The plants in the center of the field grew thicker and thicker, spreading upwards. The girl stood in the dim candlelight, looking at these new members in the shadows and spoke.
"I know everyone wants to become stronger, but that's no reason to give up on yourself and become someone else's shadow. When you're no longer yourself, becoming strong loses its meaning."
Loran Hill cannot directly change these people's minds, but at least she still wants to wake up some students and tell them not to indulge in this anymore, as this is not the path to happiness.
Some of the new members remained silent, some began to discuss in low voices, and a few radical people stood up and pointed at the girl and yelled.
"What's wrong with being strong? If it weren't for your strength, how could you be so arrogant here? You would have been stabbed to death in the encirclement long ago. How can you top students understand the feelings of us students on the verge of dropping out!"
"How can you accept the contempt of others, the disappointment of your family, and the barely concealed contempt of your friends? Just give up and admit your weakness? No, never!"
"I don't care what they tell me. As long as I'm strong, it's fine. So what if I give up on myself? I'm determined to become stronger, no matter what. That's the only way I can protect what's mine."
"But." The girl spoke softly. The plants beside her had slowly broken through the soil on the ceiling, and wisps of night breeze blew in, bringing fresh air.
"They will take away everything, everything you cherish most: your emotions, your friends, your family, your future, even your life."
"Even so, will you continue to chase?"
