The system message was as dark as ink, carrying a sinister air. Loran Hill's heart sank. She squeezed the blood from her leg, healing the wound before slowly descending again, hovering high above the canyon. Unfortunately, the strange fish was no longer visible in the river, leaving only the quiet sound of flowing water.
The frightened feeling from before disappeared, and the system remained silent.
The girl stretched out her right hand, and a fiery red light flowed into the surface of the river in the canyon like a waterfall, reflecting every inch of the river water. Loran Hill's eyes were burning, and he searched for a long time, but still could not find the figure of the strange fish.
strangeness?
She extinguished the fire that covered an area of nearly 10 miles, and then thousands of winds began to flow in the magnificent river valley, constantly blowing every corner inside, every crevice in the rocks, and every shadow under the grass.
I can't see it on the river surface, nor in the canyon. I wonder where did that strange fish go?
Could it be hiding underwater? But the deepest part of the river is only ten meters. With the huge body of that strange fish, it should be quickly discovered on the surface of the river.
In the end, Loran Hill still couldn't find any trace of the strange fish. She had no choice but to return to her tent.
After fixing the campfire and packing up her belongings, she moved the tent to the top of the canyon cliff away from the river. Although the wind was strong there, it was at least safe. Even if the strange fish appeared again, it would have to jump several thousand meters high to reach the place.
After a slightly tense night's rest, the girl set off again the next day. This time she did not stop and flew directly from high altitude to Emenas, where she should have the information she needed to know.
--------------------
The spacious Blue River is still surging, and the solid and magnificent bridge spans the north and south. The bridge is several thousand meters long and connects Emenas with the plains on the south side.
By the time Loran Hill arrived at the Unfallen Bridge, it was almost dusk. The river reflected the setting sun, shimmering with light. In the purple-red sunset glow, the bridge lights had been lit one by one. From a distance, these bridge lights looked like the marks on a ruler, neatly measuring the river.
All students must register at the bridge gate before returning. They are not allowed to enter the campus at will, as they will be intercepted by patrolling senior members of the Order Department. Those who attempt to force their way in may even be attacked. These Order Department members are mostly Sequence 6 or higher, the elite among the students, and difficult for ordinary people to resist.
Loran Hill also landed obediently at the city gate, filled in his name and information as required by the form, and then took the magic motorcycle back to the central school building.
When he opened the dark dormitory door, he found it empty. Only then did Loran Hill realize that he had come too early and wasted a day or two of his vacation.
But this is not the important thing at the moment. After putting down her suitcase, she jumped directly from the window sill of the dormitory, spread her emerald green wings, and flew directly to the north. The tall tower that reached into the sky was faintly visible on the top of the mountain.
Shaking off the few snowflakes on her dress, the girl stretched out her palm and pressed it on the stone slab. Then the gem on the stone door lit up and opened to both sides.
As you walk into the quiet observatory, the candlesticks between the layers of bookshelves are lit, spreading deeper into the room.
A petite figure with black hair was still sitting upright on the tall wooden chair, reflecting the candlelight beside her, writing something quietly.
Loran Hill walked forward lightly, and finally slowly stopped in front of the Book Witch who looked like a loli but had actually lived for who knows how many years.
"You've come so late, there must be something urgent, little Loran." Si Ye raised his head, his dark red eyes looking at the silver-haired junior in front of him, and spoke slowly, showing the calmness and composure of a senior.
"Well, yesterday I encountered a very large and strange fish. It must be a Chaos Phantom."
Loran Hill began to recount her experiences and doubts in detail. As the witch in charge of books, this senior should understand something.
After listening to the silver-haired girl's description, Si Ye remained motionless, his long black hair and pale skin like an enamel doll.
After a long time, she finally said, "Well, I understand."
Is that all? Is there no other explanation? Doubts thickened in Luo Lanxier's heart, and he couldn't help but ask.
"Senior Si Ye, could you please share your thoughts?"
The enamel-like witch was silent for a moment before speaking again, "If you encounter me next time, you'd better run away quickly and don't give it any extra thoughts. The sages will handle this matter."
After asking some more questions, Si Ye refused to say more, so Loran Hill had to say goodbye and leave.
Just as she was about to leave, a pale yellow page fluttered down in front of her, and then Si Ye's voice could be heard from behind: "Regarding the Chaos Disaster, many unofficial historical records are confusing and conflicting. If you really want to understand, you can consult these books; the records there are more realistic."
"Thank you." Loran Hill took the paper, turned around to express his gratitude, and then left the quiet observatory.
Long after Loran Hill left, another voice appeared in the quiet room.
"Si Ye can't speak again. You're going to make little Luo Lan feel very cold."
A slightly sweet voice sounded, and then a girl in a pink and white princess dress walked out of the mirror, her hands resting on the back of a wooden chair.
"Chris, you don't have to remind me." Si Ye puffed up his cheeks slightly.
"Ah, who would have known that the dean of High Tower Academy is a loli who is afraid of speaking long sentences, hehe." Chris pinched Si Ye's puffy cheeks from behind, and then leaned her head on his shoulder.
Just as Si Ye was about to raise the book to hit someone again, Chris's figure flashed by, and then she walked out from another mirror again and stood under the moonlit windowsill.
