Floating Island

Floating Island

It was almost noon when Qu Mengting came out of the ventilation duct. There was no other way. She had no sense of direction and it took her two hours to find the exit.

Not many people come to this flower garden, and after one night the iron fence is still the same.

She stretched her body after seeing the light of day again, holding a thick list in her arms. She was shocked to find that there were so many people who had been to the island. Nearly two thousand people had been sent to the island this year alone. The number of names was so large that it did not match the number of people in the building at all.

This is important physical evidence, and Qu Mengting will do everything she can to bring it out.

But, now that I have brought it out, where should I put it? I can't always follow her around.

This place must have been neglected, as weeds had spread beyond the iron gate. Qu Mengting decided to hide the list in the grass. She carefully arranged the weeds, hoping they would completely cover the list.

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out!

Qu Mengting shuddered all over and then looked around.

Seeing footsteps approaching, she reacted quickly and buried herself in the haystack. The mercenaries spoke a language she couldn't understand, with anxious expressions on their faces, and then dispersed in groups.

Qu Mengting was confused. What had happened? She had only disappeared for a night, so how could the weather have changed when she came out?

Then, she boldly guessed that their "reinforcements" had arrived!

Now he didn't hide anything. He picked up the list and stuffed it in his arms, ready to meet up with Jiang Li.

At this time, the people who met up were in Qian Shiyao's box on the third floor.

His right hand was still holding the gun. Everyone in the room was knocked to the ground. He grabbed a handful of hair and said unhappily, "What a piece of garbage."

It can only be said that Jiang Li's luck was really bad. As soon as he went out, he ran into guards who were looking for someone in the room. In order not to expose his actions, Jiang Li had no choice but to follow them, and they were also urged not to ask about his disappearance.

When he was brought to the box, he was still a little dazed. The lighting in the box was dim and he couldn't see the person sitting there, but what made him sensitive was the strong smell of blood in the room.

The man chuckled twice and slowly lit a cigarette. The flame flickered and white smoke spread in the box again. The smell made Jiang Li want to vomit.

He said with a hint of deep meaning, "They look exactly like each other."

Jiang Li reached out and turned on the light in the box, then raised his eyebrows. He had heard of this person before.

Qian Shiyao, the third young master of the Qian family, is a notoriously dissolute man.

He crossed his legs, opened his arms and beckoned to Jiang Li, "Come here."

He was drunk, and his eyes were a little blurry. Jiang Li naturally wouldn't agree to his wishes, so he pressed on, "Who does he look like?"

He was very satisfied with these people's "resistance" and answered considerately, "Like a particularly annoying person."

"You still watch it even though you hate it, you are just a jerk."

Whenever Jiang Li wanted to scold someone, he would always do it calmly and expressionlessly, and this time was no exception.

But the more Qian Shiyao saw him like this, the more he liked him. Even after being scolded, he still had a smile on his face. "How old are you this year?"

Jiang Li stood straight, but when he opened his mouth, he made up a lie, "100 years old."

Qian Shiyao thought this guy was really interesting. Since he didn't want to come over, he could go over. So he stood up, poured him a glass of wine, and walked over.

He stood up and was almost as tall as Jiang Li. When he put the wine in front of him, Jiang Li didn't even look at it. He was almost annoyed by being rejected repeatedly. He had no patience to begin with, so he slammed the wine glass to the ground and gave Jiang Li a sour look.

Jiang Li said, "Are you irritable? If you are sick, go see a doctor."

Qian Shiyao had never been treated like this since he was a child. He came from a wealthy family and had everything since he was born. He had long been tired of material desires. After buying the floating island with his second brother, he had everything he wanted. Now, a young boy actually dared to treat him like this.

But this boy has a pure and clean face, and his temperament is so clear that he doesn't fit in here.

"I take that back. Now, you're the one I hate."

"Oh." Jiang Li said indifferently, "Then can you let me go?"

Qian Shiyao was furious, but at the same time, he thought of his previous tricks. Anyone who refused to submit to him or obey him would end up in a miserable state, and today would be no exception.

So when the administrator helped him restrain Jiang Li, he shook the wine in his glass and sighed, life is too easy. As long as you are born into the right family, you will have a smooth journey and get whatever you want.

In the blink of an eye, the glass of red wine was spilled on him.

When he came back to his senses, he saw no sign of the other person. He had fallen to the ground. Jiang Li grabbed the cup and poured it over his head. He shook the empty cup and smiled harmlessly, "You don't have much money. Not everything can be solved with money."

Qian Shiyao wiped his face and stared at him fiercely, "Who are you?"

Qian Shiyao was so drunk that his reaction became slow. Jiang Li was playing with a gun that he had gotten from somewhere. He was unsure what this guy wanted to do.

Then I thought, what can a young boy do?

He pulled the safety, put the muzzle of the gun against Qian Shiyao's waist, and continued, "Some of them cost your life."

To be honest, meeting Qian Shiyao here is a blessing. After all, there are not many people who die like this, and the Qian family will not pursue other people too much except for the gloomy second young master. This shot can be regarded as revenge for the past.

Qian Shiyao smelled murderous intent. In order to buy himself a chance to survive, he grabbed Jiang Li's wrist and twisted it hard. He used his other hand to grab the gun in his hand, but unfortunately his movement was too slow. Jiang Li took the initiative to lock his arms and pulled him up swiftly. He slammed straight onto the stone table, grimacing in pain.

The latter moved his wrist, raised his gun and turned around.

Qian Shiyao turned his head and met a pair of deep eyes. The smile on the corner of that person's lips was like the arrival of the god of death.

Terror gripped his entire body. Qian Shiyao crawled under the table and scrambled to open the door. "Someone come!"

Jiang Li took two steps across the table, bent down, and pulled the man back.

"Help me! Someone!"

This scene was exactly the same as Qian Shiyao's teasing of others a few hours ago, but now the position reversal actually gave him a different kind of pleasure.

Xiao Xin tilted her neck to take a look. How could this boy, who looked so young, be so powerful? The floating island had been established for twenty years but no prey had become the master. This was the first time.

After sighing for a few minutes, he was caught off guard and met Jiang Li's eyes. His hair stood on end and he tilted his head and pretended to be dead.

In the face of absolute power, even the powerful have to bow their heads.

Qian Shiyao grabbed his trouser legs and begged for mercy, "Don't kill me! Don't kill me! What do you want? Tell me! Just don't kill me! Any conditions are fine!"

Jiang Li half-knelt, glared at him, and said lightly: "You are a member of the Qian family, you can't survive."

Perhaps it was because his expression was too terrifying that it aroused his disgust towards that person. The two faces slowly overlapped in his mind, and Qian Shiyao seemed to suddenly regain his memory and understood who the person in front of him was.

“…It’s you.”

Qian Shiyao was furious, grabbing his collar with his eyes red, "Aren't you afraid of growing...?"

"Bang--"

“Bang, bang, bang!”

Bullets were fired continuously, and the guests came down from the elevator screaming, their clothes in disarray, and were escorted to the gate.

The mercenaries guarding the outskirts of the castle rushed into the woods. Suddenly, the birds were startled and flew away, and gunshots rang out.

A boat was docking at the gate not far away. Qu Mengting ran to the dormitory with the roster in her arms. She heard them arguing in the lobby. All the management staff were gathered together. There were only two helicopters in the castle, and they were discussing abandoning the island and fleeing!

Xu Ning asked, "What about these people?"

A bearded foreigner said in broken Chinese, "Kill them all."

She hid behind a pillar and listened for a while, then cursed.

She had to go and report the news, but... the shooting had already begun.

Half of the mercenaries stationed in the woods turned back and fired indiscriminately. Their earphones had already received the final mission: destroy the floating island without leaving a single one alive.

Jiang Li returned to the computer room. The transmission was still going on. Cheng Minli finally waited for someone to arrive and said, "The police are here."

"Um."

When he just came up, he found that they were finishing up and it was unlikely that anything in the castle could be kept, including them.

Jiang Li handed her the gun and said, "Take it and go find Qu Mengting. Take the rest of the people and find the police."

Cheng Minli took the still-warm gun and hesitated, "What about you?"

"I'll leave as soon as I get this data."

"But……"

"Don't worry, they're shooting at us from all directions. If we don't leave now, we won't be able to escape." Jiang Li took out a black card from his pocket and threw it to her, "Qian Shiyao's pass, take them out."

Cheng Minli held the card tightly, then raised her head with a determined look, "Take care."

After she left the machine room, silence returned. Apart from the rhythmic ticking of the machines, he felt an unprecedented peace.

The tranquility in the room was in stark contrast to the race against time outside. Qu Mengting ran back to the dormitory with the roster in her arms, and when she opened the door, she found no one inside.

"It's okay, it's okay, I still know how to run."

She took a breath and suddenly someone called her, "Get down!"

Qu Mengting was startled and quickly squatted down. The bullet grazed the wall and her legs went limp.

The next second someone grabbed her arm and ran away, and they hid behind the stone pillars.

Fang Junwen said: "They all hid."

Qu Mengting gasped, "That's good."

"Come with me."

Cheng Minli came out of the computer room and opened the doors one by one until she heard a cry for help from a cell.

When the door was opened, the girl had no idea how long she had been locked up. Tears immediately welled up in her eyes when she saw people. Cheng Minli shot to break the chain and helped the dying girl out.

The footsteps were getting closer and closer, and Jiang Li hid himself between the machines.

The group looked around and found nothing unusual, so they turned around.

“Ding Dong——”

Jiang Li covered the microphone in panic and couldn't help but hold his forehead.

How can people be so unlucky?
