Black Rock Principality.
Jenna was traveling with the scimitar-wielding uncle.
"Uncle, where did you learn your extraordinary skills? They look very unique."
"Little girl, don't ask about everything."
Perhaps because they had become more familiar with each other over the past few days, Jenna was less restrained when asking questions, which made the uncle gradually feel overwhelmed.
"Can't you tell me, or is there some sad memory in it?" Jenna turned and tilted her head to look at the unshaven-bearded uncle beside her.
"I'm not too sad. Actually, my skills also come from Emenas, but I'm not a student there."
"It's because I once had a cousin from Emenas. He taught me some knowledge about practicing the extraordinary sequence when I was young, and then I embarked on this path."
"Of course, I'm not as talented as him. War Sequence 4 is my limit."
"What about your cousin?"
"Dead."
"Why!?"
"How did he die?"
"Hehe, isn't it because you are too idealistic? If you offend some people you shouldn't offend, no matter how talented you are, you will die a violent death." The uncle sneered.
"Later, I wandered around and developed some skills."
"And then you came back and killed those enemies?"
"No, I still can't defeat them. They have more people."
"Hmm."
"But I'm not stupid. When dealing with bad guys, I can't be too particular about the methods. I'd better kill them one by one." The uncle thought of the happy things.
"Uncle is so awesome." Jenna blinked.
"Don't flatter me. It's time to say goodbye."
Their horses stopped at a road junction, one heading west, the other north. Jenna was heading west to the city of Beacon Fire, while the scimitar rider was heading north.
"So fast." Jenna felt that she still had many questions to ask the uncle, but there was not enough time.
Seeing the scimitar rider riding north, Jenna called out, "Uncle, how do you think this country can be improved?"
"How can it be better? It can't be better, so just let it be."
"Uncle, if your cousin were still alive, how do you think this country could be improved?"
"Ha! How can we ever improve this field when it's full of weeds and borers?"
"Let's just burn it." His voice disappeared at the end of the road as his back slowly disappeared.
Standing at the intersection, Jenna looked at the empty intersection and stood still for a long time before spurring her horse westward. The sound of her hooves echoed in the empty valley.
On the other side, the Scimitar Man walked all the way north. Looking at the desolate fields and sky, he couldn't help but recall his youth.
Haha, I didn’t expect that in the end I couldn’t help but say what was in my heart.
Who made me have such a cousin? That figure was my idol when I was a teenager.
---------
Two days later, Jenna finally arrived at Fengyan City. The scene before her shocked her: the once strong and prosperous Fengyan City now had a huge gaping hole in its gates, corpses burning outside the city, and waves of foul-smelling black smoke drifting in the air.
Her pace gradually slowed down, and finally she led her horse to the city gate, where the guards stopped her.
"Who are you? You can't come in and out freely now." Perhaps the forces here are complicated, and the guards have some ulterior motives.
"I am Jenna, the daughter of Muron, and currently a student of Emenas," she said.
"Mulong?" The guards seemed to remember something and asked her to wait by the gate for a while, and then sent someone to notify the city.
Not long after, a man with sharp eyebrows walked over quickly. He was Mu Long, one of the mercenary leaders in Black Rock Witz County.
"Follow me." He briefly instructed the guards and then brought Jenna into the city.
There was no conversation along the way, and Jenna felt that her father seemed a little angry.
After arriving at a medium-sized courtyard, Mulon led Jenna into this heavily guarded area, surrounded by his men, who were also people Jenna was familiar with. Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief.
After entering the house and finding a separate room, Mulon brought a glass of water, placed it in front of Jenna, and then asked.
"Why are you here? Didn't I tell you not to come back?" He frowned, and seemed unhappy about this father-daughter meeting.
"I'm worried about my father and everyone." Jenna lowered her head.
"childish."
"And what then? Can your coming here change anything? I still have to find someone to protect you."
"But...I'm afraid I'll never see you all again."
"I'm afraid. I'm even more afraid that both my father and I will die here, and there will be no one to avenge me." Mu Long sat in front of Jenna and tapped his fingers lightly on the table.
......
After a long while, seeing his daughter lowering her head and remaining silent, Mu Long's tone softened a little.
"You haven't fully grown up yet. You'll have a better future if you stay in school. If you want to do something, you can do it later when you have the ability."
"But I can't be so heartless." Jenna raised her head bravely and looked at her father with her emerald eyes.
“I don’t want to regret it after I lose it.”
Mu Long looked at his daughter, took a deep breath, and then exhaled slowly.
"Forget it. You can stay here today and leave tomorrow. I'm still alive, and you can see it."
"But..." Jenna seemed to want to say something.
"But what is it? The current situation in the city is unstable and undercurrents are surging. Staying here will only distract me, and you will become a handle for them to control me."
"I... understand, father." Jenna slowly lowered her head and agreed.
