Chapter 77 The Best

It was lunchtime, but the old man hadn't come down. Qiu Hu didn't eat much either, so after finishing his meal, he took the food upstairs to find the old man.

Arriving at the old man's door, she knocked. A weathered voice came from inside, "Come in." Qiu Hu pushed open the door and saw the old man sitting alone on the sofa, not looking at her, seemingly lost in thought.

She called out, "Grandpa, dinner's ready!"

"Leave it for now, Ah Hu, have a seat, I have something to ask you."

Qiu Hu sat down on the single sofa next to the old man. "Okay, Grandpa, please ask!"

How did you find out about these things?

Qiu Hu didn't hide anything and answered truthfully: "I found out from my investigation. When I was abroad, I trained some people to form my own intelligence network. These things were because Qiu Bing initially wanted to steal my necklace, and I followed this lead to investigate."

"I see," the old man nodded. "She's building up her own power, which is good." He then asked, "Do you have any news about your parents?"

Qiu Hu shook his head dejectedly. "No, but I will continue to investigate. However, I found Qiu Xi." This was the only good news he could tell the old man. "He is not called Qiu Xi now. He is called Zhao Shi now. He is studying in Qincheng. He does not remember us, but his illness is not as serious as before. He can remember things. I am thinking that if there is a suitable opportunity, I will recognize him."

When Grandpa Qiu heard that his grandson had been found, he was quite excited. "Qiu Xi? That's good, that's good. It's good that he's still alive."

But what surprised him the most was Qiu Hu. Now that she was grown up, she could have been carefree, but now she had to run around for all sorts of things. It was the Qiu family that owed her. "Ah Hu, it is Grandpa who is sorry for you. He didn't take good care of you. He is sorry for your parents."

Qiu Hu's eyes were red, but he comforted the old man, "No, Grandpa."

"You are the best child of the Qiu family!" He could entrust the Qiu family to Qiu Hu with peace of mind.

After the old man finished his meal, she offered him a few words of comfort and said that she would come back to visit him often before leaving the old house.

Qiu Hu drove straight home and found two people sitting in the living room, a man and a boy, Ning Yizhan and Zhao Shi, staring at each other with disdain.

She could understand Ning Yizhan coming, but why was Zhao Shi here too? Was he here to see her, his older sister? Since she didn't know he was her sister yet, he must be here to see Wei Zhouyu.

"Why are you the only ones here? Where is everyone else?" She broke the silence between the two, who were clearly annoyed with each other.

Two voices rang out simultaneously, "Ah Hu, you're back?" "Sister Ah Hu, you're back?"

Ning Yizhan's expression softened when he saw Qiu Hu's expression turn disdainful again. "Ah Hu, who is this little brat?" He had seen him last time he came, and he was still here this time. It seems he has been here quite often.

Upon hearing "little brat," Zhao Shi immediately retorted to Ning Yizhan, "You're the little brat! My name is Zhao Shi, and I'm Sister Ahu's good younger brother. And who are you?"

"Hmph, good little brother."

Qiu Hu interrupted them, "Alright, stop arguing! What brings you all here?"

The two of them rushed to answer.

Come visit your sister!

"Isn't it perfectly natural for a boyfriend to come and see his girlfriend?"

Zhao Shi spoke with great excitement, while Ning Yizhan spoke slowly and meaningfully, clearly wanting Zhao Shi to hear.

"What? You're my sister's boyfriend?"

Ning Yizhan slightly curved his lips, pulled Qiu Hu into his arms, and asserted his dominance.

Seeing that Qiu Hu did not resist, she murmured, "How could my sister like you?"

These words were overheard by the two people next to them, and they were speechless.

"Ah Hu, kick him out."

"My sister would never do that; it saves us the trouble."

As soon as he said this, Wei Zhouyu, who was coming downstairs, heard it and was shocked. "Wow, Zhao Shi, you are really hypocritical. You don't talk like this at school."

Zhao Shi was quite aloof at school. He was only familiar with Wei Zhouyu, and that's when he spoke to her properly. Even so, he would occasionally say something sarcastic to her. This was the first time Wei Zhouyu had ever heard him speak in this tone.

"What do you know?" Sure enough, he spoke to her in a completely different tone.

Wei Zhouyu didn't argue with him, but instead grabbed his collar and went upstairs. "Come on, you pretentious guy, come up and do your group assignment!"

The group assignments given at school involved five or six people in each group, but she and Zhao Shi were in a group of only two. The reason was simple: the boy didn't like Zhao Shi, the girl didn't like Wei Zhouyu, and Zhao Shi wouldn't team up with anyone else, so Wei Zhouyu kept trying to get him to team up with her.

Zhao Shi was pulled upstairs, and he glanced back at Qiu Hu.
