As usual, the confrontation between academies must be restricted and balanced. The alchemical machines now used by the Tower Academy are also exploiting the loophole that the current teachers do not actively interfere.
Otherwise, if a fair duel truly was to be fought, it would have been reasonable for Qiaodun Academy to bring all its students to the arena. But now that it had happened, there was no point complaining. After a fierce battle, Darcy stabbed the two golden dragons down from the tower and felt exhausted.
But the opponents outside the tower would not give these knights time to rest. Nearly 30 Sequence 6 dragons soared in the sky, circling in several huge concentric circles, casting huge shadows on the ground.
Then, the flames came.
Raging flames erupted from the dragon's mouth, a massive vortex of flames, approximately one kilometer in diameter, enveloping the tower and melting the frost within. The interior of the tower was like purgatory, the air filled with scorching, suffocating smoke, and the vision was distorted by the air, as if the world had become another world.
In just a few seconds, the many knights in the tower were burned by the flames, triggering a barrier, and the original resonance field dissipated.
Darcy swung his gun in the flames, trying to destroy the last guardian Templar Golem.
Several flashes of light appeared at the golem's side, and a fleet of ultramarine-robed mages arrived in a short flash. Although he managed to knock them out, the best opportunity had already passed. One after another, mages surged forward across the flames. The students of Pier Academy, having lost their numerical advantage, began to dwindle in numbers. Some fell in the flames, others were struck down by returning mages. Only a few remained by Darcy's side.
Things have developed to this point and the situation cannot be reversed.
After the flames dissipated, students of the Dragon Sequence, transformed into human form, rushed into the battlefield, finally tipping the balance in favor of the Tower.
The Frost Iron Knights collapsed from exhaustion after being struck by flames and lightning, leaving only Darcy alone in the center of the field. Only then did the students of High Tower Academy surround him and slowly stop their attacks.
Even though they were rivals, they had to admire Darcy's strength and methods, as he almost destroyed the hopes of the Tower Academy.
While it might seem to outsiders that Hightower Academy had won this time, having gained a significant advantage, only they knew the terrifying nature of Darcy's surprise attack. The current Hightower Academy was different than it had been in the past. Thanks to the new power seed training spearheaded by Jack, the current strength of the contestants was significantly higher than in previous years.
But even so, Darcy almost succeeded in stealing their home, and they suffered a great loss. Although they have won now, their own vitality has been damaged. It will be even more difficult for them to face the fortress and the temple next.
At this time, Darcy was standing on the top floor of the tower. His helmet had been shattered in the battle, and his short hair was now mixed with burnt ash and blood. The spire above his head had been blown away by the dragon and the aftermath of the battle. The white light from the sky shone through it, illuminating the now slightly quiet scene.
A young man in a dark blue mage robe flew out from behind, passing through thick smoke and ruins, and slowly descended into the formation. Judging from the reactions of the students in the surrounding towers, this person seemed to be their leader.
"Who are you?" Although he had a vague guess in his mind, Darcy still asked.
"Call me Jack, Senior Darcy." The young man took off his hood, and his short golden hair was revealed in the remaining firelight. His ordinary face was filled with a scholarly air, making it difficult to associate him with the current chief of the tower.
"I see."
Faced with being surrounded by numerous opponents, Darcy, who understood the current situation, was upright and admitted defeat directly without saying any harsh words or expressing dissatisfaction.
“Looking forward to the showdown at the end of the year.”
Carrying his injured companions with him, the strong figure of the chief bridge pier slowly disappeared in the flames and ruins.
Anyway, now that Qiaodun Academy has officially admitted defeat, Jack did not stop or make things difficult for them. He asked his subordinates and companions to make way and let these opponents leave.
By this point, on the morning of the second day of the competition, Qiaodun College, the favorite to win the college competition, had been humiliated. Everything happened so fast that no one could react. The campus also fell into a brief period of peace, and the rest of the party was also quickly digesting this news.
In the cafeteria of the central school building, a group of freshmen wearing colorful clothes were chattering in every corner.
Compared to Loran Hill's class, their life was much more exciting. Soon after entering the school, frequent conflicts began to break out among the various colleges. Every day they saw the chaotic competitions and duels among the seniors. In less than three months, the campus competition also began, which was another grand carnival.
"Hey, have you heard?" A freshman holding a delicious drink said excitedly to his friends around him.
"What's the matter?" a sleepy companion responded casually.
"This morning, Bridge Pier Academy conceded defeat. It's truly rare. I'd heard of Bridge Pier Academy's strength before I even joined, and that many great military generals came from there. I didn't expect them to be defeated so quickly. It seems I'll have to consider going to Tower Academy in the future. Magic and alchemy are still so cool."
"Don't be so arbitrary. Choose the magic sequence. Are you good at math?" the companion next to him reminded him.
"Then I choose the Dragon Sequence."
"This one has higher requirements. It requires both talent and bloodline. Not everyone is suitable for the Dragon Sequence."
"Why do you always argue? Which one do you choose?" he said angrily.
"Natural sequence."
"Why?"
"Of course it's because there are so many beautiful girls." He said as a matter of course.
