Chapter 42 The Young Lady at the Banquet

A young girl in a blue dress was slowly walking into the hall. The guests around her automatically made way for her, simply because she was so beautiful that they could not bear to desecrate her.

Unlike those women whose faces were adorned with all sorts of powder, unlike those ladies who adorned themselves with gold, silver, and all sorts of fancy jewelry, and unlike those pretentiously arrogant yet mean-spirited aristocratic girls, the blue dress that hugged her body perfectly, with a light-colored collar and pure white gloves with lace patterns, the entire outfit perfectly highlighted this girl like a green leaf.

Her eyes were fixed on nothing, a hint of curiosity in their clear pupils as she casually scanned the entire banquet hall, her steps delicate yet delicate, as if treading into everyone's heart, their rhythm pulsating with each heartbeat. This natural beauty, no matter the angle, resembled a magnificent work of art, attracting greedy and adoring glances from the hall.

A huge chandelier hangs on the dome in the hall, with dozens of large candles burning on it, surrounded by a circle of smaller chandeliers. These chandeliers are all made of exquisite brass. The fiercely burning candlelight illuminates the murals on the dome clearly and brightly, and these murals that record various legends and myths add a luxurious color to the hall.

As Loran Hill entered, the music in the banquet began to play. Eight violinists and one pianist began to perform beside the stage. The soothing and light music accompanied the congratulations of the guests, and the banquet officially began.

First, various well-dressed gentlemen and ladies came to greet Loran Hill. Although the girl didn't know any of them, she responded politely to each of them at the prompting of Chelsea beside her.

When these people looked at the girl, there was envy, desire, pleading, and some fanatical love in their eyes. No matter which world it is, love at first sight is always a common thing.

After the girl responded for a while, a middle-aged man in a black suit came over. His suit was embroidered with small patterns of olives and shells with emerald green silk thread, indicating that he was from the Yagtilin family.

"Hello, Miss Lacey, I am Jelinek, the current head of the Yagtilin family. Welcome."

"Hello, Uncle Jelinek. I've heard my father mention you many times. I'm sorry to bother you with my sudden visit."

"Don't worry. Your father and I were close friends, and I'm deeply saddened to hear the news. If there's anything I can do to help, I'll do my best to help."

"Thank you for your kindness. I will definitely tell you if there is anything necessary." Loran Hill bowed slightly.

After a brief conversation, a girl in a bright yellow dress came over. She had long blue hair with some spirals at the ends that fell on her chest. Around her neck was a small and delicate gold necklace with a blue crystal pendant hanging in the middle of the necklace.

"Hello, father." She first saluted Jelinek by lifting her skirt, then turned around to face Loran Hill, her golden eyes full of curiosity.

"Rachel, you're here. Let me introduce you. This is my daughter, Rachel. You're about the same age, so you should have more topics in common. I won't bother you anymore."

After saying that, Jelinek walked to the other side to communicate with others.

The girl in the yellow skirt greeted Loran Hill first.

"Hello, I'm Rachel."

"Hello, my name is Lacey. I'm sorry, since this is my first time in Verga, I don't know much about some etiquette. If I do something wrong, please let me know."

"That's not the case, Lacey. I think you performed better than anyone else. You're like a born princess." Rachel smiled.

"Let's sit here for a while."

Rachel pulled Loran Hill to a small table next to the dance floor. Soon two servants came over and placed a candlestick on the white tablecloth, and then brought two glasses of juice.

"I only came of age in the second half of the year, and my father doesn't allow me to drink. I don't know if you're used to drinking juice. I heard that Xifeng prefers drinking alcohol."

"It's okay. I like juice too. I hardly ever drink alcohol."

Luo Lanxier shook her head. She had no idea how old she was in this life, and whether she was an adult was out of the question. In her previous life, she rarely drank strong liquor, at most she would have a light drink with friends.

The juice in the glass is light green in color, and after shaking, you can find fine green pulp. It tastes sour when you put it in your mouth, and then has a sweet taste. A few ice cubes are added to the glass. It is refreshing and delicious in the summer.

"Do you like it?"

"Hmm." Loran Hill took small sips of the cold juice. The refreshing taste dispelled a lot of the summer heat.

"Hehe, this is my invention. This juice is made from cranberries, but cranberries are sour, so I tried adding some honey to neutralize the sourness. Finally, add ice cubes when drinking it to make the taste more stimulating." Rachel introduced her masterpiece to Loran Hill.

"Ice?"

"Yes, we have a Sequence 3 Original Ice Light bartender at home. She's very good at this. She was also the one who led the development of several new perfumes in recent years. I'll introduce her to you when I have time."

"Delicious, right? Can you describe how it feels? My brothers look down on fruit juice and only like to drink alcohol. Every time I ask them, they just give me a perfunctory answer."

"Well, it's like putting your hand into the cool mountain spring water on a sweltering afternoon. The gurgling sound of the flowing water makes you feel sober."

Loran Hill tried to describe his feelings in words, while Rachel was very happy, as if she had met a soulmate in life.

"Lacey, you must be a good student. My brother and father would only say 'very good' or 'not bad' when they want to describe something as good."
