The Lost Homeland began to accelerate towards Silantis - facing one wave higher than the other, facing the terrifying howling and storm coming from the direction of the giant tree, the ghost ship began to charge while being enveloped in raging flames.
Silantis seemed to have noticed this sudden change, and his instinct to resist the invasion of dreams immediately began to take effect - huge waves rolled on the sea, and the sea water affected by the giant tree turned into a sky-high barrier covered with fangs and sharp blades, smashing down on the bow of the Lost Hometown with an almost crushing posture. Amid the howling waves, countless hazy phantoms began to emerge in the storm. Those phantoms seemed to be an ancient legion, mixed with countless phantoms of birds and beasts that had been distorted to the point of being completely unrecognizable. They crossed the gaps between the waves like a tidal wave and rushed towards the ghost ship burning in the strong wind and huge waves.
However, the Lost Homeland did not try to avoid the oncoming storm. Instead, its sails were further inflated and its speed increased further.
Dark green flames burst out from every deck gap, every cabin window, and every gun port of the ship, as if to ignite the entire sea surface. This ball of living fire that swept across the sea directly crashed into the storm composed of nightmare illusions.
The raging waves were burned by the flames, and a huge gap was steamed out. The blade wrapped in the wind and waves was swallowed by the invisible force and dissipated into harmless water mist in the next gust of wind. The illusion that emerged in the storm turned into a real illusion in the flames.
They passed through the hull of the Lost Homeland harmlessly. The spiritual fire did not seem to cause any harm to them, and they were unable to cause any impact on the Lost Homeland. However, in the tail flame of the Lost Homeland, these phantoms gradually stopped, as if awakening from a long dream, and they dissipated silently in the wind.
Then, the Lost Homeland sailed into bigger storms, more illusions, and nightmares that were closer to the essence of Silendis.
Just as people can never detect when their dreams begin, after a certain imperceptible moment, the entire world outside the Lost Hometown has fallen into chaos and darkness. The boundless sea disappeared, the sky disappeared, and the "sunshine" that diffused from the sea in the distance also disappeared without knowing when.
All that was left around was the illusion of a storm rising in the darkness, and a huge "tunnel" that appeared and disappeared in the storm, as if it was made up of countless vines and roots. The Lost Homeland was sailing rapidly in this indescribable "tunnel".
After another imperceptible moment, the sound disappeared - the entire world outside the Lost Homeland fell into silence.
However, the illusion of the storm still existed, it just surged in silence, and it seemed even more weird and terrifying than before.
The Lost Homeland continued to sail in this intertwined plant structure. The entire ship seemed to be floating in nothingness. In front of this nothingness, only the huge shadow of Silantis still existed.
It seemed to have become the only entity left in the world, as if it was the only, last tree after the entire world collapsed and all things fell into silence.
Or, the original tree.
Rune felt a little better - after passing that imperceptible "dream moment", or perhaps after some kind of "transformation" suddenly occurred on the ship, he found that the constant call in his mind suddenly weakened, and he felt that his consciousness was gradually regaining stability, and he even heard the heartbeat in his chest again.
He lowered his head and saw that his body was indeed recovering little by little.
Looking out the window, you can see the giant tree stretching for thousands of miles in the dark space.
Although he was still trapped in this dangerous and terrifying "Dream of the Ancient Gods", and although he knew that Silandis was still trying to "protect" or kill every elf in the world, the old man still couldn't help but whisper to himself: "... So beautiful..."
A voice came from the side: "Yes, it's really beautiful..."
Rune looked in the direction of the sound and saw the strange goat head on the navigation table looking out the window and sighing - faint green flames were flowing and rising between its wooden structure, and a ray of fire condensed below it, like a blurry and twisted spine, connecting it to the deck below along the table.
"In the beginning, I planted her in the darkness - just like now," the strange wooden goat head continued to speak softly, as if it was immersed in memories and carefully picking up the fragments deep in its memories, "but she was not this big at that time... just a small sapling, crooked, even a little... ugly.
"I didn't know what she would look like, let alone what she should look like - she shaped herself, and all I did was let her grow and grow.
"Then I learned to imagine more things, more trees, plants growing with the trees, and all kinds of creatures living among the plants... I placed them in various places in the darkness, and then I don't know when the darkness faded, the world began to become lush, and many things...beyond my initial imagination began to happen. Overall, it was very interesting - much more interesting than an endless and meaningless void.
"So, some intelligent creatures that grew out of the forest gave me a name, and they said I was the 'Creator'.
“But I didn’t quite understand the name they gave me, and I didn’t quite understand a lot of the things they said—and they also did some very strange things that I didn’t understand.
"They gathered together to dance, placing their bountiful harvest at the feet of a male goat carved from tree roots. They erected a huge waterwheel beside the river and decorated it with colorful strips of cloth. When they finally mastered the ability to fly in the sky, they used a huge flying machine to jump down from the branches of Silantis, gliding across the entire hills, and arrived at the end of Silantis' sight amid cheers...
“They say this is to please the great Creator so that he won’t leave.
"But I don't understand what they are doing, and I actually have no interest in their...performances and gifts, ever.
"But I saw they were having fun, so I thought it was good."
Rune calmed down. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at the goat head on the table with an incredible look.
He opened his mouth, but complex emotions blocked all his words - only a strange gurgling came out from his throat.
Then, a sudden crackling sound in the captain's room interrupted all subsequent actions and words of the old elf.
A green spirit fire ignited out of nowhere, and a tall figure was outlined in the flames. Duncan stepped out of the fire and looked at the goat's head: "Do you remember everything?"
"It's broken and chaotic. I only have a vague impression and some flashing images." The goat head made a slight sound of wood friction and slowly turned his gaze to Duncan. "I can feel that there are many 'fragments' scattered in other places."
"Are you planning on getting them all together?" Duncan asked casually.
"...It doesn't matter." The goat-head was silent for two seconds, but to Duncan's surprise, he shook his head. "At least it's not something to consider right now."
"...Okay," Duncan looked at the goat head deeply, then looked out the window, "Let's prepare for 'contact'. We are not far from the 'tree trunk'."
"Do you want to steer the ship yourself?" asked the Goat-Head.
"No," Duncan shook his head. "If I were to take the helm, I would probably never find where Silantis is hiding. Since you have already remembered part of the story, you can continue to take the helm. I think this part of the 'memories' should be enough for you to find the right direction."
"clear."
The goat-head replied succinctly.
To be honest, Duncan felt a little uncomfortable with this guy suddenly speaking so concisely.
But he quickly put this strange idea behind his mind.
The Lost Homeland began to pass through the layers of silent storm illusions, and the tunnels and curtains formed by countless vines and roots - this ghost ship sailing on the edge of dreams had wandered on the edge of this dark curtain many times, but this time, it finally found the right direction.
Duncan turned his head and glanced at Pope Rune.
After a moment of awkward staring, he waved to Alice, who was standing next to him and looking out of her mind, "Come over and untie the old man..."
"Oh." Alice agreed, and came over with regret to "untie" the old elf who was still tied to the pillar with ropes.
Rune's mouth twitched slightly, and he said calmly while hiding his embarrassment: "Actually, I think it's okay. Miss Alice's actions also have a certain degree of...professionalism..."
However, just as he was halfway through his words, a violent vibration suddenly spread throughout the entire ship!
It was as if the Lost Homeland had suddenly collided with some invisible giant while sailing. An unprecedented shock suddenly came from the bow, accompanied by a piercing noise that almost made people suspect that the ship would disintegrate in the collision. Then, the mast began to swing violently, the spiritual sails burst into strong flashes while flickering, and the flames flowing on the deck suddenly exploded out of thin air!
Duncan reacted instantly to the sudden invisible impact, pressed down on the navigation table in front of him, and first used the spiritual flame to stabilize the state of the entire ship, and at the same time quickly shouted: "Hurry up and tie it up again!"
Alice's reaction this time was faster than ever: "Hey!!"
"Wait a minute!" Rune only had time to shout before he was tied up tightly by Alice again - the Pope, who was in a very bad condition, was no match for the living puppet on the Lost Homeland.
At almost the same time, Duncan glanced out the window and across the darkness and nothingness surrounding Silantis.
Spiritual flames erupted from around the Lost Homeland, as if they had "smelled" something, and were spreading madly towards the darkness.
And in the layers of light and shadow created by the burning spiritual fire, he saw... a shadow even larger than Silandis!
