Chapter 11
"Mother, eat."
"You can't eat this." Yinglong slapped the flower out of Ao Jia's hand. This little thing always puts pretty things in its mouth to eat.
"Then let's eat this." He picked up another blade of grass.
"You can't eat this either."
On the meadow full of blooming flowers, Aojia was searching for something "edible".
He had just arrived on this land and was very curious about everything here. He would stop and look at almost every place he passed, and Yinglong would go with him.
Looking at it from all angles.
"What can we eat?" Ao Jia asked curiously, looking at the vast grassland.
"You can't eat anything."
"oh."
Why does this little thing keep thinking about food?
Jia'er tucked his chubby little hands into his pockets, looked down, and realized that the outside world was different from the East Sea Dragon Palace. In the East Sea, he could put anything he could grab into his mouth and eat it.
Looking up into the distance, what did he see? In an instant, he ran towards the distance at great speed, but the next second, his chubby little hand was grabbed by Yinglong.
"Where to?"
"Uh, ah."
He pointed ahead to a large tree he had never seen before, and he wanted to go there.
Yinglong took him there.
So tall?
The little one stood under the tree, looking up. In the East China Sea, no matter how much the coral reefs and seaweed grew, they would never grow this tall.
"Wow, it's so tall!" Xiao Long exclaimed in shock. The tree was covered with lush branches, and the leaves on the branches rustled in the wind.
He listened intently.
Yinglong stood with his hands in his pockets, waiting for the little baby to observe enough. He was curious about everything these days, and whenever he saw something he had never seen before, he would look at it for a long time before leaving.
He was standing motionless in front of the tree, seemingly pondering some philosophical question, with only his hair fluttering slightly in the wind. His tiny figure appeared so small compared to the tree.
What a fun little dragon! I wonder if Ao Guang looked like this when he was a child.
Wait until I've seen enough.
"Mother, let's go." Jia'er knew they had to catch up on the next leg of their journey.
"Walk."
Yinglong held Xiaolong's hand. It was getting dark, and she needed to find a quiet place for him to rest.
They had been on land for some time, but had not gone very far. Their original plan was to go to the farthest reaches of the Northwest, but their journey was progressing slowly.
Because it was Xiaolong's first time venturing out of the East Sea, he was curious about everything. Whenever they arrived at a fun place, he would beg his mother to stop and take a look, which slowed down their journey.
Fortunately, the mother and daughter didn't have any plans for the trip. Since they had finally come out of the East China Sea, they weren't in a hurry. They just wanted to wander around and have fun, so that the little dragon could have enough fun and see enough.
At night, Yinglong set up a barrier in an open space. It was warm and comfortable inside. She and the young dragon lay on a simple bed and looked up at the sky.
Something flashed by in the still, inky night sky.
"Mother, get out of here!" Jia'er said, pointing to the sky above.
"Those are little stars."
Yinglong told him that this was the first time Xiaolong had ever seen the night sky and a shooting star in his entire life.
He was born and raised on the seabed, and normally he would never have the chance to see the sky.
His father, the Dragon King of the East Sea, was also burdened with the responsibility of the entire dragon race, and could only be trapped in the deep sea... Such a scene was not easily attainable for Ao Guang.
Jia'er stared intently at the stars in the sky with his big, bright eyes, and he would grin and chuckle every time a shooting star passed by.
"What are you laughing at?" Yinglong asked him.
"Flash~"
Jia'er could only say "flash," and Yinglong understood. There was something moving and shining in the distance, flashing light. This was a strong stimulus to the child's visual system, easily attracting their attention and excitement, and making them laugh.
This child, who usually loves nothing more than the luminous pearls on the pillars in the East Sea, almost took one with him when he came out, but she stopped him.
"What wish does Jia'er want to make?" Yinglong murmured to the child. In the human world, there is a saying that one should make a wish upon a shooting star.
"Eat, eat...eat..."
...
All you do is eat...
Since coming ashore, this little thing can't name any of the things it eats; it just eats them.
Right now, he's probably thinking about some delicious food he's eaten, but he just doesn't know what it's called...
As night deepened, the shooting stars gradually diminished. Jia'er rubbed his hair, his soft strands becoming slightly disheveled from being touched by the blanket beneath him.
The blanket underneath was soft and thick, and the child could be completely wrapped up on it, sleeping very comfortably.
Since leaving the East Sea, Jia'er has been inseparable from this blanket when sleeping; she really loves it.
"This was made for you by your old father, the king."
"Made by hand..."
Jia'er mumbled something, his eyes gradually closing. After a while, he shook his head and curled up asleep in his mother's arms.
Yinglong stroked his soft hair, listened to his even breathing, and looked at the night sky. As the last shooting star streaked across the sky, she made a wish.
The next day at dawn, the mother and son left the plains and headed north. The weather would gradually get colder, and the places they traveled along the way would become increasingly remote.
Yinglong didn't care. The more remote the route, the better it would be for them to conceal their whereabouts. During this trip, Xiaolong's dragon clan identity must not be exposed, otherwise it might cause trouble.
Her only worry was that the little one was too curious about everything.
"Snake~"
Upon seeing the snake, the child mistook it for one of its own kind and tried to grab it. Yinglong, terrified, quickly knocked the snake away, reminding him that the child was just out for a meal and he didn't want to hurt him. He also promptly told the child:
"That's a snake, not a dragon. Do you see any horns? And it can't fly."
"Oh, snake."
I finally managed to walk, but I hadn't even taken two steps:
"Shrimp, shrimp..."
"That's a centipede! What kind of shrimp is that? Be careful it doesn't bite you..."
The chubby little hand let go.
No, no, this little thing has no idea what danger is. She has to find a way to train him.
This place is sparsely populated, and the mountains ahead are shrouded in mist. If we continue, we will probably be entering the territory of the mountain beasts, where ferocious beasts and monsters lurk everywhere, and danger lurks at every turn... Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to give this little guy some training and teach him a lesson.
Yinglong had planted the Dragon Soul Curse on Ao Jia beforehand, which would ensure his safety under any circumstances. Despite the training, she still did not want her child to be harmed.
"Come on, Jia'er, there are lots of other kids up ahead, you can go and make friends with them."
"Really, Mother?"
The little one followed closely behind his mother, step by step.
Before him stood towering mountains, and even if he flew over them, it would take some time. Yinglong made up his mind to slowly pierce through them, walking step by step.
As they reached the foot of the mountain, the atmosphere grew increasingly cold and gloomy, with sunlight barely reaching them. Yinglong could sense that there were many small demons lurking in the shadows, aware of their presence but too afraid to come out.
It seems her ancient dragon aura is still quite effective. These lesser demons are wise enough to hide and not dare to come out. If they had truly come out to fight her, she would definitely…
"Hehe, it smells so good..."
The sound came from afar, growing fainter and fainter.
Yinglong snapped out of her smugness. She was so engrossed in her own world that the little one had already been lured away by a flower fairy, and had even run quite a distance…
ah!
My little one!
Yinglong reacted immediately, and with a flick of her hand, she captured the flower fairies, immobilizing them. She quickly went closer to check on her child and found that Jia'er was already happily sniffing the flower leaves in his hand, saying, "So fragrant~"
It was obvious that the child had been poisoned by miasma. Yinglong rescued the child and gently waved his hand in front of him. The child's eyes slowly cleared.
This audacious demon dares to touch even her child!
This was the first time she had dealt with these monsters since leaving the East Sea. She hadn't wanted to act so soon, but they had already come knocking on her door.
I really didn't want to get hot-tempered on my first visit here, but it's good to make an example of someone first, so things will be easier to handle in the future!
Although the flower fairy was captivated, her entire body was trembling uncontrollably. It was clear that she wanted to beg for mercy, but she could no longer speak.
Yinglong, holding the child, walked to its side. With a wave of his hand, an eerie aura emanated from the flower demon.
"Ah!" A soft sobbing sound came, and the flower fairy's form became more and more transparent.
"I'll destroy all your cultivation, then let's see how you cause trouble."
After these words were spoken, the flower demon opened its eyes wide in terror. It wanted to escape, but there was nowhere to run. In its desperate struggle, it slowly let out a mournful cry as it was about to die.
Yinglong noticed its gaze fixed on a certain spot and knew it was acting under someone's orders. Otherwise, how could such a small, scattered demon have the audacity to kidnap her child?
"Ah, haha~" Jia'er watched the strange airflow slowly emerge, and he even wanted to reach out and touch it.
"Jia'er, don't move."
Yinglong held him in one arm and covered the flower demon's head with the other, slowly dissipating its cultivation.
"Waaaaah~"
The mournful cries grew louder and louder, and the flower fairy seemed to become more and more transparent. Jia'er couldn't understand it, so he looked at his mother with a puzzled expression.
Yinglong knew that countless eyes were watching them from the shadows. She didn't want to give up. Just as she was about to finish off the flower demon in front of her, Jia'er suddenly let out a cry.
He saw his flowers, but they were gone.
The flower fairy was no longer able to maintain its flower shape and was about to turn into a withered branch.
That yah sound...
Yinglong suddenly felt a pang of pity. This child had just left the East Sea and come into this world for the first time. The first thing he saw was the flowers of this world, wildflowers covering the mountains and fields. He ran among them, picking them one by one, smelling them, and never wanting to let go.
In his eyes, it was probably like the coral reefs on the seabed, colorful and very beautiful, which immediately reminded him of his origin - the East China Sea.
Jia'er loves flowers the most.
Thinking of this...
Alright, it's the first time she's out here, so for the sake of the child, I'll let this flower demon go for now.
Yinglong released the immobilization spell after his cultivation had been reduced to about the same level as Jia'er's. Seeing the flower demon on its last legs, with only a flower shell remaining, he figured it wouldn't be able to cause any more trouble.
She put Jia'er down with peace of mind, letting him touch the flower fairy.
The flower fairy lying there was still sobbing. Its thousand years of cultivation had been exhausted, and it thought it would lose its life today. But somehow, it managed to survive.
It didn't have time to check its own body; it only felt its form slowly withering away...
But the child in front of me is still touching his own branch again and again.
This child had a fair face with a pair of dark, bright eyes. He spoke unclearly and couldn't finish many sentences, but a pair of dragon horns on his head were very conspicuous.
Is this child a dragon? I wonder which race...
It was blind today; it deserved to almost die here.
As for the one standing there, it could easily dissipate the cultivation of a demon beast, so it dared not even look up at it.
"Ah." Jia'er touched the flower; the fragrance was still there, but the buds had become very small.
The flower fairy knew the child meant no harm, so it mustered its courage and slowly sat up.
"lead the way!"
The woman standing there spoke softly, but the two words she uttered were devoid of any warmth.
The little demon disregarded its own weakness; it knew what this person meant, and to save its life, it had to keep going.
"Flower!"
Seeing that her favorite flower was moving forward without stopping, Jia'er began to get anxious.
"Jia'er, walk slowly," Yinglong said, holding his hand.
This child is naive; he sees everything as fun. I'll have to teach him gradually.
Right now, however, she was going to storm the stronghold of these demons. She wanted to see what kind of monster dared to instruct such a lowly demon to come and take away her child.
The road was overgrown with thorns, and one could clearly feel the constant flow of energy around them, with many things rushing back and forth rapidly.
The three walked at a leisurely pace. Yinglong was calm and composed, while the one leading the way walked cautiously. Only Jia'er happily parted the grass with his hands all the way.
As they walked, the road ahead became more complicated. Many bushes appeared, and the weeds grew taller and taller, some reaching knee-high, almost engulfing Xiaolong. Seeing this, Yinglong simply picked him up and carried him along. Slowly, the three of them came to the entrance of a cave. They initially thought it was just an ordinary wild cave, but suddenly a wild beast's roar came from afar.
The roar was as deafening as thunder, echoing endlessly through the valley, even shaking the leaves of the surrounding trees.
Yinglong raised his hand and covered Jia'er's ears.
