Loran Hill had signaled to the two of them before just to be on the safe side, but he didn't expect that Jelinek would really dare to take the risk and take action at home that night.
Whether in Xifeng or in Virga, killing someone while inviting them to a visit is a very taboo and extremely shameful thing. What he didn't expect was that the relationship between Jelinek and Angus was really extraordinary. Even if he ignored his reputation, he had to get to the bottom of it.
"Mr. Jelinek, I think there is some misunderstanding between us. Can we talk alone?" Loran Hill suggested, looking at the many guards inside and outside the door.
Jelinek remained unmoved, and the situation reached a stalemate. However, Loran Hill wasn't surprised. If the head of the household were so easily compromised, she wouldn't take action. She gestured for Chelsea to pull out a small box she had with her and remove Angus's suicide note.
Then the suicide note slowly opened, revealing the first two lines of words, and appeared in front of Jelinek.
Jelinek looked at the familiar handwriting, his pupils narrowed slightly, and then he slowly waved his hand.
"You guys leave first." Jelinek signaled the people around him to leave first, and then Loran Hill also asked Ceres to take the people from the Carites family out of the door. Only the girl, Chelsea and Jelinek were left in the room.
"Chelsea, could you please explain first?"
Jelinek looked at the head maid behind the girl; it seemed like they had known each other for a long time.
"Jellinek, you are still so impulsive." Chelsea pushed the glasses on the bridge of her nose.
Chelsea was completely worthy of the identity of the head of the Jelinek Yagtilin family. Perhaps in her eyes, the man in front of her was the same as she remembered him back then, still the playboy who had hung out with Angus in the bar when they were young, who was full of flowers and flirted with women everywhere.
Chelsea then took out a copy of Angus's handwritten suicide note and handed it to Jelinek.
Angus left two suicide notes. One publicly announced that he would transfer all his property to his daughter, Lacey. The other informed his former friends and subordinates that he and Elaine had been murdered, and that the Chamber of Commerce would be fully managed by another young woman.
Jelinek picked up the suicide note, looked at it carefully for a long time, and then slowly put it down.
"Is this really the case..." There was a trace of sadness on his face. His former friend had passed away just like that, and had even transferred all his property to a stranger.
"It is indeed Angus's notes, but this does not completely prove that what you said is true. I know that many extraordinary sequences can manipulate and confuse others." Jelinek still did not believe it. After all, this matter was too bizarre and he found it difficult to accept.
Seeing that Chelsea was a little angry, Loran Hill reached out to stop her from drawing her sword.
"Master Jelinek."
The middle-aged man opposite was a little confused as to why the girl suddenly called him that.
"Mr. Angus once told me something, and you will believe me if I tell you." Loran Hill had a sly smile on his face, looking a little cute.
"What's up?"
The middle-aged man suddenly recalled some bad memories and felt a chill on his back.
"A black dress and dancing shoes." After saying this, the girl stopped talking.
Chelsea was a little confused. What did this mean? Did Angus ever give Jelinek a skirt? Although they were good friends, they were not gay.
“Stop, stop, stop.”
However, Jelinek's face changed drastically. He quickly stopped the girl and tried to stop her from continuing, as if there was a huge secret that could not be told.
"I believe you, my dear niece. From now on, if you have any difficulties, come to me directly. Just treat me as your uncle."
Jelinek finally believed that this difficult girl had indeed been entrusted by Angus, otherwise she wouldn't have known such a secret. Angus had promised him never to reveal it, but she had actually revealed it to someone else before her death. It seemed that Miss Lacey hadn't lied.
Loran Hill smiled and replied, "Thank you for your assistance, Uncle Jelinek. If I have any trouble, Lacey will definitely not hesitate to ask for your help."
The girl stood up, lifted her skirt and saluted.
Then after a brief conversation, he said goodbye and left the room.
Watching the blue-dressed girl and Chelsea leave, Jelinek leaned back on the sofa and muttered to himself after a long while.
"Angus, Angus, should I say you're lucky or unlucky? Even after leaving, you still managed to find such a powerful client."
Miss Lacey remained calm and composed from beginning to end, not even changing her expression when surrounded by more than a dozen Sequence 2s. This shows that she definitely has more than just what she appears to have. It seems that Verga will stir up another storm soon.
Then the former steward Owen came back to ask for instructions. After Jelinek's signal, the guards of the Yagtilin family withdrew and no longer restricted the riders of the Carites Chamber of Commerce.
After a while, Owen came back and made tea, then quietly stood by Jelinek.
"Has Miss Lacey from the Carites Chamber of Commerce left?"
"Sir, they have already left and are probably back at the mansion. We have people near the mansion. If they make any unusual movements, they will report to us immediately."
"Well, just leave two or three people to observe briefly. Everyone else should withdraw. Don't be too deliberate. Miss Lacy can be trusted."
"Okay, Lord Jelinek." Owen nodded in response without asking the reason. He just had to do many things at home and would not ask why.
If you are too curious, you may easily die. This was the warning his father gave him on the day he became a butler.
