Chapter Sixty-Two: Is this how you apologize?

We didn't get to visit the farmhouse.

They had only been driving for a short while when a Lamborghini suddenly swerved in from the side and pulled alongside them on the left. A silver Aston Martin then moved close behind on the right, sandwiching them between them.

Meng Shen was forced to stop.

"Damn it, has Gao Lingyang gone mad? He actually dared to stop my car in the street." He slammed his fist on the steering wheel, his face as dark as the bottom of a pot: "You wait in the car, I'll go see what's going on?"

Yu Wan lowered her eyes and brows, her slender fingers casually tapping on her phone, lazily humming a "hmm" through her nose.

Meng Shen suddenly pulled open the car door, and the people in the other car got out one after another.

The two sides were locked in a standoff, and the atmosphere was tense and ready to clash.

"Oh, isn't this the famous shooting athlete, Young Master Gao, the defeated rival of our Jiangcheng's most spoiled young lady?" Meng Shen crossed his arms and curled his lips in a provocative smile. "What? Wasn't your defeat last time enough? Do you want to humiliate yourself again?"

Everyone: "..." Look at this string of adjectives, it's really provoking hatred! The title of Jiang Cheng, the young master of the Meng family, is indeed well-deserved.

Gao Lingyang rushed forward in a fit of rage, stopped, and clenched his fists: "Shut up, I only lost once." This time, however, became an indelible stain on his life, causing him to lose face and be ridiculed by countless people.

Meng Shen said quietly, "Yes, he only lost once, a professional losing to an amateur player."

Gao Lingyang was so angry that his lips trembled and his fists clenched so tightly that they cracked. He was about to rush over when someone next to him grabbed him in time and advised, "Second Young Master, Meng Shen is a wicked kid. He's deliberately provoking you. If you make the first move, you'll be in the wrong. Besides, don't forget we still have important business to attend to."

If it really came down to a fight, Gao Lingyang might not be a match for Meng Shen; he'd probably just get beaten up. After being persuaded, his anger subsided by half. He walked down the steps, still arrogantly declaring, "Don't be so cocky, kid. If you're so capable, let's have a match sometime. The loser has to kneel down and kowtow to the other, calling them 'daddy.' Do you dare to agree?"

Meng Shen clicked his tongue, shook his head, and stared at him with the kind of look one might give a mentally challenged person: "Do you think I'm stupid? Why should I compete in what you're best at? Do you think the whole world belongs to your dad and has to give way to you?"

"You..." Gao Lingyang was furious upon hearing this.

"Second Young Master, don't be impulsive! We have important business to attend to!"

"Yes, yes, yes, if we fight here and end up in jail, Boss Gao will definitely be angry."

Four or five people persuaded Gao Lingyang with a few words.

Gao Lingyang took a few deep breaths, glared at Meng Shen resentfully, walked around to the side of the sports car, and tapped the passenger side window with his fingers: "Yu Wan, I have something to tell you."

The car window rolled down quickly, revealing that delicate profile.

Despite sitting lazily in the passenger seat, Yu Wan exuded a sharp and flamboyant aura.

Gao Lingyang suddenly felt a dryness in his throat and subconsciously clenched his clothes, feeling quite nervous and helpless.

Seeing that he hadn't spoken for a while, Yu Wan glanced at him impatiently, her voice quite cold: "What is it?" So important that he stopped her in the street.

She glanced down at her phone and added, "You have five minutes left."

Calm arrogance.

A silence descended, and the atmosphere at the scene instantly plummeted to freezing point.

"Yu Wan, don't be so arrogant." One of Gao Lingyang's henchmen spoke up in dissatisfaction.

Another person nearby said sarcastically, "Who does he think he is? Five minutes!"

Gao Lingyang had already recovered from that cold, glaring gaze and felt incredibly guilty. At the same time, his deep-seated male chauvinism, suppressed to the extreme, rebounded, filling his chest with resentment that was almost overflowing.

He gritted his teeth and said fiercely, "My brother asked me to apologize to you about the private jet incident. I've booked a table at Dongfeng Restaurant, and I hope you can do me the honor of attending."

Gao Lingyang made a gesture, and his seven henchmen immediately surrounded the sports car, giving the impression that "you have to go whether you want to or not."

Yu Wan glanced at it briefly before looking away, her expression arrogant and contemptuous.

Everyone was so angry that their eyes turned red. Being publicly scorned by a woman was incredibly humiliating and unbearable!

"Hey Gao, you want to fight?" Meng Shen raised an eyebrow and rolled up his sleeves. "This place isn't convenient. Let's find an open space. You've blocked us here, almost blocking the whole road. It's very unethical of you to do this."

Everyone: "..." You, a spoiled brat, actually know how to obey traffic rules?

Gao Lingyang didn't take Meng Shen seriously at all, and arrogantly stared at Yu Wan: "Young Master Meng drives unsteadily, Miss Yu, you should get in my car." As he spoke, he opened the car door and reached out to grab Yu Wan's arm.

"ah……"

A sudden scream shook the heavens.

The change happened in an instant, and no one had time to react.

Yu Wan was seen leaning against the car door with her hands in her pockets.

Gao Lingyang was in so much pain that he curled up in a ball, kneeling on the ground with his hands covering his lower abdomen. His face was extremely pale and his forehead was covered in cold sweat.

Everyone pursed their lips and subconsciously closed their legs.

Just then, a police siren sounded from afar and stopped behind them: "What are you all doing here? And who called the police?"

“It’s me,” Yu Wan said as she walked over, her voice cold and indifferent. “They blocked our way in public, with ill intentions.”

The police officer looked at the pretty young girl in front of him, then at the group of arrogant young men, and a melodramatic story was already flashing through his mind. His gaze softened as he looked at Yu Wan, and he said gently, "Don't be afraid, young lady. We're here. We won't let them hurt you."

He paused, raised his eyes, and said sternly to Gao Lingyang and the others, "You're all coming with me to the police station."

Everyone: "..."

Holy crap, Yu Wan actually called the police!

The biggest playboy in Jiangcheng actually called the police!!!

Have they no shame?

as well as……

Officers, please get this straight: who is going to hurt whom?

Even if we all joined together, we wouldn't be enough for her to beat us up.

-

After giving their statements, and with the added evidence of street surveillance and dashcam footage, Gao Lingyang and the others had no way to defend themselves and sheepishly accepted several hours of criticism and education.

As Yu Wan left the police station, she ran into Gao Lingchuan, who had rushed over after receiving a phone call.

Their eyes met.

The other person's sharp gaze seemed to pierce through her.

“Miss Yu, I am very sorry for what my brother did.” Gao Lingchuan smiled in a formulaic way.

Yu Wan gave a casual "hmm," not intending to say much more, and brushed past him.

Gao Lingchuan's eyes darkened: "Miss Yu seems to be getting quite close to Tang Yue lately. I wonder what your relationship is?"

Yu Wan stopped in her tracks, glanced at him sideways, her delicate features exuding arrogance and unrestrained charm.

She said, "None of your business."
