Chapter 51 The New King of Bear Ridge

Chapter 51 The New King of Bear Ridge

As darkness fell, Garus remained hidden high in the clouds, looking down at the two ferocious bears chasing and fleeing below.

Within the Earth Bear race, challenges for leadership positions among members of the same race are legitimate and can be conducted in one-on-one duels, much like knightly duels.

But what if it's an attack from a dragon like Garus?

All the bears will unite against the common enemy and fight back until their morale collapses or their leader is killed. In this case, luring the bear leader away alone can reduce a lot of unnecessary trouble.

On the ground.

Mobel's muscles were taut as he ran, not daring to relax for a moment.

Runes shimmered beneath its fur, granting it greater power than usual, but even so, it couldn't outrun Chief Gore, and the distance between them was gradually closing.

Although its straight-line speed is not as fast, the young bear is more agile.

Mobel deliberately chose the most rugged routes to escape.

Sharp basalt pillars, fallen rotten trees, and hidden fissures caused Old Gore some trouble, slowing him down several times and preventing him from catching up with Mobel in a short time.

But as time goes by...

The old bear's pursuit became increasingly ferocious.

It smashed through giant trees that would take several people to encircle, crushed rock pillars blocking its path, and burned with murderous intent in its brown eyes.

Not long after.

The two bears chased each other until they reached the eastern cliff of the conifer valley.

With the road ahead blocked, Mobel stopped.

"You can't escape."

The old bear roared and charged towards Mobel on all fours.

"etc!"

Mobel retreated to the edge of the cliff and shouted.

This action startled the old bear slightly, but the murderous intent in his eyes did not fade.

"Trying to beg for mercy now? It's too late!"

"If you dare to challenge me without understanding the difference in strength, you will surely die."

It is old and gradually weakening.

Mobel, this young, tyrannical bear who dared to provoke him, had to be killed to prevent future troubles, otherwise he himself would be the one to die in the future.

"I'm not the one challenging you."

Mobel snorted and said, "Old man, you're the one who doesn't understand the situation."

at the same time.

Gore also vaguely sensed that something was amiss.

A highly aggressive gaze was descending from the sky, locking onto him, emanating a sense of danger far surpassing that of the rebellious son before him.

I looked up.

The seven-meter-long, incredibly strong red iron dragon was reflected in Gore's vision, causing his bear-like face to change.

The appearance of this red iron dragon is somewhat familiar; I've seen it before.

However, the Red Iron Dragon back then did not exude such a powerful aura of oppression and did not make it feel dangerous, but now it is completely different.

"Damn it! You actually bowed and scraped to dragons! You led them here!"

Gore roared angrily at his rebellious son.

"It is my honor to serve the great Galus!"

Mobel was not ashamed, but proud, and said with his chest puffed out.

This sight infuriated Gore, who wanted to tear it apart, but the greatest threat at the moment came from the sky.

Under its gaze, the last rays of the setting sun pierced through the clouds, gilding the dragons' scales with a blood-red hue.

The dragons circling in the sky suddenly spread their wings completely. With a body length of seven meters, they had a terrifying wingspan of nearly twenty meters. As the dragons spread their wings, the fine, fiery red scales between the wing membranes rubbed against each other, scattering sparks that were particularly dazzling in the dim sky.

The red iron dragon began to dive.

Its movements were not swift, but rather carried a suffocating sense of oppression. Its wings tore through the air like terrifying blades, and its dragon body plummeted straight down like a javelin. The shrill sound of the air being torn apart grew louder and louder as it approached. Its scales were also gradually turning red, as if they contained explosive energy.

Under the oppressive force of Garos's dragon might, Gore instinctively wanted to retreat.

However, the imposing aura that had been built up over the years of ruling the bear pack caused the leader of the raging bears to straighten its chest, spread its arms, and raise its head to roar at the dragons that were charging at top speed.

"Come on, dragon!"

Flames erupted from its body, and layers of earth and rocks surged and covered its surface, especially its arms, which formed lava-like armor under the scorching heat of the flames, while the surrounding air twisted and steamed.

In mid-air.

Galos, trailing dense sparks behind him, descended from the sky like a crimson meteor, approaching the leader of the raging bears.

In the instant before contact, his claws extended, gleaming with a cold, metallic sheen.

The raging bear leader roared simultaneously, raising its arm covered in thick lava and striking with its massive paw.

collapse!

A deafening explosion rang out.

Countless pebbles flew like bullets, and a strong wind carrying dust and flames swept over Mobel, making its fur swirl back and almost blinding it. Then it felt its footing go awry as the cliff collapsed, sending Mobel plummeting downwards with the boulders.

Amidst the murky dust, Galus straightened up, the sparks on his wing membranes standing out starkly in the twilight.

The bear leader's forearm was bent at an odd angle, having been smashed off in the collision, and its body was covered with mottled, charred marks from the explosion.

"Submit to me, and I will spare your life."

"Garos said in a deep voice."

His response was the roar of the old bear and the massive bear claws that slammed down, carrying lava, striking Garus's shoulder with a thunderous sound.

Crash! The dragon scales shattered, unleashing a powerful shockwave and raging flames.

The old bear's arm was knocked away, and it staggered back a few steps. Before it could regain its footing, Garus's dragon wings transformed into a crimson giant blade, slashing towards its chest. In time, it raised its arm, which was covered with the thickest lava.

The next instant, lava splattered everywhere.

Garros felt as if he had struck sticky asphalt. Although the Blade Dragon Wings sliced through its lava armor and left a wound on the old bear's arm, they failed to cleave it in two.

Without the boost from a dive, the Dragonwing Blade's power is significantly reduced.

Whoosh! Before the Bear Chieftain's counterattack could arrive, Garus suddenly soared into the sky, then spread his wings and swooped down.

Unlike other young dragons who, once they get carried away in a fight, forget their aerial advantage and stay on the ground to fight, Garus skillfully utilizes his strengths.

The red iron dragon hovered in the air for a moment, adjusting its angle.

Immediately, sparks flew from between its wings as it swooped down once more toward the bear leader.

The leader of the bears stomped its paws on the ground.

Lava balls rose up and hurtled towards Garros, but he either dodged them with his agile movements or shattered them into a rain of fire and debris. His speed did not decrease, and he closed in on the leader of the bears in an instant.

The dragon's wings swept past at lightning speed, slashing towards the bear leader, who once again blocked with its bear arm.

Tear!

A severed arm shot into the sky, blood and lava splattering in mid-air.

Gore's eyes widened in disbelief.

The Earth Bear's most powerful arms were broken in two ways: one arm was smashed, its bones broken, and it was twisted and unable to be lifted; the other arm was severed.

Bang!

Galos lashed out with his tail, striking the bear chief in the chest and sending it tumbling across the ground, creating a long furrow that barely came to a stop nearly a hundred meters away.

"I'll give you one more chance: surrender or die."

"Garos said in a deep voice."

"To die in battle is the glory of the Bear Clan!"

Gore pushed off the ground with his hind legs, his lava armor covering his entire body, his eyes bloodshot, and charged toward Garros with a thud.

During this dangerous battle, it felt as if it had become young again, its heart pounding powerfully in its chest, and its blood flowing rapidly like a river.

Galos flapped his wings and soared into the air, avoiding the attack of the bear leader.

A burst of electric fire dragon breath enveloped it, and the dazzling flames and lightning engulfed the bear chieftain, making it unable to stand up. It roared and struggled, but its resistance quickly weakened, and its fur and flesh gradually turned into charcoal.

Not long after.

Mobel spat out the pebbles from his mouth and climbed back up the cliff.

"Ah, great Dragon Lord, your heroic figure makes the sun and moon pale in comparison."

"I knew it. This old man is as vulnerable as a withered leaf in front of you."

It ran over, crouched down, and cautiously touched Galos's paw with its nose, continuing its fawning, "Your heroic figure descending from the sky is just like a legendary meteor shower! Those foolish bears, seeing this, would surely be so frightened they'd wet themselves, and would all submit to you, hailing you as the King of Bear Ridge. I, Mobel, swear I will always be your most loyal henchman; if you tell me to go east, I will never go west!"

Galos glanced at it.

"You seem to have inherited none of your father's bravery and indomitable spirit."

He said.

Mobel chuckled and said proudly, "So I survived and continued to smell the wonderful air, while it became a lifeless corpse, a stupid fool who only knew how to act recklessly, and eventually became nourishment for the wilderness."

In this wilderness, courage is certainly admirable, but only the wisdom to survive can enjoy the fruits of victory.
