Chapter Sixty-Nine: Tang Yue's Sweet Talk

The auditorium was packed with people. When Yu arrived late, the event was about to start, and the hall was full and noisy.

She paused, frowned slightly, and then lazily walked to the front.

People on both sides of the aisle turned their heads to look.

The girl has a delicate and beautiful profile, and long, straight legs. However, she exudes a cool and aloof aura, making her seem like someone not to be trifled with.

Many people present had already guessed her identity: the heiress of the Yu Group.

Only at this moment did they remember that Yu Jianguo had generously donated several buildings to ensure Yu Wan's smooth university life. Jiangda took the opportunity to invite him to give a speech during the university's anniversary celebration, and Chairman Yu, who rarely appeared in public, agreed without hesitation, perfectly embodying the phrase "doting on his daughter like his own life."

In other words, getting Yu Wan on board would be equivalent to taking over the Yu Group. In an instant, more and more gazes, growing increasingly intense, fell upon that slender, tall figure.

Yu Wan immediately spotted Yu Jianguo sitting in the center. He had his legs crossed, his hands folded on his knees, his eyes fixed on his phone, his lips tightly pressed together, and he exuded a cold aura that kept strangers at bay. Many people nearby tried to get close to him, but they were all deterred by his serious and aloof demeanor.

She went over and sat in the empty seat to his right. Glancing sideways, she saw that Old Yu was typing. After painstakingly typing a long message, he seemed afraid she would find it annoying, so he deleted and edited it down to just three words: Where are we?

At the same time, her phone buzzed.

Her heart felt like it had been stabbed, a strange bittersweet feeling washing over her. Yu Wan pulled a piece of candy from her pocket and handed it to him: "Grapefruit flavored."

Yu Jianguo suddenly turned his head and exclaimed in surprise, "Wanwan, you still remember that Dad often has low blood sugar." He happily took the fruit candy, unwrapped it, put it in his mouth, his eyes sparkling, and asked cheerfully, "When did you arrive? I asked Secretary Li to pick you up. Did you run into him?" He looked around warily, but did not see Tang Yue, which made him even more relieved.

"Just arrived." Yu Wan leaned back. "I took a shortcut and didn't run into Secretary Li."

Yu Jianguo leaned closer and said, feigning concern, "Daughter, Dad's speech is the final one. These speeches aren't very interesting, they're all just empty boasting. If you're sleepy, you can leave early."

After a pause, as if afraid that Yu Wan would leave, he added, "Although I personally supervised the public relations department in revising the draft."

"..."

Yu Wan waved her phone: "I'm not leaving. I still want to take pictures of you. I'll frame them and hang them in the study."

Yu Jianguo exclaimed "Ah!" as his mind was completely filled with the image of his daughter wanting to take pictures of him. He then burst into laughter, drawing curious glances from the crowd.

"Excuse me, Yu, I'm sorry to bother you, but you can't sit here." At this moment, a soft, sweet voice came from behind.

Yu Wan looked up.

His gaze swept lightly over Yao Ting, whose cheeks flushed red and whose hands nervously clasped together as she explained, "This seat is Principal Shen's." Yu looks good in any style.

Before Yu Wan could speak, Yu Jianguo frowned unhappily: "Wanwan has to sit with me, that's what you promised." He specially arranged for his daughter to sit in the first row so he could show her his father's charisma up close!

Yao Ting smiled politely: "Student Yu's seat is arranged in the third row, right behind you." The seating arrangements are made by the school; they are just following orders and have no authority to change the seats. The first row is full of business tycoons, and it wouldn't be appropriate for a student like Yu Wan to sit in the middle on equal footing with them, so the school made this last-minute adjustment.

Yu Jianguo was about to speak when Yu Wan stopped him, saying, "It's okay, it doesn't matter where I sit. Besides, I can play games in the back."

Yu Jianguo nodded and reluctantly said, "Alright." There was a hint of resentment in his eyes.

Seeing this, Yu Wan took out two more pieces of candy and placed them in his palm before getting up and walking towards the back.

Yao Ting stared blankly at Chairman Yu, who was grinning from ear to ear, for a long while before hurriedly following after him as Yu Wan walked away.

"Thank you so much, Yu," Yao Ting said sincerely.

Yu Wan gave a casual "hmm".

Yao Ting exclaimed in surprise: "Student Yu is so cool and handsome!"

"Wait a moment, I have something for you."

A moment later.

Yu Wan looked at the red apple in front of her and raised an eyebrow.

"I heard this is your favorite fruit, so I specially went to G-super last night to pick it out." Yao Ting's eyes lit up, her face full of anticipation.

Yu Wan paused, unable to describe her feelings.

G-super is an imported supermarket, and the nearest one is about half an hour's drive from Jiangda University. In all these years, apart from Meng Shen, this is the first time that anyone else has gone to such lengths to buy her the things she likes to eat.

"Thank you." Yu Wan took it from her hand.

Yao Ting's cheeks flushed red with excitement again: "I...I have something to do, I have to go now." She ran off with light steps, secretly making a decision: next time, she must become friends with Yu.

Yu Wan looked away, took a bite of the apple, and found it was indeed quite sweet.

-

This lecture was indeed dull and boring.

Yu Wan played games for almost two hours, and her eyes started to feel blurry, so she put down her phone and rubbed her sore neck.

The speaker on stage was a bald, middle-aged man, presumably one of the board members, who was passionately recounting the history of Jiangnan University.

Buzz...

My phone suddenly vibrated.

[Tang Dog: I'm at the door, come out.]
