After putting down the invitation, Jelann crossed his arms and thought quietly for a while before asking the servant at the door to notify the man in black robe.
"Call Mr. Morag. I think it's time to make a clear plan for the future."
"Yes, sir."
As the footsteps faded away, not long after, a figure in black walked into the study again.
——————
Inside the Cuiyue Palace.
After finishing her government affairs in the morning, Achenvera relaxed. After a simple lunch, the elven queen took Loranhill to a quiet lake in the shade of trees behind the palace.
The sunlight shines through the tender green leaves, dyeing the area below a deep blue. The ripples on the lake are reflected on the tree trunks nearby, creating mottled light and shadows.
Sitting on the cool stone bench by the lake, Aichenvila set up the chessboard on the small round table, ready to play chess and games with Roland.
However, the pink-haired elf queen does not like those chess games that require a test of wits, but rather the more relaxed Monopoly-like games that advance by rolling dice.
In her own words, "Dealing with government affairs is very taxing. I don't want to think about complicated things anymore. I just want to play some simple and relaxing games."
The Elf Queen would play games with Loran Hill for a while after lunch, take a nap around 1 p.m., then look at the intelligence submitted from various places in the forest in the afternoon, and then it would be time to practice the Extraordinary Sequence.
Finally, after dinner, Aichenvila finally relaxed and had some free time.
On a high tower in the palace, it seemed a little cold because there were no lights on. Aichenvila, wearing a thin coat, walked up the stairs step by step with Loranhill.
"This is it. It's a good place to watch the stars, and it's very quiet." The Elf Queen said as she pulled Loran Hill to the edge of the fence.
Because it is very high and has a good view, you can see the streets and towns opposite. There are many official institutions of the Emerald Forest there, and there are many lights on even at night.
The lake water was as dark as ink in the night, with a few lights reflected in the water, occasionally shaken and shredded by the passing boats.
"Huh, it's more comfortable here." Aichenvila let out a long sigh, then leaned back on a bench beside her and looked into the distance at the night sky.
"Does Ella feel a little restrained in the palace?" Loran Hill sat beside her, looking at the elf queen with her pink hair scattered on the bench.
"Yes, a little, because I am the Queen of Elves, and I cannot let everyone down." Aichenvila slowly opened her eyes, then changed her posture, leaning sideways on the bench, and even her elegant long skirt became a little messy as she twisted.
"Actually, everyone is very nice to me. Whether it's Westena or Grandpa Philiworth, they have helped me a lot."
"Sometimes I feel like I'm nowhere near as smart as Westena and the others. I only became the Elf Queen because of my royal bloodline. I feel a little embarrassed."
Looking at the Elf Queen with her eyes slightly closed and speaking slowly, Loranhill couldn't help but touch her soft long hair with his hand to express his comfort.
"Actually, I used to have a very good relationship with my sisters. They often took care of me, took me shopping in the Jade Garden, and played around everywhere."
"But then I became a princess, and then very quickly became queen, and they gradually stopped associating with me."
"Sometimes when I went to see them, they became hesitant and uncomfortable. Later, I stopped bothering them."
"Some people also quietly told me that my sisters were jealous that I got the crown of the Elf Queen, because it should have been theirs, so they hated me."
"After ascending the throne, I was extremely busy and had to deal with a lot of government affairs. I was constantly in a mess. Sometimes I had to ask a few sages from the Emerald Court to help me solve some problems."
"A long time passed like this, and the friends I once knew gradually became strangers," she responded.
"Because of different identities." Loran Hill sighed, remembering that after graduating from junior high school, some went to key high schools and some went to vocational schools. Gradually, everyone was divided into several groups, and those who went to key high schools and those who went to vocational schools basically did not interact with each other.
It’s not about power. Everyone was still very innocent at that time, but there was nothing to talk about.
The academic workload in key high schools is very heavy and busy, while students in vocational high schools have gradually begun to come into contact with society. All kinds of colorful new things make the two groups gradually drift further and further apart.
After only a year or two, I could no longer remember those names.
It was only later that Aichenvila found a wise friend of the same age, Vestena, that she gradually had someone to confide in and talk to. But some people may become more and more lonely as time goes by, and eventually go to another province to attend university alone, while their former friends are all in their hometown provincial capital.
The two of them leaned on the bench, looked at the stars in the sky, talked about some little things in life, occasionally exchanged little secrets, and laughed knowingly.
Slowly, the night wind grew colder, the street scenes across the lake gradually became quieter, and the chirping of insects in the forest became particularly clear in the night.
"It's time to go to bed. We still have to welcome guests from the empire tomorrow." Aichenvila stretched herself, then slowly sat up straight, straightened her clothes a little, and then stood up.
"Thank you, Loran, for accompanying me today."
"Yeah, actually, I just want to talk. Sometimes I feel lonely and want to find someone to talk to." Loran Hill stood up, took off the hairband behind his head, bit it on his teeth, then pulled up the hair behind his head, straightened it, and tied it up again, then walked down with Aichenweila.
