Southern Hopeland.
Although it experienced chaos some time ago, after the establishment of the New Vilga Alliance, it has become more prosperous than before. After separating from the Frost Rose, it has become a place where trade between the two sides converges, and there are more ships coming and going.
Because the Carites Chamber of Commerce is an advocate of the new alliance, it has gained more seats and benefits within the alliance. Also, because of Loran Hill's proposal, the alliance will use more of its income for basic public welfare projects, such as building schools, roads, hospitals, etc.
At first, thanks to the detailed plan left by Loran Hill, everyone basically followed the instructions. However, they inevitably encountered some problems in their daily lives. When these problems needed to be solved by themselves, they also had to bear the heavy responsibilities. At this time, everyone began to miss the eldest lady, but there was nothing they could do, so they could only learn to solve them slowly by themselves.
Although business problems can be explored and negotiated on their own, the lack of high-level strength and backbone has slightly reduced the voice of the Carites Chamber of Commerce after Loran Hill left. The overall strength of the Chamber of Commerce is indeed very strong, but it lacks someone who can control the overall situation and integrate it.
Ceres is retiring in the Southern Islands. Although Chelsea has seniority, he is not suitable to be a leader. Other senior executives, the leaders of the three major fleets are away all year round, and many other managers and workshop executives were recently promoted by Loran Hill. They are all capable people, and they are somewhat dissatisfied with those who are mediocre but have seniority, but they also feel that everyone is about the same, so why should you stand above me?
If we really want to discipline this group of talents, only when Loran Hill is there can they be convinced.
In this way, on major events, the Chamber of Commerce’s top leaders had to hold a voting system, and sometimes even had to ask Chelsea to send a letter to Loran Hill to inquire about the final decision.
In the early morning at the port, the snow had slowly melted, with only a small amount of snow remaining on some ropes wrapped around the dock. Ships were docked at the port, some were unloading cargo, and some were preparing to sail.
At the port, some passengers preparing to board the ship are queuing up. Due to the recent unrest, they need to verify their identity and register when entering and leaving the port.
"Name?"
In a small house by the harbor, a recorder wearing a warm hat, holding a pen in his hand, with a stack of forms in front of him, began to ask. The fire in the room was burning brightly, and there were many people waiting outside.
"Bud." A short boy answered. His skin was a little dark. Although he was not very old, there were many calluses on his hands from hard work. It was obvious that he was a hard-working person, although he was not very good-looking.
"Where are you going?" The recorder looked up and asked in a businesslike manner.
"Western Niedshire." The boy said this somewhat unfamiliar word.
"It's not called West Wind anymore, it's called Clansia. It's a bit far for you to go there. Even if you take a boat to the northern port, you still have to cross the Wind's Rest Wilderness and some mountains and forests." The recorder asked suspiciously.
"Yes, I have prepared food and money." The young man shook the heavy bag and answered in an honest voice.
"That's not the point I'm talking about. Oh, never mind. Do you have a guarantee?"
"Yes." The young man carefully took out an envelope from his pocket. The exquisite envelope seemed extremely inconsistent with his shabby clothes.
"It's so precious." The recorder took it, opened it, pulled out the paper inside, and the pattern on it was revealed.
"The emblem of the Carlites Chamber of Commerce, quite impressive! Let me see which lord is guaranteeing you... Miss... Miss Loran Hill."
The recorder looked up in shock. He had recorded the number of thousands of people traveling by boat this month, but this was the first time he had seen a handwritten letter of guarantee from this young lady. This guy looked so poor, how could he be related to that adult?
He was really puzzled, but the seal and text on the letter of guarantee could not be faked. He had worked in the Alliance Guild before, so he was naturally very familiar with the authenticity of such things.
"I really can't tell." He sighed, and then put away his previous casual attitude and concentrated on filling out the form. Then he asked Bard if he needed any help. The north is quite chaotic now, and it is not safe to go there. Should he find some large caravans and set off with the team?
Bud said no, he was not worried about his safety, then took the sign given by the recorder and went to the port to prepare to board the ship.
The port was busy, some ships were unloading, some were loading, and some were being repaired and inspected. Some passengers were sitting by the port waiting.
The boat Bud was going to take was still loading and he would have to wait a while to board. He found an old cushion, wiped off the snow and sat down. Anyway, the little water could not wet his thick pants, and he was very strong, so he would not catch a cold.
"Is that Bud?" A voice came from the side. The boy turned around and saw a young man carrying a long box.
"It's really you! I almost didn't recognize you. I'm Lavoisier, an apprentice at the alchemy workshop near the restaurant where you used to work. I used to eat there often."
"It's you." Bard then recalled that this alchemy apprentice was relatively wealthy and always ordered white bread and ate very well.
"You resigned later, right? It's been a long time since I saw you."
"Well, then I went to work in a brewery for a while."
"Oh, a lot has happened recently." Lavoisier sighed and then asked.
"Are you going back home?"
"No, I'm going to visit a friend's hometown."
"Visiting friends? That's nice too. I can't do that. I don't have many friends, and my teacher is gone now."
