Passing through the sky of Emenas and breaking through the clouds surrounding the towering peak, Loranhill finally landed slowly on the stone steps of the tower, then walked forward, pressed the gem on the stone door, and then entered the highest room in the academy.
Candles lit up one after another, and Loran Hill walked deeper into the observatory. He still saw the Book Witch sitting on a tall wooden chair. But unlike in the past, there were two other people in the large room today.
One was a sleeping girl in black lying on a sofa. Her long hair shone like a flame, a brilliant, radiant glow that could not be ignored. With her breathing, the light in her hair flickered, as if it had life. When Loran Hill walked past the sofa, she felt a warmth wash over her, bringing a sense of comfort in the winter.
The other one was a girl standing in front of the window. She was wearing a pink and white pleated princess dress, which made her look cute and lively. However, because her back was facing the room, Loran Hill could not see her face for the time being.
"Luo Lan came very quickly." Si Ye said softly. As long as the bytes were not too long, she could say it easily.
"Well, I came here after seeing the note. What does the Dean of Siye Academy want to talk to me about?"
"It's a small matter." Si Ye paused for a moment, then turned his gaze to the red-haired girl sleeping beside him.
Just as Si Ye took a deep breath and was about to speak, the girl in the pink and white dress appeared behind her. It was obviously a sudden thing, but her appearance seemed to be natural and coordinated.
"Let me do the talking." The blonde girl in the pink dress gently placed her hand on Si Ye's shoulder. Although she often sabotaged Si Ye in private, Chris would never tease her good friend in front of outsiders.
"This child is also a student at the Walled City Academy, but she's a temporary transfer here. She's unfamiliar with the school and lacks some common sense, so I need your help in taking care of her."
"Me?" Loran Hill tilted his head, feeling a little surprised.
Even though it was their first meeting, her keen perception kept telling her how dangerous this sleeping red-haired girl was. The magic and power that rose and fell with her breathing, even without erupting, contained terrifying power.
"Yes." Chris nodded slightly and continued to explain.
"You've been having some issues and troubles lately, haven't you? While talent is one thing, it still takes time to accumulate strength."
"You will inevitably encounter some dangers during this period. If you are directly swallowed and corroded by the Chaos Phantom, it will be difficult for you to escape now."
This was indeed true. Two encounters this semester had nearly devastated Loran Hill. The erosion and distortion of the mind caused by the Chaos Phantom might not be felt deeply or significantly by others at a distance, but for someone as acutely aware as Loran Hill, the dizziness and discomfort were magnified nearly a hundredfold.
At her current level of Devil Sequence 4, it would be difficult for her to remain unaffected. She would likely have to wait until she reached Angel Sequence 5 to isolate herself from this mental erosion. During this period of inactivity while she was improving her strength, her safety would be a serious concern.
Her mythical talent made it difficult to sneak attack her, and if she was prepared, she could use Trinasha's hairpin in the event of an emergency. However, the Chaos Phantom was different. While being stunned and eroded by it, she might feel sick and dizzy before she could even pull out the butterfly hairpin, making it impossible to trigger the special magic within.
But what does this have to do with taking care of this red-haired girl?
Just as Loran Hill was thinking this, Chris continued to explain.
"Although this child is still asleep, she is an undisputed Sequence 9 witch. With her strength, no one can steal your attention as long as she is by your side."
"But there will always be times of separation in life, and it's difficult for us to be together all the time." Loran Hill felt that the other party should be able to think of this problem.
"Yes, so I prepared a new mirror for you." Chris smiled when she said this.
"Mirror?"
"Yes, Chris is the witch who travels through the magic mirror." Si Ye finally spoke at this time, and then explained the identity of the girl with blonde hair and pink dress.
"The magic mirror I gave you last time was made by her."
"Chris is also a witch, and she lives a long time." Si Ye divided his words into several parts before finishing.
"Don't mention my age, Si Ye, I will always be a girl~" Chris hugged Si Ye with a doting smile on her face, looking very 'kind'.
Is this the witch? It seems they have a good relationship, Loran Hill thought. Indeed, after hundreds of years, everyone in his memory has passed away one by one, and only his fellow witches remain. This kind of relationship is plain and long-lasting.
"Come to think of it, since the last witch tea party, this is the time when Emenas has gathered the most witches." Chris suddenly said with a sigh.
"A hundred years have passed without me noticing. I remember the last time we gathered, we were discussing the truce between the Snow Flower Alliance and the Verdant Empire. Seventeen witches came then, which was an unprecedented event. But now, there are probably only six in Emenas."
"Are there 6?" Hearing this, Loran Hill also became curious. This was the first time she wanted to know about the other witches.
Chris nodded and said, "There are now four of us in the observatory, plus a Gem Witch who lives in seclusion in a small town to the west. Finally, there's another witch. Although I don't know her exact identity, I have a few suspects."
"Witches are all masters of power. Although they can control it very well, they can still vaguely sense each other."
