Passing through the magic mirror in the closet, Loran Hill returned to his dormitory again.
As soon as she pushed open the door of the wardrobe, another sleeping girl in the room woke up.
Katie rubbed her eyes slightly and looked at Loran Hill who had returned from the darkness. Although the environment was not bright, she recognized the silver-haired girl without any hindrance.
"Luo Lan is back. Did you bring any delicious food?"
"Sorry, not yet." Loran Hill walked over, looked at the slightly lost Katie, then took out an amber maple candy from the ring and put it into Katie's lips.
"Eat a candy and go back to sleep."
"Yeah." Katie nodded, then lay down quietly, but her bright eyes were still looking at the girl beside her, revealing a hint of attachment.
"Okay, go to bed early. I'll take you to class tomorrow."
"Okay, Loran." Katie closed her eyes obediently.
Seeing that Katie continued to sleep, Loran Hill turned around and looked at the ceiling.
I seem to have forgotten something. Although the girl next to me is well-behaved and obedient, she is a veritable fire witch and a special witch who ranks among the top in combat power among all witches.
How could she forget this trump card? Loran Hill thought to herself, maybe it was because Katie was too obedient, which made her have some illusion.
Thinking of this, listening to the gentle breathing of the girl next to him, Loran Hill also felt a sense of relief and comfort.
At least around Katie, few people can touch her.
The curtains beside the bed in the bedroom were gently drawn, and the room became quiet again.
---------------
The next day, Walled City College.
After finishing a day's classes, it was still early, around 3 pm, when Loran Hill brought Katie to the activity room of Black Swan Castle.
Bumansha and Lily had arrived first, which was the result of Loran Hill's advance notification.
"Is our club finally going to hold an event?" Lily looked at Roland and said, she was a little curious about today's call.
"No, there's something else." Loran Hill said seriously, which was rare. She decided to stop Osuna's expansion.
"Does Bumansa know about classmate Osuna?" Loran turned his gaze to his chestnut-blonde companion beside him.
"Yes, I know a lot more." Bumansha began to talk about the news she had recently obtained from the 'Nectar Bud'.
Although 'Nectar Buds' is only a club composed of students who are interested in gardening and flowers, many of them are daughters of noble families and have a wide network of contacts, so they are usually well-informed about various news. Recently, after Osuna's rise, most of the demon sequence students in the Walled City Academy have turned to her, and the remaining natural sequence clubs have also become nervous and concerned. Many people have investigated Osuna and 'Black Veil'.
"...According to the information summarized by our president, this Miss Osuna seems to have a particularly bewitching method, causing many students to follow her almost fanatically."
"Then how did she do it?" Loran Hill also became curious at this time.
"This is the key point." Bumansha, Luo Lan and others sat at the small table and continued.
"Although Osuna hid it very well, the senior students of the Natural Sequence still found some clues."
"They used various controlled birds to observe the Black Veil ritual in shifts, without drawing each other's attention."
"At first, the new members didn't trust Osuna so easily. But during the ceremony, the society's leaders distributed special food. Some said it was a legacy from ancient times, while others said it was a supernatural potion that could improve oneself. They had different theories, and they asked the new members to drink or eat it."
"After that, the newcomers' consciousness will become hazy, and they will blindly follow the instructions and actions of others. Then Osuna will guide them, and finally, like hypnosis, these students will be completely convinced by her."
"Isn't this hypnosis?" Lily asked from the side.
"No, hypnosis is difficult to succeed when one is extremely wary, and transcendents are not easily hypnotized. But the strange thing about this ritual is that no matter how much you resist, despise, or hate it in your heart, as long as you drink the substance that can enhance your strength, your consciousness will become blurred and you will be easily manipulated."
"Logically, if it's hypnosis, there's always going to be bad luck and times when it doesn't work. But strangely, I haven't heard of anyone being able to break free from the ritual and regain consciousness."
"I see..." Loran Hill gently pressed the table with his fingertips, thinking about the information about Osuna.
The Plague Witch (fake), the title alone is enough to conjure up a lot of imagination. Looking back at Osuna's past combat tactics in public, most of them involved poison, disease, corrosion, and the like.
If she had used her innate powers to accomplish this, then it would all make sense.
First, a product of chaotic illusions was transformed into something similar to a virus, and then it was spread among the students. Although those infected would feel a little strange, they would ignore it due to their greatly increased strength, thinking it was a minor side effect of the extraordinary potion.
But the question is, what if we go one step further? Will this be like the Chaos Phantom, slowly corroding the entire person and eventually turning him into an irrational, frenzied monster?
Thinking this way, Loran Hill thought, if only he could obtain a sample, that extraordinary potion that had not yet been consumed during the ceremony. He could test and analyze it himself to find out what it was, and perhaps even create a unique antidote.
