The gigantic demon with twelve symmetrical limbs and a human face finally walked away slowly. Under the high starry sky, her back gradually twisted and merged into the chaos in the distance. In the place where she once occupied, there were only dark bones and flesh that were gradually disintegrating and rising, as well as dozens of scarred "indigenous creatures" who were struggling to recover their strength.
Several Deep Hounds struggled to climb out of the pile of bones, their bones were already incomplete. Deathbirds hovered over the lifeless wreckage, searching for useful substances that could be used to restore strength. The huge skull covered with spikes slowly fell to the ground not far away, and its dark red empty eye sockets stared at the demons on the plain.
After the departure of the higher demons, a fragile and dangerous balance was formed among the remaining deep demons, but this short-lived balance would soon be broken.
When the shared fear subsides, the instincts of fighting and destruction will regain the upper hand - killing and devouring each other is the eternal logic in the deep sea, especially when there is "food" everywhere and every demon needs to recover from its injuries as quickly as possible.
The Deep Hounds that were searching for usable bone fragments in the pile of bones first growled hostilely at the death birds circling in the sky. Then, smoke jellyfish emerged from the shadows and quietly extended their sinister tentacles towards the nearby terror demons. The pitch-black skulls gradually floated up from the ground, their jaws slowly opened, and dangerous energy floated inside them...
Even though they were being pinned to the ground by a powerful and strange "foreign demon" just a moment ago, it couldn't stop these dark demons from once again engaging in mutual slaughter.
But just as the melee was about to break out, an extra voice suddenly came from not far away, instantly interrupting the actions of these demons.
The black skull was the first to detect the presence of the outsider. It suddenly raised its position and turned to look in the direction where the sound came from.
A huge shadow was staggering across the plain. It seemed to have suddenly "emerged" from the air, and the expanding, shrinking, and wriggling shadow outlined an ever-changing shape.
This scene is like those "newborn demons" that have just been born from the limbs of the Holy Lord of the Deep - they often appear in this chaotic and invisible appearance, until after a period of devouring and fusion, this chaotic and invisible "demon matrix" will collapse and condense into a specific demon "species".
However, the uninvited guest that appeared in the wasteland was obviously not a "newborn demon" - as a mass of "demon matrix" of uncertain shape, the aura it exuded was too dangerous... and weird.
The sense of crisis made all the dark demons at the scene instantly give up the urge to fight each other, and instinctively focused their vigilance on the shadow that was constantly expanding, shrinking and wriggling.
An entity slowly emerged from the shadow, a... Deep Hound constructed from countless floating broken bones, almost twice the size of its peers.
Agou felt like he had a very long dream.
It could no longer remember what happened in the dream, but it remembered that it had been to a very far place, where it met some people and friends. It lived among a group of weak but orderly creatures, and it took a long time to learn a set of "rules of survival".
And an equally weak...creature always follows him.
...Yes, where did that weak little creature go?
It slowly raised its head, and its hazy vision seemed to be covered by a thick curtain. Everything in its sight appeared distorted and layered. This place... looked familiar, but it seemed as if it had not been back for a long time.
It felt that it didn't like this place - it preferred to live in a sunny place with that "little creature".
In the hazy mist and curtain, many shadowy things gathered around, and distant and vague growls and whispers came from all directions, which seemed to be threats and seemed to be malicious.
Agou tried to open his eyes wide to see what those shadows growling at him looked like, but he couldn't see clearly - but gradually, he felt something else.
That feeling came from within myself—hunger.
It was hungry, very, very hungry, as if it had not eaten for a century, and then suddenly came to a place where... food was abundant.
Also driven by hunger, its confused mind finally began to recall some impressions related to that long "dream".
It recalled the weak little creature. It remembered that it had accompanied the little guy through the long winter nights. When the weather was very cold, they hid in the house together wrapped in quilts...
They shared the hot soup sent by a kind neighbor - he took one bite at a time...
Together, they learned how to survive in that huge city-state, how to understand the kindness and malice in people's hearts, and how to distinguish between useful and dangerous things in the trash can...
Begging, cheating, factories, chimneys, stealing, being beaten, soup, working hard, eating well, crying together, laughing together, together...
Alive.
In the hazy and layered curtains, roars filled with threats and hostility rose and fell, becoming more and more impatient, and then a swift shadow suddenly rushed over from a certain direction and launched a fierce attack towards him.
Agou felt something biting him - it was a little painful.
In the expanding, shrinking and wriggling shadows, Agou's skeleton skull slowly lowered its eyes. Deep in its empty eye sockets, a faint green light flickered on and off, as it stared with a little curiosity at the... thing that was biting it.
A Deephound - apparently one of his own kind.
Agou's body quickly took shape in the shadows and black mist. Strange bone fragments extended from its joints, helping it to restore its original appearance as a Deep Hound. It stared at the "fellow" that was biting its body, and after a few seconds, it spoke in a somewhat unfamiliar voice: "Have you seen a human? She is my friend."
The Deep Hound that was biting Agou's body suddenly hesitated and stopped, but it did not understand Agou's question - it did not have such intelligence yet.
It just sensed a huge danger - deep in Agou's eye sockets that were flashing with dim green fire, there was a very familiar aura of danger and terror.
The Deep Hound finally reacted, but it was too late. Just as it opened its mouth, the next second, all the bones in Agou's body instantly collapsed and deformed - countless black bones exploded in all directions, and enveloped the attacker's figure like a whirlwind, and in the blink of an eye, they reorganized into Agou's appearance outside the latter's body!
Eating with your mouth is inefficient, while swallowing the whole thing is more efficient.
The reckless attacker disappeared, leaving only the tall figure of Agou. The black bones in its torso were shrinking and squirming violently, and bursts of squeaking and grinding sounds came from its body, accompanied by the violent struggle of the "food" and low, dull roars - but after just a few seconds, the struggles and roars gradually subsided, leaving only the noise of the bones grinding against each other.
The hunger is easing.
Agou raised his head, feeling his strength gradually returning.
"Devil...delicious..."
The feast has begun.
Amid the roars and mutterings of countless demons, Agou's figure suddenly turned into countless scattered black bone fragments, like a fragmented hurricane, sweeping over the entire wasteland - the bones cut everything within the range, whether it was the living demons, the smoke and dust rising from the demon remains and the mud flowing on the ground, even the stones on the surface and those "thorn bushes" that looked like fossils, all were torn apart by this hurricane and turned into "food".
Those dark demons who were unwilling to be devoured launched a futile counterattack. Their fierce resistance filled Agou's stomach, while some demons who knew better how to seek benefits and avoid harm rushed madly to the end of the wasteland to avoid the eating storm - after paying the price of some scars and even part of their limbs, only a dozen demons escaped to a relatively safe place with scars all over their bodies.
The hurricane lasted for an unknown amount of time before it finally faded away over the wasteland. A gigantic figure with dark green flames burning all over its body and black smoke rising from it condensed into shape from the hurricane.
The feeling of hunger subsided, and Agou raised his head and looked in a certain direction deep in the wilderness - he vaguely felt that there was a familiar breath in the distance.
That seemed to be the "little creature" that had lived with him for a long time.
After a few seconds of slow and confused thinking, Agou slowly turned his sight and found a relatively large piece of demon debris from a messy wasteland. He lowered his head and picked up the debris, mumbling vaguely in his throat:
"Shirley...I found something to eat..."
It took big strides and ran deep into the wilderness.
Amid the devastation and wreckage, the remaining demons stood up trembling, looking into the distance in a daze.
They survived both feasts—luckily not becoming food, or at least not being eaten clean.
The faint green light that appeared during the feast is still deeply imprinted in the confused minds of these demons.
That is fear, a fear that is unconditionally imprinted in the underlying logic of almost all deep demons, and can even overwhelm their chaotic instincts.
A huge skull demon covered with spikes and completely black was floating in the air, staggering. Almost one-third of its body was "eaten" by the hurricane just now, but it still survived tenaciously - this monster, which seemed to be a little "smarter" than ordinary demons, shook a few times in the air, uttered an indistinct mutter, and then slowly flew away.
But it suddenly stopped again.
The skull demon seemed to sense something and suddenly turned his head to look at the "deep dome" above that was covered with stagnant starry sky.
A dark green flame like a meteor was falling from the sky, plummeting towards the wasteland!
Perhaps the successive stimulations were too strong. At the moment when the "shooting star" appeared, a hazy and chaotic "idea" emerged in the Skull Demon's muddled "head" -
Ah, the third beating is coming...
