Chapter 15

Chapter 15

Since I quit my job and don't have to get up early for work, I ordered takeout for lunch. Jiang Jiang was drooling with envy, but unfortunately, the dog can't eat it.

The weather was nice, so I did some cleaning. I finished mopping the floor around 3 p.m. and then went to tidy up the storage room. I found a few stones, which were souvenirs we brought back from a hiking trip after we became a couple. They reminded me of some things.

During the winter break after watching the movie, I missed you terribly throughout the entire Spring Festival. Although we lived in the same city, Qi Chengchen took me back to my hometown to spend the New Year with my grandparents.

The new semester has begun.

"Hello?"

"Jianian, where are you?"

"dormitory."

I put my phone away and ran towards the men's dormitory. Did you come down because you thought I would break into the men's dormitory? How could I do such a thing?

You were standing downstairs in the boys' dormitory, wearing a white down jacket, your nose a little red from the cold. I was panting and barely managed to resist hugging you.

You saw me and coughed lightly: "Come here, don't you want a boyfriend anymore?"

I rushed over and jumped on top of you, wrapping my arms tightly around your neck.

You were knocked back by my bump, and when you reached out to catch me, your foot slipped and you almost fell.

Why are you running?

I rubbed against your ear.

"Hmm? Get down."

I actually feel like crying. When I was a kid, I got into a fight and someone stopped me and pulled my braid, but I didn't cry.

"Marry me."

"..."

"Qi Chengheng," I heard you say in my ear, "you just got together with him and you want to break up, don't you?"

…It was only when you were drunk that I realized the reason you accepted my flowers but waited until after winter break to agree to be my boyfriend was because I stole your spotlight. The flowers I gave you, the breakfast I bought you, the kisses, the movies we watched, the photos we took… It was as if I had read the script beforehand and did everything you could do ahead of time. I even almost proposed to you while clinging to you. Mr. Jiang's pride was shattered.

...

I took a nap in the evening, and Jiang Jiang was so hungry that she was scratching at the door. Maybe I'm not suited to raising dogs.

After it's eaten its fill, I'll take it for a walk. The square dance music in People's Park is deafening. We chose to buy a house here because there's a park here. I remember we were so excited on the first day we moved in that we couldn't sleep. In the middle of the night, you dragged me out for a walk.

We sat on a park bench, watching the elderly folks dancing in the distance. I leaned on your shoulder, already feeling a little sleepy.

You wrapped me in your coat and said, "We'll do it when we're old."

I squinted and saw colorful things in front of me, like a dream. The air was a little cool. Did you let go of me, or did I wake up from my dream?
