Chapter 547: Protest

Several young men and women walked slowly among the white stone carved buildings, some talking to each other, while others pointed at the statues and asked which saint they were.

"Huh, this is Durlan, the White Flower Saint." Heisen wiped the sweat caused by the heat and pointed to the white statue standing in the fountain in front of him.

The saint was wearing a tight and graceful dress and holding a specially made long sword in her hand.

The hilt, blade and guard of the long sword formed a straight cross, and then there was an upright circle on the guard, which partially surrounded the hilt and blade. The circle had complex patterns on it, like vines and branches.

Durlan held this special holy sword and inserted it into the ground, and then water gushed out from the junction of the sword and the ground, forming a small fountain.

"It is said that during the Chaos Disaster, this saint led the local people to build a city in just one month, and then inserted her sword into the earth to draw out a spring, solving the water problem and saving hundreds of thousands of people. She was later canonized for this. After the war, she also left behind an extraordinary faction, the White Cross Sword, which should still be found in Wilga today." Heisen explained the statue.

"It's a rare woman to be canonized." Boli looked curiously at the small stone tablet below, which recorded the years of her birth and death.

"Is the White Orchid Cross Sword still being passed down? I'd like to go check it out when I have time."

"Well..." Heisen thought about it.

"Which city was it in..." He couldn't remember for a moment.

"It should have been in Hopeland before, the White Cross Sword." Luo Xier walked slowly over and stood with Boli, looking at the stone tablet below.

"Is this the way it was in the past? What about now?" Another girl came over and asked curiously.

"They should be on your side. It is said that after the Hopeland Incident a few years ago, most of the members of the White Cross Sword went to the Frost Rose." Loran Hill continued.

"Oh, I don't know much about it. I preferred to play around when I was little." Jelica touched her chin.

The group then looked at other statues and then walked towards the Anthem Palace.

Amidst the tall trees, ethereal singing could be heard from a small church.

There were few people around and it was very quiet. Only the occasional chirping of cicadas in the treetops reminded people of the current season.

The seven people from Loran Hill did not go into the church to visit, as it would disturb others and be inconsiderate. Instead, they sat on the benches and rocks outside and listened to the hymns inside.

The nuns and monks in the choir are not too old, and their innocent voices singing without accompaniment have a pure and sacred feeling.

"Be calm, follow your own path, be generous and compassionate."

"Living in the capital, it is holy and solemn, like an orchid in a valley."

"My saint is immortal, acting as if nothing has happened, magnanimous and inviolable!"

The bytes are all short sentences with the same length. When chanting, the scale rises with the rhythm of the melody, giving it a grand and solemn sacred feeling.

Just like that, a few people sat quietly under the shade of the trees, feeling the summer breeze and listening to this distant and sacred poem.

“Even though I don’t quite understand the meaning of the lyrics, I always feel calm when I listen to them.”

After they finished listening, they continued walking on the mountain path, talking to each other.

"Perhaps this is the effect that hymns are meant to achieve. Sometimes the lyrics aren't important; what's important is the quiet and sacred feeling."

As they were talking, they came to the other side of the mountain.

At this moment, a magnificent scenery appeared before them.

The setting sun illuminated the sky and slowly fell into the horizon. The purple clouds of dusk dyed the horizon layer by layer, and the light golden sunlight fell on the vast slope under the mountain.

Due to the cold climate and sparse trees here, most of the ground is covered with gravel, soil, and green weeds. This vast slope, stretching for thousands of square meters, is now illuminated by the setting sun, a sparse golden glow filling every corner of the sight.

The world is clear and beautiful, the grass trembles slightly in the evening wind and light, and a pleasant dry smell comes from the air.

"There are such beautiful places around the holy mountain. Why didn't we know about it before?" Several people sighed slightly.

"I'm afraid you have been to this place before, but you quickly overlooked it at that time." Crow said with a smile.

"Actually, it's usually very sparse here. If it's cloudy, the huge slope below will be a grayish-white color, which is not very beautiful."

"It only presents a beautiful view at certain times."

"Is that so?"

Heisen and others expressed their feelings for a few moments, then sat here to admire the beautiful scenery for a while until the sun gradually sank behind the earth before leaving.

"The Holy Flame Palace is not far from here, let's go there for dinner."

Everyone wanted to walk towards the southern mountain according to the previously planned route.

As the group slowly approached, a noisy sound gradually grew louder. A group of priests in simple white robes were gathered together and walking on the road. As they shouted, a large group of people followed behind with interest. In this way, the number of people increased, and the momentum gradually grew, and they walked towards Loran Hill and others on the road.

"Sibis manipulated promotion arrangements and persecuted poor priests. His crimes are heinous!"

"You are a shameless villain, unworthy of being an archbishop and a priest of the staff."

"Dismiss him! Let the Judgment Department interrogate him!"

Faced with this huge crowd, the seven people had to do the same as the monks and nuns on the roadside, temporarily move away, stand on the side of the road, and watch them pass by.

"Is this a protest?" Boli asked in a low voice.
