In Emenas, drifting snowflakes fell steadily. After the Winter Festival, the academy welcomed a brief break. Although we couldn't go home, we could still sleep in our dormitories or hang out with friends from the clubs. Whether it was the smoked meat bar in the small town to the west, the Furnace Hall in the mountains to the north, Black Swan Castle in the forest to the east, or the ice rink under the bridge to the south, they were all great places to have fun.
However, in the mountains where few students go, a tall tower remains tightly closed. The cold stone tower is covered with snow and blends in with the surrounding environment.
In a corner of the tower, a fireplace burned brightly. Chris squatted beside it, pulling out a few roasted sweet potatoes from beneath the ashes and gently patting them. Then she peeled a corner, revealing the sweet, orange interior. Puffs of white steam emanated from it, drifting continuously throughout the room.
"It's ready. Would Tidaisi and Siye like to have some?" The witch in a light pink and white princess dress stood up easily and turned around.
Not far from the fireplace, there was a small coffee table on the black and white checkered floor. On it was a chessboard with chess pieces of various colors. Two witches sat on either side of the chessboard, one of them was as petite as a doll, and the other had rare golden hair and silver eyes.
"So, we won this time." Titus picked up a white three-dimensional chess piece and touched it gently, then took a black lion head chess piece off the chessboard.
"I have to say Si Ye is very powerful. Little Luo Lan almost got fooled. Unfortunately, she is not the greedy type who will not let go of the treasure once she gets it. Moderation and clarity are indeed rare qualities." Tidaisi held a lace folding fan, lightly covering her face, and looked at the motionless doll girl in front of her.
"Well, we lost this time." Si Ye's face, as white as porcelain, was not surprised, and he nodded calmly.
"According to the previous agreement, Yibel will withdraw and will no longer participate in the subsequent fight, and you can make a simple request." Si Ye continued.
"The request is nothing special. It's just that Ibel must not reveal little Roland's identity to other witches or the empire's high-ranking officials. After all, he is still too weak and needs to develop." Tidaisi stated the conditions that had been prepared long ago.

Chris broke off a small piece of sweet sweet potato, tasted it in small bites, and then sat down on the soft sofa, revealing the pink and white stockings under her skirt.
"So sweet~ Are you guys really not going to have one? It must be tiring to sit next to the chessboard every day." The Mirror Witch ate snacks happily.
"You should take a break once in a while, especially Si Ye. You've only been retired for ten years, and yet you're already doing this kind of brain-consuming calculation work again. I always feel like you can't rest."
"Chris." Si Ye puffed up his cheeks slightly to stop the mirror witch from talking non-stop.
"Okay, okay, since you're serious this time, I won't bother you anymore."
"Who should I go play with later? Or should I go to Tehua? I snatched Katie from her last time, and I don't know if she's angry enough. If that doesn't work out, I'll prepare some more gifts." Chris finished the sweet potato in her hand, sat up, and thought for a moment. A soft bell rang in the room.
Two beautiful metal bells tied together, with green leaves and tiny berries in them, hung in the corner of the room and suddenly shook.
"This is..." Chris suddenly remembered something, then lightly tapped the front, and a silver magic mirror rose from the ground.
The mirror surface glowed faintly, and then reflected the symmetrical green and red colors on the left and right. A witch in gorgeous costume walked out gently from it.
"Long time no see, Chris." She had shoulder-length blonde hair and wore a folded cape dress that was a bit gorgeous. A thin golden chain was wrapped around her white wrists.
After lifting her skirt and bowing, the witch revealed her red and emerald eyes, showing an astonishing charm. Even among witches, this witch's appearance can be said to be quite outstanding.
"Ayihekatri, it's rare to see you." Tidaisi's clear voice came from the side, and the witch with heterochromatic eyes turned around and looked at the two people at the table.
"Hello, Titus." The witch seemed to have rarely dealt with Titus before.
"Are you coming here to get yourself killed? If so, little Luolan is in great danger," Tidaisi asked, looking at the twin witches. Within Siye's sect, the twin witches were extremely mysterious. "I will remain neutral for now." The witch shook her head and continued.
"But what follows depends on the performance of all parties. According to our previous oath, as long as the red and green roses continue to rule this country, I will bless and protect them."
"In that case, it's not unacceptable." Titus thought thoughtfully.
Next, the four of them sat beside the chessboard and looked at the chess pieces on it. Then Si Ye took action again and placed a small chess piece on the east side of the chessboard.

In Viscount Moro's territory, after the flames burned, the forest was filled with grayish-white dust, and the charred ground was covered with carbonized dead branches and warmth, making people walking in it feel warm under their feet, or even burn the soles of their shoes.
Captain Owen of the castle's guards led his men to search the mountains for possible survivors. Their main target was naturally the owner of the castle, Viscount Moro.
