The air in Hopeland is very fresh after the rain. There are still small patches of water on the bluestone streets, reflecting the blue sky. The autumn wind blows towards you with moisture and coolness, bringing a mist-like touch.
Loran Hill was now on the third floor of a restaurant. The roof of the restaurant was open to the sky. It had just rained and there were not many customers. White tables and chairs were placed under the scattered parasols. She was wearing that black robe and sitting quietly on the chair, watching the pedestrians passing by below.
"Sorry to have kept you waiting." A woman in a white robe with gold edges walked up to the top floor and sat down in the seat in front of the girl.
"No, I just arrived."
Loran Hill looked at the older sister in front of him with some curiosity. Although she was young, she had the superb strength of Sequence 6. Her figure was probably what men liked. She had a plump figure, beautiful curves, a soft and beautiful face, and long black hair that reached her waist. She had the temperament of a perfect wife.
"I didn't expect you to dress like this, Lacey."
Sitting across from them was the alchemist who had been with the delegation earlier, Tirela. She hadn't gone with the delegation to Dayas's house, but had left the group and stayed behind, contacting Loran Hill a few days later to meet up.
"Well, after all, if we don't hide it, it will be too conspicuous if we come out." Loran Hill explained.
"Indeed."
Tirela recalled Lacey's appearance, which even Emenas, a gathering of geniuses and top dignitaries, had never seen before.
"I apologize to you for Master Bronton's previous behavior, but I also hope you know that there are more voices in Lurna than just theirs."
Tirela spoke and then explained the reason. Unlike many Lurna mages, she was a student who graduated from Emenas College. She was knowledgeable and experienced. Thoughts and geniuses from all over the world of Ivar collided with each other there, which was far beyond what the local Lurna mages could imagine. The relatively rich knowledge sometimes made people develop a kind of arrogance, and they were unwilling to lower themselves to observe the many truths.
She first apologized and then began to introduce her school.
"My school specializes in the study of steam power. Most other alchemists use extraordinary magic furnaces as their power source, inscribing magic circles inside to generate torque and then causing them to rotate. However, this process is often complex and requires alchemists to create and operate it. My research focuses on engraving effective magic circles and creating steam power systems without relying on extraordinary people, because this is the only way for ordinary people to benefit."
To put it simply, the current popular ones are electric motors, while this genius alchemist was studying steam engines.
Not only does the magic motor require an alchemist to make, but it also requires a transcendent to constantly charge it. Otherwise, precious magic crystals must be used, while a steam engine can use ordinary fuel.
Tilera looked at the dreamy young lady in front of her who was looking at her expectantly. Unconsciously, she became more and more involved in the conversation and used a lot of professional terms.
"I'm sorry, I said a lot of unfamiliar things, and I don't know if you can understand. If you don't understand, it's okay. I'll explain it slowly later."
"I understand." Loran Hill nodded, with a hint of smile in his transparent blue eyes.
"I'm glad you understood. I was afraid that what I said would be a mess and cause others to misunderstand me." Tirela was also slightly relieved.
"Why does Sister Tirela think so highly of us, Carites?"
"No, I just have high hopes for you." Tirela explained the reason with a smile.
"You are very beautiful, Lacey. You have your own opinions and are quite capable, which is rare at your age. Instead of following those old men to other houses, it is better for me to stay here and discuss this with you."
"A person can only have one heart, and so can a ship. There is only one power system. Most of the delegation members are from the Magic Furnace Faction. If I go there, I will just be excluded." Tirela gave another reason.
"Our faction has just emerged and we don't have many members, so we have to find other ways to seek allies. At the same time, I also hope to see my doctrine put into practice and expand across the continent."
Loran Hill nodded, having developed a favorable impression of this older sister, a graduate of Emenas. Her teachings were geared towards the vast majority of ordinary people. While Lurna's alchemical creations were excellent, they were still somewhat too highbrow to reach the masses. Consequently, the disparity between the top and bottom of this world was enormous.
The things and lives enjoyed by the top class may be more comfortable than those of modern people in their previous lives, while many people at the bottom are still hovering on the brink of life and death. She often thinks that if the lower limit of ordinary people is not raised, the world will always be in a state of division. The environment in which people grow up and live is so different that dissatisfaction and misunderstanding will exist in large numbers. This resentment will turn into a deep gap and barrier, hindering the progress of the entire civilization.
"I also like Sister Tirela's philosophy. Even if it's technology, if it can't be popularized and used by ordinary people, it will always be just a plaything for a small number of people and won't be able to change the world."
"If Sister Tirela wants to cooperate with our Chamber of Commerce, I would be very honored."
"No, I'm the one who should be grateful. After all, no matter how good an idea is, implementing it will consume a lot of manpower and resources, and you're taking on even more risks."
Tirela and Loran Hill had a very pleasant conversation, and they agreed on many points of view. Although Loran Hill claimed that he had only studied with a reclusive teacher, many of his views and opinions sounded particularly novel to Tirela, and even inspired her greatly.
