Chapter 261 The Death Star Returns to the Wilderness (Seeking Monthly Tickets)

Chapter 261 The Death Star Returns to the Wilderness (Seeking Monthly Tickets)

Sel Wilderness, the base of the Blackrock Principality at the Chromium Mine.

The dwarf sorcerer Groni was fiddling with several dragon scales of different colors in his alchemy workshop, a satisfied smile gleaming in his single eye.

More than 20 years ago.

He was in charge of operating and maintaining the alchemical golems at the Blackrock Principality's base in the Black Oilfields. He was blinded in one of his experiments while trying to track a hybrid dragon.

However, he did not give up because of this.

After that, he realized that he had to be meticulous and careful in doing things, and never be careless.

After reflecting on his painful experience, he could hardly see the rudeness that dwarves are naturally prone to.

It was precisely because of this that his alchemy skills reached a new level.

Afterwards, he was transferred to this chromite mine stronghold as the chief sorcerer. All the other alchemists had to obey his orders and oversee the maintenance, improvement, and operation of various weapons, armor, alchemical golems, defensive heavy weapons, and so on.

"What a blessed creature! The Creator is so biased."

After studying and observing the structure of the dragon scales for a long time, the dwarf warlock took a break and remarked with emotion.

Armor that mimics the pattern of dragon scales offers significantly better defense than other types of armor. If one could understand the finer details of the dragon scale structure and create dragon scale armor accordingly, the defensive capabilities would undoubtedly be dramatically enhanced.

"but."

“The microstructure of that hybrid dragon scale was completely different from these scales; it was more complex and unique.”

Thinking about this...

The dwarf warlock's smile suddenly vanished. He raised his hand and touched the black eye patch covering his blind eye, the excruciating pain still vivid in his mind.

It was precisely because of this grudge of blindness.

He harbored a grudge against Red Iron Dragon.

Unfortunately, he was never able to track down the Red Iron Dragon. Later, he heard that it had appeared by launching a surprise attack on the stronghold of the Principality of Raymond and had performed quite powerfully, earning it nicknames such as Death Star and Sky-Splitting Wing.

Slowly.

Because they were helpless against the Red Iron Dragon and didn't even know where it was, they had no way to get revenge.

The dwarven warlock slowly buried his hatred deep in his heart and transferred it to other dragons.

Not long ago, when their sentries discovered a flock of dragons flying over their airspace, and they were all small dragons, he immediately issued the order to track and raid them. It was because of this decisiveness that they successfully captured three dragons in one go.

As long as the supporting troops arrive and transport these dragons away, he will be credited with the greatest achievement.

Such merit is enough to elevate his position even further.

Although he only had one eye, the dwarven warlock seemed to have already seen a bright and promising future.

"However, before that, let me collect some more interest."

A hint of resentment flashed in the dwarf sorcerer's eyes. He then walked out of the alchemy workshop and arrived at the heavily guarded rear of the camp.

In a cage made of blue, green, and black steel, and reinforced with alchemy, three dragons are bound tightly by chains engraved with runes, their ribs and wings pierced through.

"Dragon cubs, how are you feeling?"

The dwarven warlock chuckled as he spoke.

"Crawler, once I break free, I will tear your flesh off piece by piece, and let you die in endless agony."

The female black dragon let out a low, hoarse growl, her eyes filled with a sinister and dangerous glint.

"Really? That's a terrible threat."

The dwarven warlock stepped forward and had the guards pull on the chains. With a painful friction of the chains against flesh and bone, the black dragon was pulled tightly against the cage. All the runes on the chains lit up, immobilizing the weakened and severely injured dragon.

"Then you can start."

The dwarven warlock took out a sharp knife and began to carve off the black dragon's scales piece by piece, skin and flesh included.

Throughout the entire process, the black dragon remained silent, staring intently at the dwarf warlock as if trying to imprint his appearance firmly in its mind. Although young, the black dragon's sinister and vengeful nature was already evident.

"Is there anyone else who likes to shout?"

After collecting a bucketful of dragon scales and flesh, he looked at the other dragons.

“Dwarf, let us go, and we promise not to seek revenge. On the contrary, you will gain the friendship of dragons.”

The male green dragon snarled, “Friendship or hatred, it’s an easy choice, isn’t it?”

The green dragon is generally considered to be the most intelligent of the five-colored dragons. It enjoys intrigue and is good at deception and conversation.

Unfortunately, the dwarven warlock was well aware of this as well.

“I prefer hearing threats and curses to being bluffed.”

Ignoring the green dragon's various taunts, the dwarven warlock continued to pluck scales and flesh from its body.

Then, he walked up to the blue dragon.

The blue dragon is the largest, and the chains that bind it are the thickest and longest, with the densest runes.

Unlike the black and green dragons who choose to threaten and negotiate.

He simply lay quietly on the ground, completely relaxed, without any posture of attack or defense, as if he had already accepted reality.

"You little brat, aren't you going to say something?"

"I asked the dwarven sorcerer."

He thoroughly enjoyed humiliating dragons, these top-tier magical creatures.

Blue Dragon opened his eyes, glanced at him, and then remained silent, continuing to lie on the ground.

"Could it be that among you dragons, there's a saying that dragons that bite don't roar?"

The dwarven warlock laughed and then slowly peeled away the blue dragon's scales and flesh.

These are all good things; he wants to keep some for himself.

“You lowly thing, you will pay the price for it.”

Black Dragon barely managed to prop his head up and said.

The dwarven sorcerer glanced at him with pity and said, "What price? You think you have a chance to survive? A dragon cub like you truly doesn't know the immensity of the world. Once you're transported to the south, you'll know what real—"

Before he could finish speaking...

The dwarf warlock suddenly felt a tightness in his chest; an invisible sense of danger made his hair stand on end.

After a moment of stunned silence.

The dwarf warlock suddenly raised his head.

Without a sound, a crimson ominous star streaked across the sky, its dark red trail tearing through the gray-blue night, leaving behind a burning scar.

Dragon wings tearing the sky.

An ominous star representing death.

He's here.

A dark red trail scorched across the sky of the Sel Wilderness, and when the red iron dragon appeared like a meteor, the hearts of all the dwarves tightened instantly.

"A daring and audacious dragon!"

From the center of the mine came the roar of a warhammer pounding the ground, and the beard of a dwarf commander danced wildly in the wind.

"Let it taste the firepower of Blackrock!"

He shouted the order to fire.

At the same time, ten multi-barreled steam crossbows embedded in the ground roared first.

These three-story-high killing machines are driven by adamantite gears, and each crossbow arm, made of fine steel, is wrapped with lizard tendons soaked in whale oil.

Dozens of cannons rotated and fired simultaneously, creating a death zone in the air like a rain of armor-piercing crossbow bolts.

The anti-aircraft guns followed closely behind, their massive muzzles spewing out solidified energy balls as the magic stones embedded in their bases shone brightly.

However, the dragon that descended from the sky did not even flinch.

He simply avoided the attacks aimed at vital points, letting the other attacks fall on him.

The crossbow bolt struck his breastplate-like red scales, exploding not in blood but in blinding sparks.

The dwarven gunners watched in horror as the arrows twisted and broke.

Those deadly weapons that could pierce the heart of the earth dragon now struck the iron plate like fragile ice spikes. Then, the magic cannon's attack landed on the red iron dragon, causing its body to sway slightly and its scales to crack and shatter.

"Why does this dragon look so familiar?"

"It's him, the harbinger of death!"

"How many years has it been?! He's become even stronger, and he's back for revenge!"

The dwarf alchemist was deeply shaken; he recognized Garros.

Ignoring their injuries, the little dragons straightened up and looked up at the sky.

Amidst the intense gaze of the crowd, the red iron dragon folded its wings.

High spirits!

open!

Sizzle! Dense, shimmering golden lightning emerged from the Red Iron Dragon's body, causing his already incredibly strong physique to swell even further. Then, before any more artillery fire could strike, he plummeted to the ground with a terrifying force that seemed to pierce through the earth, falling in a straight line.

boom!

With a deafening roar, countless cracks spread across the earth's surface like lightning.

The gale, the shockwave, and the mixed earth and rocks surged and spread, and the steam crossbow array was immediately devastated.

Boom boom boom!

Before the dwarf guards could even react...

The golden, vibrant red iron dragon stretched out its wings and rose into the air.

The fierce impact from above didn't even leave him dizzy or sluggish for a second.

He took a deep breath, opened his dragon jaws, and bit down on flames and lightning. Then, spherical dragon breaths, resembling both flames and thunder, tore through the murky dust and shot in all directions, accurately hitting the ballistae and magic cannons.

Rumble!

The earth trembled, engines roared, and the Blackrock Duchy's war golem, 'Son of the Mountains,' was activated.

Three colossal machines, crafted entirely from metal and steel, leaped high into the air, propelled by flames behind them. Wielding battering ram-like fists, they charged directly at the Red Iron Dragon, the vibrational runes embedded in their fists shining like miniature suns.

Bang!!!

The moment Garros' right claw collided with the golem's iron fist, the shockwave shattered all the glass in the mine.

The red iron dragon's hooked claws dug into the golem's arm armor, and the muscle fibers tightened suddenly like a red steel noose.

*Sizzle!* The entire golem arm was ripped off alive!

Garros swung the heavy metal limb like a windmill and slammed it hard onto the head of the second golem. The collision of the two behemoths was like an avalanche, and flying gear parts cut the dwarven heavy infantry who couldn't dodge in half.

Another Son of the Mountains' arm transformed into a warhammer, coming from behind, attempting to break the Red Iron Dragon's spine.

The scales on the dragon's tail interlocked like a giant blade, moving with lightning speed, first sweeping across the golem's chest and cleaving it in two.

Son of the Mountains is just the beginning.

One after another, the golems charged toward the red iron dragon.

The valiant, heavily armored dwarf warriors also joined the attack.

These 'steel fortresses', clad in full plate armor with only their eyes showing, charged toward the red iron dragon, rotating saw blades springing from the edges of their tower shields, and their battle axes crackling with runic lightning.

When the first row of serrated shields collided with the dragon scales.

The red iron dragon inhaled and expanded its chest, squeezing the dwarves in the front row into iron-skinned meat patties. Its tail swept across, stirring up a storm of blood-red metal. The dwarves who were sent flying crashed into the ore refining tower, and molten iron poured into the crowd like a waterfall.

The invisible dragon-like giant arm ripped apart the heads of the golems that were attacking from both sides.

A warrior seized the opportunity to leap onto the dragon's back and slash at its neck. His battle axe shattered the cold-blown scales, but his body became sluggish due to the pervasive cold air, and he was instead pierced by the spitting thorns.

With the Red Iron Dragon's continuous and rapid claw sweeps, tail strikes, and wing slashes.

He withstood attacks from all sides, while simultaneously launching an unstoppable counterattack, dismembering the golem and crushing the dwarf warrior.

All the guards at the entire chromite mine were powerless against the rampaging Red Iron Dragon.

After another golem was cleaved in two by the dragon's winged slash, the morale of the dwarven defenders completely collapsed. The vast majority of dwarves stopped attacking the red iron dragon and scattered like rock rats, fleeing in all directions.

However, two enormous dragon shadows descended from the sky, blocking the main road and sealing off the mine.

The scattered remnants of the army and the low-level alchemical golems were unable to break through their interception; they were torn apart by the minions and swallowed by the dragon's breath.

"Web crawler, how are you feeling now?"

On the other side, Black Dragon asked in a sinister tone.

The dwarven warlock's expression was ashen as he manipulated the chains, attempting to kill all the small dragons, or at least take a few down with him.

But the runes on the chains had only just begun to light up.

boom!

With a violent tremor of the ground, the sound of a heavy object falling to the ground came from behind.

He turned around in horror and saw the fierce and menacing red iron dragon coldly looking down at him, with burning flames behind it, and scorched earth, wreckage, and ruins scattered all over the ground.

Whether it's defensive heavy weapons, or those alchemical golems and heavily armored warriors.

Nothing could stop him; they were all shattered by him.

"After more than twenty years, the Red Iron Dragon has finally..."

The dwarf warlock's expression shifted, finally revealing a resolute look, his entire body surging with magical energy.

However, before he could finish speaking or launch an attack, the dwarf warlock was smashed into a radiating mass of flesh by the red iron dragon's raised and lowered claws, under the gleeful yet awe-inspiring gaze of the surrounding dragons.

"He seems to want to say something? Whatever, he's just a worthless insect."

Having never faced one directly, Garros had no impression of the dwarven warlock, and felt nothing at all, as if he had crushed an insect.
