Chapter 1042: A School Like a Vine Birdcage

The shop owners are an elf couple. They have silver hair and wear aprons. They are busy serving students who come to buy breakfast.

"I want two cherry parfaits, Sister Tess~" Charlie spoke first, and seemed to be very familiar with the owner.

"Okay. It's Charlie. Are you back now?" The mature elf sister took out a lotus leaf soaked in clean water, put the cut triangular pastry into it, and then dotted a few big cherries on it and handed it to Charlie.

"Yeah, but I'm just passing through with a friend this time. I'll come back and stay longer next time."

"Haha, that's hard to say. You young guys have different ideas every day. Who knows where you'll end up by then."

"Okay, here, is this your friend?" She looked at Loran Hill, who no longer had pointed ears, with a little surprise and curiosity.

"Yes, this is Jialan, from Emenas. I am taking her to the Emerald Court."

"What a nice name! It sounds like an oriental name. I haven't been to the East for a long time, and now I miss it a little bit." The mature elf woman handed two pastries to Charlie and Roland.

"Then we'll go. Come back next time~"

Afterwards, Charlie and Loran Hill walked out together and then slowly explained.

"I used to come to this shop often when I was in school, so I'm very familiar with it. I've always liked their pastries. They're not too hot and are paired with chilled fresh fruits. They taste great~" Xia Li strongly recommended.

Loran Hill smiled and nodded, then began to taste it in small sips.

The pastry seems to be steamed with rice flour mixed with other ingredients. It is soft and glutinous but not too sticky. The cherries on top taste cool, sour and sweet, which dilutes the monotony of the pastry itself and brings a different kind of stimulation, with a smooth and refreshing feeling.

“It’s delicious.”

"I'm right, right? Hehe."

After eating the cakes, the two walked along the stone path shaded by tall trees. After walking for a while, they finally arrived in front of the school.

The lawn in front of the school is paved with white stone slabs, gradually connecting the forest and the school. There are no walls here. Standing under the tall tree canopy in front of the school, you can see most of the buildings in the school from a distance.

The largest and most famous building among them is naturally the huge auditorium classroom that looks like a birdcage. A class is currently being taught inside. A forest elf teacher is demonstrating spells, and one emerald bird after another takes shape in front of him, and then flies around in the tall birdcage auditorium.

Soon, a burst of applause came from the Birdcage Auditorium.

Apart from the largest auditorium classroom, other teachers and students were teaching their respective courses on the lawn under the trees or in the tall tree-shaded classrooms.

The students and teachers here either sit or lie down, with no specific restrictions on posture. Some even lean on the soft white tiger body, watching the teacher's lectures. Only when they feel the need, they will take out the book to write down something.

From the various subtle sounds coming from the wind, Loran Hill gradually perceived and understood the content of these lectures, which roughly included mathematics, history, culture, extraordinary practice, combat, herbalism, and even some niche aesthetics.

If compared with Emenas, this place is like the central school building where first-year students stay and part of the Walled City Academy, and the courses taught are very similar.

However, it does not involve the religion, death, priests, chaos, and purification content of the Temple College, nor does it involve the famous courses of the Tower College and Pier College, such as science, alchemy, military, code, dragon transformation, etc.

Although there are fewer subjects, considering that this is not the largest school in the forest, we have to adapt to local conditions and consider the school conditions. This is already very good.

"How is it? Doesn't it feel familiar and friendly?" Xia Li turned her head and said with a smile.

"In fact, I went to Emenas once, and that time I also followed my instructor to exchange and learn."

"Emenas is indeed very big, and the sages are very powerful, but I still prefer it here because it's more comfortable here. I don't have to worry about too much, and there's not such fierce competition."

"Ahaha, doesn't that sound a bit boastful? Actually, sometimes we envy those students who can get into Emenas. But if they don't make it, we won't regret it too much."

"I'll take you on a tour around the academy, so it won't be a wasted trip."

Afterwards, Charlie took Loran Hill for a stroll around the school in the shade of the trees, introducing to her what courses were generally taught here, where the dining rooms were, the group of mushroom-like houses behind the mountain wall, which were the student dormitories, and the caves and lakes where students usually played and gathered.

By the time the two of them had roughly walked around the school, it was already noon.

"Then it's time to go, Jialan."

After returning to the town, Charlie and Loran Hill boarded the white "flying bird" again, and then gradually got out of it as the wings flapped and swayed, and jumped back into the vast forest.

This time, as they gradually went deeper into the forest, the surrounding environment also changed a lot.

What we see are no longer the villages and small towns with dozens or hundreds of people gathered in the past, but cities with large populations.

Most of these cities are made of wood or white rocks, built on rivers and under the shade of trees. From time to time, airships and monsters land, and forest elves shuttle through them.

The city is not a single plane, but a complex three-dimensional structure, built on the hillsides and among the giant trees.

After passing through a dense forest one time, the scenery in front of them suddenly brightened, and a vast field appeared in their eyes.
