Chapter 359: Sword Test Battle

After Yan Liuyan said these words, the atmosphere at the scene suddenly became tense.

Branches and leaves were scattered on the ground, a mixture of dark brown dead branches and green tender leaves. More than fifty members of the 'Jungle Bow' were hiding among them. Some were slowly retreating, some were standing still, and some had a bewildered look on their faces.

Many students, aged only 16 to 20, had always studied and lived in school. They had never imagined the world would change so rapidly. The once peaceful and beautiful Emenas seemed to have been transformed overnight. Those long-established High-Sequence teachers and sages seemed like emotionless puppets, mechanically teaching and arranging activities as per usual, oblivious to the myriad happenings within the school.

This made it difficult for many students, accustomed to relying on their teachers, to adapt. Some were extremely anxious, some were terrified, and some even considered fleeing the academy and returning home. While Black Veil members wouldn't kill, and would arrange for treatment for serious injuries, if one were no longer themselves, what difference would that make to being killed? For some, free will might even be more important than life itself.

Emenas today is different from the past. With the teachers and sages remaining silent and not taking the initiative to manage things, many things in the school are slowly beginning to change.

First, students began to form groups. Individuals became fewer and fewer, and most gathered around their clubs, attending classes, eating, and even resting together. Those who acted alone were either skilled and daring, or were coerced into joining the clubs by the Black Veil. They had developed a sophisticated proselytizing method, and with the help of a special potion, it was incredibly effective, causing the remaining students in the academy to feel insecure.

Secondly, a martial spirit began to flourish. The Walled City Academy, once devoted to elegance and various hobbies, now focused entirely on combat, sparring with one another, improving their skills and developing new spells and abilities. Previously conservative factions also began sharing their experiences. The crafting of extraordinary weapons and potions also became increasingly popular, with notices on bulletin boards frequently advertising the purchase of superior materials and finished products.

Finally, the various colleges began to isolate themselves from one another. The past experience of being able to visit one another at any time was disappearing. The unusual developments within the Walled City College were slowly spreading to other colleges. With the situation uncertain, each college began to prohibit students from other colleges from freely visiting their own campus, in order to prevent the spread of unknown organizations and the infiltration of other intelligence-gathering personnel.

-------

Seeing that no one in this group of people could make the decision and everyone was whispering to each other, Yan Liuyan frowned, a little unhappy, with a hint of contempt in his eyes.

Humph, it's just a bunch of loose sand after all.

Not all clubs have strong organizational capabilities, and many presidents only hold this position because the members are familiar with them. It is not a big deal at ordinary times, but at such a critical moment, it becomes difficult to unify the entire club.

"What should we do? Run away?" The three people below hid behind the ruins, whispering and exchanging information quickly.

"It's not good to leave like this. Everyone else is still here." One of them disagreed.

"But if we just wait, we'll just be giving heads to the other side. We're doomed to lose. Reality isn't like the stories in poetry. Can you suddenly explode?" A short-haired young man said sarcastically, biting a slightly bitter leaf.

"If I can't win, I'll definitely leave as soon as possible. I don't want to be brainwashed."

"Well, then why are you still standing here?" one of them said unhappily.

"No one has left yet. It would be embarrassing for me to run away alone." He was quite shameless.

"It's hard to believe. You were born into a noble family, yet you are so spineless."

"Even the nobles have to consider the situation. A young son like me, destined to be ignored, doesn't need to live such a tiring life. I just need to be comfortable."

"Okay, stop talking. The guy on the other side is getting a little impatient."

Seeing that these students were still confused and hesitant, Yan Liuyan was too lazy to reason with them anymore and prepared to forcibly apprehend them.

The crimson iron blade was unsheathed once more, and a scorching wave of fire raced forward, sweeping through the forest, burning all sorts of weeds and dead branches as it touched them, instantly clearing the scene. Immediately afterward, the black-robed members behind him also poured into the forest, beginning to capture the students of the 'Jungle Bow'.

The battle begins.

The sound of vibrating bowstrings rang out densely in the woods, and enchanted long-feather arrows were shot out like dense raindrops, directly penetrating the bodies of a group of black-robed members in front, bringing up bursts of blood. Painful screams, the sound of weapons colliding, the sound of flames burning, and the sound of trees falling, all echoed one after another in the woods.

But the students of the Jungle Bow soon began to collapse. For one thing, they had limited enchanted arrows, and ordinary arrows were ineffective against Transcendents, easily blocked and resisted. For another, their High-Sequence members were significantly outnumbered. The black-robed, sword-wielding members began pursuing the dark-leather-armored archers. Those knocked to the ground were uniformly restrained with their Transcendent Cores and then tied up.

"It turns out that violence is simpler and more refreshing." Looking at this scene, Yan Liuyan crossed his arms and said with a bit of boredom, preparing to lean against the tree and close his eyes to rest.

call out--

A slender, dark red feathered arrow pierced through the dense foliage, the chaotic scene, the fighting crowd, and headed directly for the closed-eyed Yan Liuyan. Its speed was so fast that it was almost invisible. If it weren't for the subtle sound of it breaking through the air, it would not have even been noticed passing by.

The blazing hot blade partially emerged from the scabbard again. With a clear sound of metal collision, although the knife was not completely pulled out, the blade smoothly cut the arrow in half from the middle.

Finally, an interesting opponent? Yan Liuyan thought, this is a good opportunity to test his sword skills. After reaching this level of strength, he still hasn't had a good fight with anyone.

He aimed directly at the direction from which the arrow came and swung his sword in the air. The sword light was white-hot and flames were condensed into it. It directly cut through the layers of woods, intending to injure the enemy with one blow.

"I'm here~"

At this time, a clear and ethereal voice sounded from above. Yan Liuyan looked up and saw an elf girl with transparent butterfly wings flying in the air, and then there were three arrows coming towards him.

There are inscriptions on each arrow that flow at an extremely fast speed.

He swung his sword again to cut the arrows. A few bangs were heard on the sword and the arrows exploded. Then he felt the tremor in his right hand and the long sword almost flew out of his hand.

"Haha, isn't it very interesting?" The elf girl laughed like a silver bell, and her fingertips covered with light green nails emitted a dangerous light, following a strange trajectory, directly towards Yan Liuyan's neck.
