High Tower Academy, White Tower Restaurant, overlooking the north.
The white tower standing on the mountainside is about ten stories high, and the middle three floors are where students eat.
If you walk closer and stand at the foot of the tower, you can probably only see the rough gray-white stones, a few mosses in the cracks, and water marks left by wind and sun. But if you walk further away, stand at the foot of the mountain or fly in the air, you will feel that the elegant shape of the White Tower is in perfect harmony with the rocks, clouds and pines behind it, which has a special beauty.
It was the weekend, and some students had chosen to dine here, but thankfully it wasn't crowded and the crowds were rather sparse. Most of the students at High Tower Academy were absorbed in studying various strange knowledge or cultivating themselves, unlike those at Walled City Academy, who were keen on socializing. Some people say that High Tower Academy students are all loners, and while that's a bit of an exaggeration, this ethos is indeed quite prevalent.
Students in the Magic Sequence are fine. When they encounter some problems, they may think about asking others for advice or cooperation, but students in the Dragon Sequence basically play by themselves. They are very casual and don’t care much about socializing. Instead of believing in personal connections, they trust their own strength more.
In general, one pursues spiritual independence and thinking, while the other pursues physical independence and strength.
Warm sunlight streamed in through the windows. The dining area on these floors had virtually no walls. Outside, aside from the supporting stone pillars, there were windows that opened for ventilation. Two young girls sat at a dining table covered with white cloth, waiting for their friends.
"Ye Ling, are you used to the new dormitory? There is no Bumansha and Luolan to take care of you now." Alena's short brown hair looked a little golden in the sunlight.
"Woo... I know." Ye Ling, who was not even fifteen years old, kicked her calves and answered in a low voice with a bit of dissatisfaction. After moving to the new dormitory, no one had woken her up recently because she was not familiar with the people there.
"Haha, why don't you ask the teacher so we can move in together?" Alena said jokingly.
"No need, I can live a good life on my own, huh." Ye Ling still had a little pride in himself and didn't want to ask Alena for help.
"Tsk tsk, if Luo Lan said that to you, you would have carried him up long ago."
"You're not Sister Luo Lan..." Ye Ling puffed out her cheeks and shook the ponytails on both sides, and her beige hair swayed with it.
The two talked for a while, and slowly, Ye Ling felt much more relaxed.
"If you have any problems in the future, you can come to me. It's not far away anyway. You can jump out of the dormitory window and fly a few hundred meters to get there."
"I won't look for that stupid Alena." Although Ye Ling denied it, he still felt a warmth in his heart.
After a while, Aliena looked at her watch and whispered, "By the way, why hasn't Lettice come yet? It's almost noon, and she kept us waiting for so long."
"Maybe something happened. Letis doesn't seem like the kind of person who is unpunctual." Ye Ling guessed.
-------------
Central School Building, Sage Courtyard.
It was already noon, and the contestants present had basically completed the refining of the potion. After all, it was a bronze-level potion, which to the outside world might only be made by a formal alchemist, but as long as Emenas' students put in a little more effort, they could basically make it well. The only problem was the difference in quality.
"Contestant No. 247, 80 points, 78 points, 84 points, average score 80.6, passed."
A staff member announced the scores, and a student in the audience excitedly waved their hands. While the Hemostatic Healing Potion wasn't difficult, an average score of 80 or above was considered excellent. This preliminary round eliminated most of the candidates. Those who passed were considered to have a solid foundation and had truly devoted themselves to the subject.
"Contestant No. 210, 92 points, 90 points, 93 points, average score 91.6 points, passed." After the staff finished reading out, there was a burst of cheers from the audience.
"As expected of Miss Osuna."
"After only being enrolled for a little over a year, it's already a great achievement to get a score of over 90."
Although some students were a little disappointed that Osuna did not get a particularly high score, it was still above the psychological acceptance line. After all, so far only 8 people have scored above 90 points, and most of them have just touched the 90-point threshold.
"Senior Gene is indeed a genius. His teacher's evaluation average score is 95, and he is currently ranked first."
"Ms. Osuna isn't bad either. She seems to be the only one in the second grade who scored above 90 points."
As the teacher graded the potions one by one, it was finally Loran Hill's group's turn.
One of the teachers picked up the crimson potion, looked at it, then checked it with his extraordinary perception, his face a little hesitant.
"What's wrong, Berg?" another teacher asked casually on the podium, still writing scores and comments for a contestant.
"I'm wondering how many points I should give this potion. Forgive my poor eyesight, but I've never seen such a pure potion before."
"Oh, come and have a look." The two teachers next to him also became interested. They turned their heads and took turns to examine the potion. The last teacher even opened the cork, poured a little into his palm, and felt it carefully.
"This medicinal property is just right, not too strong, and perfectly brings out the effects of the ingredients. I think it deserves full marks."
"Full marks? It's been a long time since that happened. Let's be a little cautious and give it 99 points." Another teacher said carefully. After all, there were only a handful of full marks in the history of the competition. Although they themselves have been immersed in it for many years, they dare not write down this score casually.
"It's a pity that today is the preliminary round and those masters are not here. They are all very busy."
