Chapter Twenty-Seven: Treating Me Like a Best Friend



In a daze, the background sounds of the game grew fainter and fainter until they disappeared completely.

Jiang Da's house is located next to a park, in a quiet and elegant environment. Although Yu Wan doesn't live here often, she regularly hires a housekeeper to clean, so the house is relatively tidy and clean.

After changing into slippers by the door, she walked straight to the sofa and slumped down.

Seeing Tang Yue standing awkwardly by the door, Meng Shen took out a pair of new slippers from the shoe cabinet: "Young Master Tang, you wear these. I've never used them before."

Tang Yue frowned slightly, displeased with Meng Shen's familiar and natural actions, like a cheetah whose territory had been invaded, and gave him a meaningful glance.

That gaze was chillingly cold.

Meng Shen shuddered, feeling a cold sweat creep up his spine.

"Do you come here often?" Tang Yue asked casually as he changed his shoes.

Meng Shen chuckled awkwardly, "Occasionally, I've come once or twice." He silently erased the "ten" from the "ten or twenty times".

Tang Yue gave an "oh," a casual smile playing on his lips: "Besides you, have other boys come here too?"

"No, absolutely not," Meng Shen said. "Yu Xiaowan is very sensible and never brings outsiders back easily."

The surrounding air suddenly became somewhat oppressive.

He quickly added, "Don't misunderstand, Yu Xiaowan treats me like a best friend."

Silence fell, and the atmosphere became silent once again.

A few seconds later, Tang Yue chuckled and said, "It does look quite similar." After saying that, he strode towards Yu Wan with his long legs.

After he left, Meng Shen was left alone in the entryway. He stood there frozen, his lips twitching, silently giving himself the middle finger in his mind: What a spineless coward!
