"Hundreds of years have passed now." Titus picked up the teacup in front of her, looked at the steam slowly rising from the cup, and her eyes revealed a look of nostalgia.
"We've never been able to properly reconcile and bring closure to what happened. Agatha lived in seclusion, licking her wounds, and ultimately ended up in this situation. If only we could have found her sooner... Unfortunately, things have come to this point. I don't want to say any more sentimental words. I just want to put things to rest and not continue to carry on the sadness and hatred of the past."
"Although we witches are considered powerful by outsiders, we are actually very lonely. We only have a few acquaintances who can serve as companions."
She raised her head and looked at Si Ye opposite her.
"Although Dorothy's actions at the time were a bit radical, they were not irreversible. Besides, she was also considering everyone's future."
"Si Ye should be aware of the current situation in Cang Cui. With the increasing population, decreasing resources, and the huge gap between the rich and the poor, conflict, dissatisfaction, and resentment are slowly overflowing, making it difficult to reconcile."
"Even with the suppression of high-level transcendents from above, this atmosphere and environment cannot be completely cured. Within a year or two, it will eventually erupt."
"So, I still believe that developing technology and heading for the stars is the ultimate choice for everyone."
"I believe that many people in the Sages' Association also hold this view."
"But hundreds of years ago, during that crackdown, many areas related to the twilight era became taboo. This has undoubtedly become a shackle. People trapped in this cage will become miserable and crazy over time."
Tidaisi slowly took a sip of the warm tea, placed the cup on the table, and continued.
"I don't want to see cannibalism anymore."
"Si Ye, you know what? Before the war in Oz, witches were like family, with the elders caring for and protecting the newer generations. But that war shattered that long-standing tradition and warmth, and its spread and impact spread far and wide. Even afterward, when new witches were born, they were afraid to join us to avoid persecution."
When he heard this, Loran Hill blinked a little embarrassedly.
"The new generation is gradually distancing themselves from us and becoming isolated. After the first few decades of their lives, it's basically difficult to get a witch with mature and stable ideas to open her heart and become friends with everyone."
"And the split has become a foreseeable thing. A long life brings a long loneliness. Lacking companions to support and advise each other, it is hard to imagine what kind of mental abyss a witch who has lived for a long time will slide into, heading towards the unknown and extreme path."
"Once something like this happens, the public's impression of witches will sour, which in turn will lead to hatred and intensify the intensification of witches to become enemies of the public, ultimately causing tragedy."
"Even you wouldn't want to see this kind of thing, Si Ye."
Titus gradually stopped talking here, and looked at the empty teacup with her quiet silver eyes.
...
The hall was silent for a long time, and then a childish voice was heard.
"I see."
Si Ye stood up so that he could look Tidaisi in the eye while she was sitting.
"I will propose at the Sages' Council that the ban that has been imposed for many years be lifted and that the historical records be changed to make the evaluation of the Land of Oz more objective and neutral."
"However, I must also demand that any research into Twilight Age technology be conducted with strict controls and safeguards, and treated with caution."
"Things that are ahead of their time are like a sickle wielded by a child in today's world. If you're not careful, you could end up hurting yourself."
"I don't deny this, and I agree that it should be controlled." Tidaisi looked at Si Ye in front of her and nodded in agreement.
"After dealing with these matters, I will resign as the headmaster and let other sages take turns, just like other academies."
Chris and Servis opened their mouths to speak but stopped themselves in response to the resignation statement. They felt sorry for Si Ye's years of dedication, but were also happy that he could be freed.
"I'm not very good at communicating with people. If other new witches feel afraid, I don't know how to deal with it." Her voice was a little low at this time.
"It's better to leave this kind of thing to other people. Even though you're a witch, you don't have to be good at everything. Relying on and helping each other is what friends and family are like." At this time, Titus's brows relaxed.
"If there are other new students, I will have to trouble you to teach them the necessary knowledge." Titus's voice became a little lighter.
Si Ye watched Tidaisi open her mouth slightly, and after a long while, she uttered two words: "...Thank...Thank you."
Then she lowered her head awkwardly, a slight blush on her cheeks.
"Sure enough, this is the lovely Si Ye." Tidaisi lifted up the Book Witch who looked about 12 years old and held her in her arms.
"I haven't done this for many years." She said to her old friend in his ear.
"Hey, don't snatch Si Ye from me." Chris saw Tidaisi holding Si Ye in her arms, so she stood up, crossed the coffee table, pulled away Tidaisi's arms, and prepared to snatch her good friend back.
"Hehehe..." The venue was gradually filled with laughter.
------------
Two days later.
"Well, see you next time, little Lorraine, and Katie." Tidaisi said to the two of them while standing on the lawn, holding a light blue lace parasol.
"Goodbye." Katie raised her hand.
"Goodbye, Sister Titus." Loran Hill also nodded slightly.
Then the phantom witch once again boarded the fairy-tale-like carriage, and, pulled by two black unicorns, drove towards the blue sky with white clouds suspended in it.
On the high tower in the north, Chris lay on the windowsill, watching the carriage taking off on the lawn in the distance.
"Si Ye, Tidaisi is gone." She watched the small black dot slowly disappear into the sky.
"Got it, Chris, stop being lazy and come clean up."
Si Ye said angrily. Today, she was wearing a simple black and white maid outfit and was cleaning the long-vacant observatory. She was cleaning it in advance of the next dean's arrival.
"But I'm Chrissy, how can I do such rough work?"
Chris, wearing a light pink princess dress, stood at the brown low table, her hands on her hips and spoke.
"Fool!"
Si Ye picked up the broom and swept it directly towards Chris's calf. The latter jumped lightly on the low table and laughed triumphantly and happily.
"Haha, you can't hit me."
Just as Chris was dodging Si Ye's 'pursuit', a thick book fell from the air and 'accidentally' hit the witch on the head, causing her to scream and then squat down with her hands covering her head.
"I caught you, get up and work." Si Ye pulled up the squatting Chris and stuffed a broom into her hand.
"Woo woo, Si Ye is cheating and has learned bad habits."
