Chapter 369: Wind of Light

Loran Hill lifted her skirt and climbed the steps to the church. The steps in front of the church were not long, but not short either. There were 12 steps in total. Choir students stood on the steps, all dressed in white priest robes, arranged neatly and dignifiedly, with a trapezoidal space in the middle. In the center of the empty steps was the church's elegant and magnificent gate, decorated with patterns of angels, the sun, the moon, and stars.

As the silver-haired girl in black veil stepped onto the steps, a different feeling rose in her heart. Her body seemed lighter, her mind clearer. With each subsequent step, the feeling deepened. After completing the short twelve steps, it felt as if she had traveled through time, a sense of detachment from the world.

When she looked back, the people who had traveled with the convoy were still standing there, only a few dozen meters away. However, they seemed to her as if they were separated by a long river of time, somewhat ethereal and distant.

In this occasion that attracted everyone's attention, Loran Hill didn't want to stop suddenly to find out what was going on, but slowly walked into the interior of the church.

The vast church hall was now empty and serene. Entering it felt like entering another world, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. A bright, soft light enveloped the spacious church, but Loran Hill couldn't see the source. There were indeed some candlesticks in the hall, but this bright, white light wasn't from small candles.

After a brief observation, she discovered that these light sources were actually the countless tiny particles in the air. Because they were too small and filled the entire hall, they were difficult to notice.

Now the interior of the church was surrounded by these soft light particles, which made Loran Hill feel very comfortable, but these light particles also formed a field-like effect, and there was no other sequence of magic or mana in the environment.

If I cast an Angel Sequence skill or spell here, the effect would probably be greatly enhanced, the girl thought. But she didn't notice that a pale golden symbol on her forehead was also appearing and disappearing. It was a symbol similar to the sun, and the sun's light was like wings, slowly unfolding.

Just when she was wondering why no one in the church came to meet her and tell her how the activity should proceed, a door on the side opened and Ingrid, wearing white and silver knight armor, walked in. She held a winged scepter horizontally in both hands. The whole scepter was white, with decorative wings on top that faded from light green to pure white, with golden branches wrapped in the middle, and a hazy halo around her.

[Wind of Light] (Rating: Rare Crystal Grade): A rare instrument with extraordinary properties that can greatly amplify skills related to wind and light, and form a special field to suppress the magic of other sequences from being cast within the field.

When Ingrid saw Loran Hill, a hint of surprise and joy flashed in her eyes. Then she lowered her head slightly and presented the scepter in her hand.

"What is this?" The girl did not take it rashly, but asked with a little curiosity.

"This is a prop to be used in the event ceremony. Luo Xier, just take it." Ingrid said.

Although he was unaware of Ingrid's ill intentions, Loran Hill was no fool. Where could such a valuable activity item be found? A crystal-grade rating was equivalent to Sequence 8. Except for a 'holy artifact' with special powers, such a creation could be said to be the pinnacle of the human world.

"This is too expensive." She said softly, putting her hands at her sides and not accepting it.

"This is a bit difficult to explain, but this is indeed a prop for the event. I'm not lying. If Luo Xier thinks it's too valuable, you can just return it later." Ingrid tried her best to explain to the girl in order to get her to accept it.

"Oh well."

Now wasn't the time to dwell too much; everyone outside was still waiting. Loran Hill accepted the staff. The moment she grasped it, she felt a sense of comfort, as if her body had expanded, something enclosed had been revealed, like breathing fresh air. This gave the girl the illusion that one of her gifts had become even more powerful. If before she had summoned the wind, now she was controlling it.

This staff wasn't simple, perhaps it was far more than a crystal-grade one, the girl thought. Then, led by Ingrid, she slowly walked out of the church. The light particles in the church also slowly dissipated, and everything returned to normal.

When she walked out of the church again, she was faced with a large yet silent crowd. Students in black and white robes, the living and the dead, candlelight and ghostly flames, formed a scene like an ocean in front of the church. These countless people and their gazes all turned to the silver-haired girl in a black veil who walked out of the church. She walked out with a scepter in hand, like an angel descending into the mortal world.

"Please say 'I forgive'." Ingrid reminded Luo Xier standing beside her.

The girl said softly, "I forgive."

The wind of light that leveled the academy arose. It was so delicate that it could penetrate walls and bodies, soothing the fragile and endangered souls. As the wind of light blew, everyone's hearts relaxed, their consciousness became clearer and calmer, and the minor scars in the souls gradually healed. A coolness from the heart spread throughout the body and mind, making people feel excited.

Then thunderous cheers rang out, and everyone was amazed at this miracle from heaven and the unexpected surprise.

Among the crowd below, Cecilia gently adjusted her hat on her face, leaned against the side door of the carriage, and a relieved smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

I was not seeing things.

After witnessing this grand ceremony, Elro did not rush to the central church with the crowd, but whistled and slowly left with the package under his robe.
