The moment the boundless darkness and chaos came upon him, Ted Lear realized that something was wrong.
However, when he tried to terminate the transmission immediately and return along the "door", he found that his power was not responded to - and the illusory door that was still beside him a second ago had disappeared in the endless darkness and chaos at some point.
Calm down.
The Keeper of Truth took a deep breath and regained his composure in the shortest possible time. He suppressed the instinctive urge to immediately observe and perceive his surroundings. In the darkness, he stood quietly without trying to hear or see anything. At the same time, he gradually gathered his perceptions and controlled his thoughts. He used the "mind control method" acquired through long-term training to suppress as much as possible his curiosity, desire to explore, and associative ability that were instinctively possessed by a mortal.
This helps to resist possible malicious invading forces in the surrounding environment, or prevent oneself from rashly coming into contact with "knowledge" that should not be exposed to without sufficient preparation.
Lahem taught that all truths lie in darkness—in darkness, anything can happen, but only a tiny fraction of them are harmless to mortals.
The numbness in his brain gradually spread and slowly turned into a barrier to protect his mind. The blessing of foolishness bestowed by Lahem came, and Ted Riel breathed a sigh of relief. He felt a little relieved, and then began to control his mind to maintain the most basic rationality and judgment, while carefully restoring and rebuilding his perception, and looking towards the seemingly endless chaos.
The vision was filled with hazy shadows, and there seemed to be an endless wasteland in the darkness. It also seemed as if there were countless huge, towering and indescribable shadows standing there. Some huge structure was jumping at the edge of the vision, as if it was floating above the wasteland, drifting slowly in blindness and chaos - a severe headache suddenly came over me!
Ted Lear could hardly stand for a moment. The protective measures and cautious attitude he had constructed with all his strength were pierced within a second. Countless sharp, tiny, dizzying noises filled out from the depths of his mind the moment he saw those huge shadows, and then began to tear apart his sanity like countless vicious saw teeth, erasing his personality and beginning to devour all of his humanity, logic, and memory!
A chaotic and dark stream of light flashed between the floating giant shadows, and along with the flash of light, there was a sudden thought in the mind that could make even the most resolute saints feel despair and waver in an instant... the subspace!
“Oops…”
Ted Lear barely had time to squeeze out a word from his mind before he felt that he had begun to lose control of himself. He felt as if limbs that did not belong to him were growing on his back, and some kind of sticky and cold liquid was flowing in his blood vessels. His vision was split in the darkness, and countless uncontrollable perspectives were frantically scanning the surrounding darkness. The huge noise almost crushed his sanity -
However, the next second, a strong personal willpower surged up from the bottom of his heart. He quickly blocked those perceptions that did not belong to him, tore apart those voices in his mind that did not belong to him, and imprinted his self-awareness as an "elf" in his heart over and over again. In the moment of clarity that he forced himself to hold on, he suddenly felt a force, and an illusion appeared in front of him.
He saw a flickering red light, floating in the darkness like a forever cold and rational one-eye. There were also many small lights like an array flickering around the red "one-eye". A huge, tombstone-like outline appeared around those lights, standing silently in the fog that had emerged at some point in time.
Ted Lear's entire mind was attracted by the flickering lights. He subconsciously raised his head and stared at the brilliance. His thoughts were then sorted out and reshaped, and he moved closer to the master of wisdom.
“Boom—”
An illusory roar awakened him from the illusion, the lights in front of Ted Lear disappeared, and he returned to that dark and chaotic place again.
He realized what was happening.
The protection of the god of wisdom came - for a brief moment, Lahem glanced at him.
His own sanity was protected—but only temporarily.
The faint noise emerged from the bottom of his heart again, and Ted Lear found that the jumping and distorted shadows appeared in his vision again. He instantly realized that he had no time to waste, so he quickly took out the "Book of Miracles" which recorded a lot of knowledge and mysteries from his arms, and began to try to build a door to return to the real world.
But at this moment, an invisible force came from nowhere, and he felt his body suddenly leave the dark wasteland and be pulled quickly through the darkness.
In the darkness, he saw the chaotic wasteland rapidly receding from his sight.
He saw those silent giant shadows coming towards him, and then passing through his sight in indescribable deformation, expansion and contraction, and disappearing at the end of space.
He saw a huge structure hanging upside down in the sky, which came crashing down like a crushing force, and then disappeared silently like an illusion the next second.
He felt himself paused somewhere.
In a trance, he looked up and saw a huge upside-down object in front of him. It seemed to be a gorgeous yet gloomy building with northern-style spires and eaves. A dried-up fountain and a withered garden could be vaguely seen - part of its structure was shattered, as if it had been swallowed and torn apart by some invisible force.
However, the next second, this gorgeous mansion turned into a huge, shattered ship... It was completely different from the "ship" he knew, and more like some kind of... a cylindrical object made of twisted and broken steel. It was obviously incomplete, as if it was torn from a larger structure...
Ted Lear didn't have time to carefully observe the amazing thing. The next second, he felt himself flying rapidly in this empty space and time, and increasingly chaotic and fragmented light and shadows came towards him like a tsunami, filling his sight!
Along with the light and shadow, knowledge also flooded into his mind - knowledge that he had never been exposed to before, but at this moment suddenly became clear and understandable.
He saw the torn fabric of space and time, the shrunken and distorted stars that turned into thin rings under the pressure of space, and at the moment of annihilation, they turned into an eternal flash of light, flowing chaotically in the depths of this space;
He saw mathematical laws collapse at the end of time, ancient stars running out of control and tearing into countless burning debris;
He saw a ship sailing aimlessly in the darkness, the ship was dilapidated and almost broken, it was cruising in the darkness, as if it was carrying out an eternal exploration mission, or as if it was just a reflection from some distant time and space - the ship looked familiar;
Then, he saw a huge object floating quietly in the center of endless nothingness.
It was a huge throne that seemed to be carved out of gray-white stones. The foundation around the throne had been shattered. A headless body sat on the throne, maintaining eternal silence in the darkness.
This "journey" is about to reach its end——
For some reason, this thought suddenly flashed through Ted Lear's mind - it was as if he had transcended the laws of time and saw in advance that he would stop somewhere.
Then he stopped at a place.
It seemed to be a small piece of fragmented ground, and there seemed to be a person... or something else, shrouded in shadow.
There was a small pile of molten, unrecognizable wreckage, and a figure that looked like a human but had a strange half-body structure was leaning on the wreckage, like a soldier who had died here eternity ago, slightly raising his hand and pointing in a certain direction.
Ted Lear's mind was uncontrollably attracted to this figure - compared with the countless huge things in this chaotic space, this figure seemed particularly ordinary and harmless.
But just as he was about to take a step forward, a huge warning exploded from the bottom of his heart, causing him to stop abruptly.
And then, he saw a vague, illusory door appear beside him.
That was the portal he had summoned before but had been "lost" at some point.
Ted Lear instantly discarded all his hesitation, forced himself to put aside the urge to look at the figure and explore this unknown land, turned around and rushed towards the illusory door.
It seemed like only a moment to pass through the gate, but it also seemed like a century of chaotic drifting. Ted Riel never thought that the portal he summoned would bring him such a torn feeling - and as his sanity was crumbling, he vaguely heard a voice coming from his ear... It was the voice of a human speaking.
"I've got him! Captain, I've got him!"
A hoarse voice shouted, sounding excited and proud.
A dragging force came from his arm, and Ted Lear felt as if someone had grabbed him and was pulling him somewhere in a daze. He heard the sound of waves and felt the cold sea water soaking his limbs. A brute force pulled him out of the water and onto the boat, and threw him roughly onto the hard ground.
"I caught it! This thing floating on the edge of darkness... yes, it's a person! This thing is a person!"
Who is shouting? So rude and disrespectful... It doesn't seem like someone from the city-state, it sounds strange...
"He seems to be still unconscious... Give him artificial respiration? Oh shit, I'm a little nervous all of a sudden... That's not right, Captain, I don't know how to breathe... I usually breathe to match the atmosphere... How about giving it a try?"
Who is it?
Ted Lear thought hard and began to "restart" his perception and every nerve in his body. He tried to wake himself up and open his eyes as much as possible.
In the darkness, some blurry and shaky outlines finally began to become clear.
He saw the guy who was shouting - he saw a face, right in front of him at a very close distance.
It was an ugly mummy, with a horrifying face that looked as if it was about to rot.
The mummy is leaning down...
Ted Riel suddenly felt that he might as well go back to the warp.
