It's a fishing rod! A fishing rod below the cliff.
Qiu Hu looked at the fishing rod and his heart warmed up. Someone had actually come here! "Ning Yizhan, you're amazing!"
"You know it," he said, sounding a little smug.
"Chou Hu pulled Ning Yizhan to the front, 'Come on,' she said, her hand trembling slightly as she picked up the fishing rod. 'This fishing rod looks like it's been used a lot; there are signs of wear and tear.'"
"Indeed, Ah-Hu, let's take a walk around here!"
"Let's go," they walked a few dozen meters further, and Qiu Hu seemed to see something. He excitedly covered his mouth and tugged at Ning Yizhan's clothes with his other hand, "Look, what's that!"
"Door, let's go, let's see what's inside?"
Qiu Hu hesitated, her steps faltering. What if things were really as they suspected? What was she going to say?
Ning Yizhan noticed her unease and cupped her small hand in his large palm. "Don't be afraid, I'm here! If anything happens, I'll help you!"
Qiu Hu felt the warmth in his hands and felt a warmth in his heart. He didn't say anything more, but followed Ning Yizhan to the door.
He raised his hand and knocked on the possibly waterproof door, but there was no response after a few knocks.
Did they guess wrong? Is there actually nothing here?
"Should we wait a little longer?"
"OK".
In fact, the people inside were still sleeping in, because last night they stared at the outside of their daughter's house for a long time until they got sleepy and went to bed.
The two heard a knock on the door and completely forgot where they were. Why would someone be knocking on the door?
In fact, neither of them realized that something was wrong.
Zhao Yan'er nudged Qiu Jing beside her, "Honey, go open the door, someone's knocking."
Qiu Jing was kicked a few times before he woke up.
"Oh, I'll go open the door," Qiu Jing said, still in a daze. He stood up and went to open the door. When he opened it, he saw a man and a woman standing in front of it. He didn't recognize the man, but he looked somewhat familiar. As for the woman, she looked too familiar. He was terrified and slammed the door shut.
If he wasn't mistaken, that was his precious daughter. She seemed to have just tried to speak when he shut her out. Help! Help!
"Wife, get up quickly, our daughter is here."
His words were like a jolt to the soul. "Huh? What did you say? Who's here?"
"Ah Hu, it's Ah Hu! She's here! I just locked her out! What do I do? What do I do now?" Qiu Jing was filled with regret for what he had just done.
"How did she find us? What should we do?" Zhao Yan'er was equally panicked and at a loss.
My brain suddenly short-circuited and I couldn't think of a solution at all.
"And, wife, she was just about to speak when she was turned away. And look at my hair, it hasn't been cut in years, and this beard, I'm so unkempt, what am I going to do?"
He's such a handsome dad in his daughter's eyes!
"I told you a long time ago to let me cut your hair, but you wouldn't listen. And now, you look awful. If I were Ah Hu, I wouldn't recognize you either." Zhao Yan'er retorted to her husband effortlessly.
Is it that serious?
Outside, Qiu Hu heard their conversation clearly, and he felt a mix of laughter and tears.
Meanwhile, Ning Yizhan was also listening, and he thought his future in-laws were quite easy to get along with.
He knocked on the door again. The people inside seemed to be hesitating. After thinking for a moment, they opened the door. A couple called out to Qiu Hu timidly, "Ah Hu."
For a moment, Qiu Hu wondered whether she should pay attention to them, but reason told her that she should. "Is it really you?"
“Yes, Ah Hu, I’m your mother,” Zhao Yan’er couldn’t help but step forward and hug her, sobbing softly.
"Ah Hu, it's me, your father, but I'm old now. Do you still recognize me?" Qiu Jing's voice sounded very different from before; it seemed more composed and weathered.
After a while, Zhao Yan'er finally let go of her and invited her into the house, "Ah Hu, come in and sit down."
Qiu Hu glanced at them a few times, then followed them inside and sat down. Qiu Jing brought him a cup of tea, saying, "Ah Hu, are you thirsty? Have some tea."
Seeing Ning Yizhan sitting next to Qiu Hu, Qiu Jing poured him another cup of tea. "Please have some!"
"You're too kind, thank you, Uncle. It's nothing, it's just what I should do!" Ning Yizhan picked up the cup of tea, took a sip, and thought the tea his father-in-law brewed was delicious.
Once everyone had calmed down, Qiu began to ask his question, "How long have you been here?"
At this point, Qiu Jing began to sigh, "I can't remember, but it's been about ten years, you've all grown up."
"Oh, then why are you staying here?" Qiu Hu continued to ask.
"Because someone is frantically looking for us, we dare not go out, dare not go back to find you, and your brother's illness is not cured yet, we have been researching it, and we have not dared to show our faces..." Zhao Yan'er wanted to explain to her one by one, but she didn't know where to start, so she could only say the important parts.
“And if we come here, we can see you more often,” Zhao Yan’er couldn’t help but step forward and hold Qiu Hu’s hand. “Ah Hu is excellent, always has been excellent, and my father and I are very proud of her.”
"So, this is where you are..."
Before Qiu Hu could finish speaking, Qiu Jing interrupted her, "Yes, we want to see you because of you. You are our precious child, but we can't always be with you. We're sorry, Ah Hu."
"It's alright, I've been fine," Qiu Hu said, though he was a little down, but hearing their explanation put him at ease. "So, are you coming back with us?"
