Chapter 870: The Figure by the Bonfire

"I...we encountered a monster before, but unfortunately we couldn't defeat it, so we had to escape." After stuttering a little, the adventurer finally reacted and answered.

They had been in the mountains for several days and had not seen Messia. This was the first time they met her.

"Oh, can you point me in a direction?" Loran Hill tilted his head to think, then asked.

"Okay." One of them answered immediately, but then reacted.

"But it's very dangerous. That monster is very powerful. We were able to escape only because an expert was barely holding it back."

"Is it too difficult? I have to go and take a look to be sure." The girl thought of another aspect.

"Uh, okay, it's actually over there." The leading adventurer sensed the girl a little and found that she had the strength of Sequence 4. She was rare in her youth and strength, so he did not hesitate any longer and turned to point out the direction.

"Climb over that hill and head northwest, and you should be able to hear the sounds of fighting. I hope that master hasn't been defeated yet."

"Okay, I understand." Loran Hill nodded, then held the scabbard in his palm and quickly shuttled over there.

“So fast.”

Seeing the girl moving across thorns and obstacles at high speed like a phantom, and as light as a swallow turning over despite wearing armor, several people showed surprise.

"This person is probably a stronger master than that girl."

"Are all girls nowadays so scary?"

Several people sighed, while Loran Hill had already climbed over the low hill. Layers of emerald green forests flooded the world like an ocean, and the girl in light silver armor instantly leaped out of this emerald forest sea, her body surging into the whistling air of the sky.

Her eyes searched downwards, and after a long while she spotted the figure struggling to fight in the woods.

The girl with light pink hair was exhausted, and the longsword in her hands was chipped and nicked, as if something had eaten away at it and corroded it. She gripped the black longsword in both hands, panting as she stared at the strange snake before her, its head raised and its tongue spitting. Sweat on her forehead clung to her hair, and a little liquid dripped down her eyebrows and into the corners of her eyes, causing waves of discomfort.

Will I die?

When everything in her vision began to blur and the aches in her body filled all her senses, the girl had to think about this sad ending.

Death, a word she had never considered before, had been playing out around her repeatedly over the past year. Her brother, her mother, her uncle, her guards, her maids—those familiar people—had fallen before her one by one, some with their eyes wide open, others clutching her hands, trying to tell her something. These scenes recurred in her dreams, leaving her with pain and fear.

Unexpectedly, when she really faced this day, she was not so afraid anymore. Perhaps she also hoped to be relieved.

Unfortunately, time can never be turned back, and I am so weak that revenge seems so far away as a dream.

Bang!

The strange snake in front of him shot up from the ground again, its open fangs reflecting the flash of metal in the forest, getting closer and closer in the field of vision.

He had already seen the trajectory of the opponent's movements, but the sword in his hand was no longer under his control and could only move weakly and slowly.

Sure enough, it has come to the end.

She slowly closed her eyes, preparing to endure the coming painful death.

There were several light swish sounds, and a few sword winds flashed across her sweaty body, bringing a slight coolness. She heard the ping-pong sound of metal falling to the ground in front of her.

Her sore eyes opened again, and she was surprised by what she saw.

The strange snake that could not be cut or split was dead. Its body was cut into several pieces and fell to the ground, twisting restlessly.

With another "swish" sound, a sword blade with a light purple glow pierced the struggling snake's head and stuck it into the ground. As the girl's eyes moved upwards, she saw a girl who was about the same age as herself, perhaps a year or two older, appear in front of her.

"Hello, I finally made it. I hope you are not hurt."

Loran Hill pulled the sword from the ground, swung it briefly to shake off the blood, and then put it back into the scabbard at his waist.

"Yeah." Looking at the swordsman girl who appeared in front of her, the girl finally couldn't bear the accumulated fatigue in her body and fainted.

She didn't know how much time had passed in the darkness, and when she woke up again, it was already night.

There was a bonfire in the woods, burning quietly, bringing a little warmth in the night breeze. She struggled to sit up, looked at the figure beside the bonfire, and then heard the clear orchid-like voice again.

"You're awake. Are you feeling better now?" The swordsman lady may have washed up at this moment. The hairband behind her head has been untied and now hangs on her collar and shoulders, making her look a little softer.

"Yeah." She answered, looked at the palm of her hand again, moved it slightly, and a feeling of relief that she had survived the disaster rose in her heart.

Unfortunately, this feeling didn't last long, and the heavy and painful memories in my mind came down again.

"I..." He opened his mouth and then closed it again.

"Do you want some water?" Loran Hill looked at the girl, gently helped her up, and handed her a glass of clean water.

"Thanks."

The girl picked up the cup and drank from it in small sips. Judging from the way she drank the water, she must have received a good etiquette education in her daily life and was not as casual as ordinary people.

"Eat something else." Loran Hill said as he brought over a hot apple with a branch stuck underneath.

"Thank you." The girl's voice was a little unclear. She swallowed and then carefully bit the warm apple.
