Hopeland, Carites Chamber of Commerce.
The black-clad team of Tisiphone's family began to set up ladders to climb the low wall. On the wall were the guards of the Carites Chamber of Commerce. The two sides fought on the top of the wall, while on the watchtower nearby, some crossbowmen shot down to hinder the black-clad team from climbing.
From time to time, bursts of gunfire were heard outside the wall, firing at the top of the wall and the watchtower to cover the friendly troops climbing the wall.
Inside the Chamber of Commerce, Loran Hill sank her consciousness into her extraordinary core. The deep blood-red gem was now like a flower bud, engraved with magical patterns. She had been staying in Demon Sequence 3: Crimson Wound for quite some time. Ever since she woke up, she had been accumulating energy in preparation for advancement. According to preliminary estimates, it would take another 3-5 days to fill the last bit of the hourglass and obtain a perfect foundation.
But time waits for no one. Now the Carites Chamber of Commerce is in danger. With her current strength, she is unable to preserve the entire chamber of commerce. She must be promoted.
But even if she worked at full strength and sped up, it would still take her a day to complete the last gap and advance to Devil Sequence 4: Rose Song.
If it was a natural sequence, he could be promoted now, but facing thousands of enemies and hidden masters, he might not have enough combat power.
Just as Loran Hill's pupils alternated between crimson and emerald green, the battle on the wall entered a new stage.
Several armored swordsmen wearing black cloaks stepped on the ladder and rushed to the top of the wall, bringing up a gust of evil wind. With a wave of their swords, they chopped down a group of guards and opened up a space for the follow-up troops.
Oh no! These are the elite of Sequence 3. Just as Loran Hill was worried, a loud roar came from inside the wall. Blake led the Night Guards wearing purple armor to rush to the top of the wall and fought with the enemy. The strength of both sides was similar, and they were deadlocked for a while.
The black- and purple-clad warriors fought atop the wall, their swords clashing and sending out showers of sparks. Sometimes, a single swing of their swords would slice through the battlements, leaving only a smooth cross-section. They were all exceptional beings, their combat prowess unmatched by ordinary humans.
But as the subsequent black-clad teams continued to ram the gate, the rivets on the gate began to fall off, and the Carites guards inside the wall brought stones and other heavy objects to block the door, making a final struggle.
Bang--
Bang--
Bang--
The heavy hammers pounded against the iron gate, one sound after another, like hammers striking at the hearts of the people. The guards behind the gate piled up thick earthen bags to defend against the opposing musket fire, then set up their crossbows and nervously stared at the loose gate. Behind them, the cavalry was fully equipped, ready to launch a desperate charge when the gate was breached, taking advantage of the enemy's surprise.
Loran Hill stood on the top floor of the tower. Her eyes were emerald green and her hair gradually turned light blue, flying in the air. If there was no one else around her at the moment, she would probably scream if someone saw her.
Is this the only way I can do? She thought to herself. The clouds in the sky began to roll, the moonlight appeared and disappeared, and the night wind began to bring a chill.
She held up a hand, and the breeze began to tangle between her fingers.
------------------------------
Inside the Helis family's house, a swarm of family guards rushed into the main building, blocking all access. Teams of sword-wielding guards rushed up the stairs and urgently deployed defenses throughout the building to check for assassins.
Guard Captain Gerd and his men walked anxiously through the corridor.
"Haven't you found the young lady yet?"
"Captain, we opened all the doors in the building and killed all the assassins we saw, but we still haven't found the young lady."
The guards lowered their heads in shame. As guards, they failed to protect their master, which was the most shameful thing. Most of them grew up in the Helis family and had a deep sense of belonging, so the shame was even stronger.
"grass!"
Gerald angrily pounded his fist against the wall and cursed.
"You despicable bitches of the Tisiphone family, I will make sure you die a miserable death!"
"Keep searching! If she's alive, I want her dead. Search the entire building again. The young lady is such a big person, could she have just flown away?"
He went downstairs, called the family's arborist, and then moved out all the Flaming Camellias that the Helis family had accumulated for a hundred years.
Dust-covered boxes were brought out one by one. Some of the locks were so rusty that they couldn't be opened, so the guards hacked them open with axes. Scattered bright yellow camellias, illuminated by the firelight, shone faintly. As boxes filled the courtyard were opened, the entire square unfolded into a beautiful sea of yellow flowers.
"Shoot an arrow to the enemy outside." Gerd roared.
"Order them to hand over Miss Melu within the hour. Otherwise, our Helis family will fill the sky with these flaming camellias, setting all of Hopeland on fire, and incinerating the entire city. Everyone will perish in this endless sea of fire."
"After we die, who cares about the raging flames?"
"They can try and see if I dare to do it!"
The subordinate guards were shocked when they heard this, and then ran to prepare the arrow letter.
Jerde looked around at the family's arborists and ordered, "Now, chant to me, raise the wind!"
The arborists in the square, dressed in dead leaf costumes, hesitated, and one of the leaders stepped forward.
"Jerde, you are not the head of the family and have no right to order us around. Besides, burning down the entire city is too crazy. Our families, our children..."
Before he could finish, a sword pierced his chest, and he fell to his knees on the ground, foaming at the mouth, struggling, and finally died.
Gerd drew out the bloody sword.
"Don't forget who brought all this about and gave the Helis family a new life."
His face looked particularly ferocious in the firelight, and his eyes slowly swept over the people present. Teams of sword-wielding guards under his command surrounded the arborists, drew their swords and faced each other, the cold light reflected in the fire.
"I don't want to have to repeat myself a second time. Raise those camellias for me now!"
The arborists present no longer resisted. These extraordinary people dressed in dead leaf costumes began to chant the ancient and vast ballad, but this time, it was particularly sad.
Layers of flaming camellias began to rise from the earth, wrapped in a gentle atmosphere and flying into the night sky. The bright yellow flowers spiraled together, forming a huge column in the sky, with flowers flying inside and the outer part began to burn, which could be seen throughout the city.
Like a giant lantern rising from the dark earth dotted with scattered sparks, the warm yellow flames began to illuminate the entire city, and the gorgeous burning flowers swayed.
