"Hurry! Don't let it escape."
Urgent calls were heard from the forest. Several adventurers in light leather armor were running through the woods, jumping over obstacles, pulling aside the obstructing bushes, chasing the figure that was about to disappear from sight.
They had been tasked with hunting down this black Iron Claw Wolf. Originally, the mission required three, but one had managed to escape during the trap. These beasts were cunning creatures, and if they didn't catch it this time, finding it next time would be a difficult task.
The reward for the mission is calculated based on the number of reported monster corpses. If one is missing, it is considered as unfinished and only a small portion of the reward can be obtained, which is a huge loss.
Ignoring the thorns in the forest that could cut their hands, several people stumbled along the rugged mountain road, occasionally shooting barbed crossbow arrows in the hope of slowing down the iron-clawed wolf.
But unfortunately, four legs are much more convenient in the forest. After a while, the few people gradually fell behind, and the black wolf gradually disappeared.
"Damn, can't we catch up?" One of them panted and slowed down his pace, and his companion next to him also gradually slowed down his pace.

Compared to the enthusiastic adventurer, the girl was much colder. She looked at the wolf beside her, nodded, and said nothing.

But before the adventurer could even touch the wolf's corpse, a sharp sword suddenly thrust out, glancing past his cheek before disappearing into the bushes. A burning and stinging sensation instantly spread across his face, needless to say, it had already scratched his skin and nearly cost him his life.

The adventurer was shocked and angry, but before he could continue, the girl rushed into the forest, and soon the sound of metal clashing was heard from the forest.
Only then did they discover that the girl was fighting with a strange long snake.
Compared to ordinary snakes, this one wasn't much larger, but it was covered in colorful scales, like some strange metal, reflecting shifting colors in the sunlight. When the girl's sword struck the snake, it made a ping-pong sound, like hammering iron.
Another clash ensued. The snake's tail swept past the girl's side. Although she dodged it, it struck the tree trunk, snapping the bowl-thick branch. With a creaking sound, the tree slowly fell, carrying with it a swath of branches and twigs. Seeing this, several adventurers were forced to move and avoid the area.
Without the obstruction of the trees, the group could see more clearly. Every time the girl's sword struck the snake, a small spark would fly, leaving behind a pale white streak. The snake would then coil around the sword, preparing to pounce on the girl.
With her superb swordsmanship, the girl managed to throw the snake away and prevent it from biting her, but unfortunately, she had been unable to break the defense for a long time and her physical strength was no longer as good as before.
From the increasingly heavy breathing, several adventurers could tell that the girl was gradually losing the upper hand, but they also knew their own level, which was no more than Sequence 3, and was not very effective against this special Sequence 4 monster.
After hesitating, the few of them looked at each other and decided to drag the wolf corpse backwards. They started slowly but moved faster and faster as they ran out of the area.
Sorry, we can't help you much. Several people thought so, but before leaving, they still called out to let the girl take the opportunity to escape, as a last gesture of gratitude.
"Run away, you can't win."
They were experienced adventurers, and running away was not a shameful thing.
As they walked further away, the sounds behind them became quieter and quieter, until they could no longer see that area after climbing over a hill. Only then did they stop and lean on a rock nearby to catch their breath and rest.
"This wolf is so heavy." One of the sturdy adventurers took the wolf corpse off his shoulder, threw it aside, and then collapsed on the ground.
"Is there any water? I'm dying of thirst." He shouted in a rough voice, somewhat weakly.
"No, I finished drinking a long time ago. I'm lucky to be able to escape now."
"This forest is becoming increasingly dangerous. I think we should talk to the Adventurer's Hall and ask them to raise the rating."
"That's right. If that girl hadn't stopped us this time, we would have been harmed by that strange snake."
