A village deep in the mountains on the east side of Ned County.
This unknown village could not be found on previous West Wind maps. After the establishment of Clansia, it was named after the locals, Beech Village, because there were several rare beech trees at the entrance of the village.
A young man wearing an animal skin vest was walking on a rugged mountain road, carrying a pile of dry firewood several meters high on his back. There was a huge gap between the heavy firewood and his figure below, which made people wonder if the young man would be crushed.
But he didn't feel anything strange and continued walking easily on the mountain path.
After entering the village, several children in the village saw the young man and ran over to watch him.
"Brother Bud is out collecting firewood again?"
"Yes, the weather is still a bit cold now, and there isn't much firewood left at Mr. Tuoke's house, so I went to look for some."
"Brother Bud is amazing. He can carry so much."
"Well, if you work hard to grow, you will be able to do it in the future." He nodded.
This young man was the restaurant adaptor that Loran Hill met in Hopeland, the young man who avenged his friend.
After obtaining the training method and power given by Loran Hill, he killed his old enemy and then came to the hometown of his good friend Gret, wanting to do something within his ability.
After arriving here, although he was initially distrusted and feared by the locals (because of his appearance), in the days that followed, he helped the surrounding villages clear out a lot of monsters, so his fame gradually grew. As they became more familiar with him, the people here no longer rejected him, but slowly accepted him.
"Hey, Bud, you're back." A middle-aged man dressed as a hunter walked out of his house and greeted Bud who was walking on the mountain road.
"You're back, Uncle Fengde." Bud nodded.
"I'll ask Anna to bring you some bacon later. It's made with care by my wife and has a unique flavor..."
"Thank you, uncle." The ugly and simple-looking boy grinned.
"It's nothing. You've been helping everyone these past two years." The hunter uncle walked down the hillside in front of his house, came to Bud, looked at his worn vest, and said.
"I'll talk to old lady Lit later and ask her to sew some new clothes for you. Although it's spring now, it's still very cold. You can't wear too little."
"Don't bother with that. We've gotten through the winter like this." Bud shook his head, and then a red color appeared on his muscular skin. Wisps of white smoke rose, steaming away the dew accumulated on his body.
"I'm a superhuman, don't be afraid of the cold."
"That being said, it does consume a lot of mana, so it's better to wear something more comfortable."
"Besides, you are the hero of our village. You helped defeat so many monsters. Such a powerful person cannot dress too simply, otherwise outsiders will think we exclude you."
Unable to resist the uncle's kindness, Bud had to agree, and then asked old lady Litt to help him measure his body size.
Carrying the firewood on his back, he continued to move forward. He first helped Grandpa Tuoke's family to replenish the firewood so that the lonely old man would not have to worry about the cold, and then took the excess firewood back to his own place. There was a rough house built with stones here. The roof was made of thick thatch mixed with mud, and there was a layer of wooden boards underneath. Although it looked simple, it was quite waterproof due to the thick material stacking.
After returning home, he started to make a fire and cook. What he had learned in the restaurant was now very easy to use.
Take the dried meat strips from the hanging beams on the roof, cut a few pieces and throw them into the pot, add some radish pieces and vegetables, and wait until the bread on the side is baked, then you can eat it.
While waiting, he went to another place in the house, scooped out clean water from a large water tank with a ladle, washed his body briefly, put on another clean animal skin vest, and sat back by the stove. By then, the food was almost cooked.
Although life in the mountains is simple, it also has a sense of tranquility and peace, which makes him quite satisfied.
Gret's hometown is in this village. There were originally three children in his family. The eldest son, Gret's brother, died in a mine accident. Gret participated in the uprising in Clancy, then went to the south and never came back. Now the only one left in the family is a girl named Karen, who currently lives with her parents.
I'll go to Karen's house tomorrow and ask if they need any help with the fields. Thinking of this, Bud closed the door, prepared to practice his extraordinary sequence, and then went to bed.
A clear and ethereal voice rang out in the village.
"Hello, is this Beech Village?" It seemed to be a young girl. Judging from her standard accent, she should be from the heart of Clansia and have received an excellent education.
"Yes." The hunter uncle answered readily.
"Miss, are you coming to our village to buy some ferret fur? This is the only specialty of our village." The uncle guessed the origin of the blonde lady and then promoted his own products.
"As for furs, you can buy some, but there's someone I want to inquire about, a young man named Bud."
"Bud, what do you want to talk to him about? He has refused several offers."
"I'm not trying to recruit you, I just want to meet you. I guess we're old acquaintances."
"Oh, he lives on the other side of the village. I'll take you there."
The villagers in the mountains were very simple and honest. They took the girl directly to a house built of rocks. The girl who had just arrived was wearing a black windbreaker and gray boots on her slender legs. A few strands of golden hair peeked out from under her hood. Her face was beautiful, but slightly hazy.
As the footsteps approached, the door had already been opened and the strong young man had walked out of the house.
Under the hunter uncle's surprised gaze, the young man who was usually extremely powerful saluted respectfully.
"Hello, Miss Lacey." He slowly raised his head. In the evening twilight, his eyes were bright, as if filled with surprise and gratitude.
"Long time no see, Bud." The blonde girl did not refuse, but accepted the young man's greeting frankly and then replied.
"Thank you, uncle." The blonde lady turned around and said.
"It's nothing... just a small matter." Although he was full of surprise, the hunter uncle nodded slowly, and then continued speaking belatedly.
"Then I won't bother you anymore." After saying that, he walked away in small steps.
Two candles were lit on the rough little wooden table. The two men came to the table and slowly talked about their experiences of the past two years.
At first, Bud was worried that the young lady would not be used to sitting on the rough wooden chair in his house, but he saw that she did not seem to feel uncomfortable. Instead, she sat down naturally and adapted to the situation.
"Sit down, Bud. It's been two years since we last met."
