Noyes, the head of the Anemi family, was wearing neat and exquisite golden armor and riding on a horse. He was at the back of the team, looking at the burning flames in front of him and sighing.
"As expected of the prestigious Helis family, which has been rooted in Hopeland for nearly a thousand years, they have such a hidden card, and they keep it so well-kept secret. I've never even heard of it before."
“What a pity.”
Feng Nai stood under her horse, with a group of guards in front of her. She asked curiously, "Why is it such a pity for my father?"
Noyce bent down and touched Fengno's hair.
"It's a pity that times have changed. There will be no Helis family in the future."
Some dark shadows began to appear in the corner of the Helis family's house. These shadows sneaked in through the side door opened by internal spies and began to run rapidly towards the main building of the Chamber of Commerce, because the core members of the Helis family were there.
"There are thorns..." Before the patrol members could say anything, they were killed by the attacking black shadow with a sword, and fell down unwillingly with their mouths covered.
These assassins attacked and killed their way through and quickly rushed into the main building of the Chamber of Commerce, only to be stopped by the guards on duty. An urgent bronze bell rang, and some armed personnel in the surrounding area began to rush over quickly, but time was running out.
Green poisonous smoke filled the lobby of the main building, blocking the rescuers. The assassins rushed directly up the stairs, opened the doors and searched each room one by one.
Since Melu was in charge of the household affairs during this period, the former head of the family, Hoss, had moved to the other side with Bell to avoid suspicion, and the only direct member of the Helis family still staying in the main building was Melu.
Some maids saw the sword-wielding assassins, screamed in panic, and then fell down with blood on their faces.
In a small room where cleaning tools and sundries were usually stored, the head maid forced Melu into a low cabinet, wanting her to hide inside.
"Let me out, Aunt Lig, they're coming for me."
Melu looked at the old head maid. She now had some wrinkles on her forehead and her hair was messy.
"Shut up, what nonsense are you talking about? Live your life well."
After saying that, she closed the cabinet door and moved other miscellaneous items in to block the inconspicuous small cabinet in the corner.
Melu hid in the closet. It was pitch black, and she could only see a ray of light coming through the gap in the closet door. The only sounds she could hear besides her own heartbeat were the nervous breathing of the head maid outside.
Then a burst of hurried footsteps came from far away, the sounds of breaking doors, shouting, sword stabbing, falling, and rummaging, getting closer and closer, and finally the door of this storage room was kicked open.
The head maid seemed to resist for a moment, and then there was a dull thud, and a body leaned against the cabinet door and slowly slid down, covering the last exposed part of the small cabinet.
Meilu held her breath, tears streaming silently.
