Chapter Ninety-Five: Inviting Guests, Being a Sucker

The atmosphere fell silent for a moment.

"Sorry, we're not familiar with each other." Yu Wan turned her head and glanced sideways, her eyes filled with indifference.

"And," she smiled rather casually, "I'm more used to people calling me Miss Yu."

Arrogant and rude, extremely arrogant.

These eight words were Tang Zhanhang's only assessment, his face stiffening with embarrassment: "Miss Yu." It was merely a form of address; the Yu family's arrogance wouldn't last long. When the time came, she would pay a heavy price for her actions today!

Yu Wan gave a faint "hmm".

Confident and self-assured.

And it is only natural and righteous.

Tang Yue smiled and his gaze softened as he looked at Yu Wan.

Tsk.

Wanwan is so cute.

Tang Zhanhang felt a sudden headache. Not only was he an elder, but he was also the chairman of a group. Didn't he fear shortening his lifespan by calling her "Miss Yu"? Sure enough, the Yu family were just nouveau riche who couldn't stand up to scruples and had no basic manners at all.

After this ordeal, he no longer wanted to cultivate a good relationship with Yu Wan for the time being. He turned to Tang Yue and asked, "Xiao Yue, the food is getting cold. Let's go inside."

Tang Yue looked at Yu Wan, silently asking: Do you want to go?

If Yu Wan doesn't go, he'll find an excuse to refuse Tang Zhanhang and go home with her. As long as he can't get any information about the AR705 project out of him, it'll only be Tang Zhanhang who gets anxious. Maybe if he gets anxious, he'll reveal more secrets.

"Ah Yue went bankrupt, so Mr. Tang will pay for this meal, right?" Yu Wan raised her eyebrows and suddenly asked, reaching into her pocket.

Tang Zhanhang thought Yu Wan was going to pay the bill to humiliate him, so he said sarcastically in a low voice, "Of course it's my treat. There's no reason for a junior to pay. Miss Yu may have some pocket money, but you should keep it for yourself."

Yu Wan glanced at her indifferently: "I didn't intend to pay the bill."

Tang Zhanhang, who was left speechless: "..."

Tang Yue almost couldn't help but chuckle out loud.

"Weren't you going to treat me to dinner?" Yu Wan had already taken out her phone from her pocket and was typing a string of messages in her group of friends: "I came with some friends. Mr. Tang, you shouldn't mind inviting a few more people, right?"

Tang Zhanhang's eyes widened in disbelief; he never expected Yu Wan to be so shameless.

“My second uncle can afford to treat me to a meal.” Tang Yue took the opportunity to ruffle Yu Wan’s hair, which was soft, and his eyes instantly filled with a smile. After a pause, he raised his chin at Tang Zhanhang: “Right, second uncle?”

Tang Zhanghang was so angry he almost had a heart attack. He forced an awkward smile and squeezed out a sentence through gritted teeth: "Xiao Yue is right. It's just a meal. Miss Yu, you don't need to be so polite with me."

Half an hour later.

The private room was packed with people. Jiangcheng's group of carefree playboys gathered together, ordering the most expensive drinks while praising them with smiles.

"Uncle Tang is so generous, and his noble character is something we should all learn from. In that case, we won't stand on ceremony."

"I will definitely spread the word about it. Uncle Tang's selfless character must be known and promoted."

"Hey, Uncle Tang, you know we're still poor students and don't have much pocket money. We won't spend money to buy you news. Uncle Tang is a man of high moral character, and he probably doesn't need us to do that, right?"

Tang Zhanghang clutched his chest, which was throbbing with pain, and desperately wanted to take back his boast. He didn't care about the money itself, but spending it on these worthless people made him so angry he almost vomited blood.

-

A group of people left the restaurant, and snowflakes began to fall from the sky.

"Sister Yu, how about we go cross-country skiing after the final exams?" Huang Renfeng suggested. "The weather before the Spring Festival is perfect for going to Interlaken. We can also stay in Lucerne or Zurich for a few days and come back just in time for the New Year."

Yu Wan was tempted, but thinking about what she was doing, she shook her head and refused: "Never mind, I have things to do this year."

"Is it about the 3T Challenge?" Meng Shen's eyes lit up. "It's okay if we don't go skiing this year, there will be other opportunities next year."

The others all looked over, filled with envy. There was no doubt that Yu Wan would bring Meng Shen along, while they didn't know if they'd have the chance.

Yu Wan shook her head: "No."

She raised an eyebrow slightly, her expression indifferent, and said lazily, "You guys should relax this winter break. You'll probably be very busy next spring."

Everyone stood there, stunned, exchanging bewildered glances, a vague guess forming in their minds, but no one dared to be certain.

Meng Shen took a deep drag on his cigarette: "Don't all look like those wretched women in their boudoirs. Yu Xiaowan has already informed Teacher Rong today that she will be taking us with her to this competition."

real?

It was true!

The crowd cheered excitedly.

"Sister Yu, can I tell my husband about this? We can finally hold our heads high this New Year."

"I want it too! Just thinking about it makes my blood boil."

"Long live Sister Yu!"

"..." How cringeworthy.

Yu Wan frowned in disgust: "It's just a stupid competition, and they're all so useless."

Meng Shen put his arm around her shoulder and said excitedly, "It's different. For us spoiled brats, it's proof of our strength. Look at all the new rich in Jiangcheng, only we can participate in the competition. It's like the serfs have finally turned the tables and are singing our praises!"

What song are you going to sing?

A cold voice suddenly came from behind.

Meng Shen froze for a moment. Oh no, he had gotten carried away and forgotten that Tang Yue was still here. He stiffly withdrew his hand, patted Yu Wan's shoulder in a pretentious manner, and muttered to himself, "There's dust here too. The dust in Jiangcheng is too much."
