Chapter 1065: The Oak Witch of No Cry

Soothing and distant music came from the stairs below.

Early in the morning, Loran Hill changed into a dark blue and light yellow dress, held the handrail of the wooden stairs lightly, and walked down. A quiet and soothing music slowly came into her ears.

The strings were not plucked quickly, but the sound was not interrupted. Instead, it relied on the lingering sound like mountain water, flowing quietly and gently surrounding.

Walking out of the stairs, Loran Hill looked into the lobby on the first floor of the hotel. There were seven or eight tables with several elves and humans sitting in groups of three or four. An elven poet was gently plucking the lyre in the corner. The faint singing was so soft, as if it came from a distant and nostalgic world, which made people intoxicated.

The hall, which should have been noisy, is now very quiet. Everyone eats quietly and enjoys the rare music in the early morning.

After making a gesture at the counter and asking for a piece of bread and hot milk, Loran Hill also carried a plate to an empty table.

She first placed the doll she was holding on a chair beside her, then picked up the bread and slowly began to eat it.

The dark brown bread was sprinkled with a sparse and tiny amount of sugar grains, and it felt a little hot to the touch. When it was torn open, a stream of hot white steam could not wait to overflow from it, and it smelled of wheat.

I have to say that the hotel arranged for the diplomatic mission this time is really good. Even though Loran Hill has traveled to so many places on the continent, there are few hotels comparable to this one.

Although the materials used are not luxurious or rare, they are made with great care and attention to detail, and are very clean. It is a simple and high-quality hotel.

Put the bread in your mouth, wrap it around your tongue, and chew it slowly. The starch gradually turns into a light sweetness, and your brain, which was a little drowsy in the early morning, slowly becomes clear.

Soon after, the music gradually stopped and a burst of light applause was heard in the hall. Because it was still relatively early, everyone was afraid of waking others up, so they did not clap loudly.

The elven bard then bowed in thanks before enjoying breakfast with the others. Perhaps his previous performance was part of his daily practice and habit.

Gradually, the hall became noisy and lively again, and at this time our Loran Hill also finished her breakfast.

Picking up Yi Xue, the exquisite doll with silver hair and black dress, Loran Hill walked out the door like a young lady who had not experienced much of the world.

Luna just arrived last night and was very tired from the journey. She would probably not wake up until the afternoon. In the morning, she would go to the 'Houki Hotel' to find Miss Helen, the witch she rescued last night.

The girl walked through the slightly chilly streets and over the cobblestones with accumulated water, then she lightly skipped to the hotel.

Compared to where Loran Hill lived, this place was obviously much noisier. Mercenaries carrying broadswords and wearing half-body armor could often be seen coming in and out. Most of them wore rough outer garments, and you could even see the frayed threads on some of the corners.

Some of these people even whistled when they saw Loran Hill, trying to tease this beautiful and fragile girl.

The girl shook her head slightly, ignored these people, and went directly to the hotel counter to ask about Miss Heron's room.

"If you are looking for Witch Heron, she should be having breakfast on the second floor now. Come with me." As he said that, the boss wiped his hands with a towel, gave a brief explanation to the clerk next to him, and walked out of the bar.

Although the hotel was crowded with people, the order was still good. Perhaps it was because the owner was a retired strong warrior. Even in winter, he still exposed his arms. There were various old scars on his iron-like muscles, including knife wounds and some remnants of claws. There was also a very obvious mark from the cheek to the neck. It made people sigh at his amazing vitality that he could survive such an injury.

Facing the noisy hall, the boss used a pair of thick and strong arms to lead the way. His palms were bigger than both of Loran Hill's hands combined. He pushed aside the mercenaries who were drinking and bragging early in the morning like iron pliers, and then came to the stairs.

After entering the stairs, the sound suddenly became much quieter, but the smell of piled up old millet also came from the tip of the nose, slightly dark and damp.

Following behind the boss, the girl felt that every time he took a step, the wooden boards of the stairs would tremble, making her worry whether the fragile stairs could continue to hold.

Fortunately, the second floor is not far away.

"We're here." The boss's back moved aside, and only then did Loran Hill see the situation in the lobby on the second floor. There were also many guests having breakfast here, but they were obviously dressed much more elegantly than those downstairs. She even saw a little nobleman wearing gold-rimmed glasses, flipping through the latest magazines printed in the upper-class circles.

In this era of high printing costs, buying magazines can be said to be a luxury.

Witch Heron was sitting at the table in the corner. She was wearing a black robe and looked like one of those ancient sorcerers who were not allowed to see the light. She was eating breakfast absentmindedly. Her attention had long been attracted by the newspaper in front of her. The milk next to her was now cold.

Loran Hill thanked the boss and walked over holding the doll Yi Xue.
