Compared to the mutually opposed and often war-torn Western Continent, the Eastern Continent is much more peaceful. Moreover, due to the numerous shipping routes, it also has frequent exchanges with other continents. The capital, Luojing, gathers visitors from all directions.
"Jia Lan~" A joyful voice came from the side.
When Loran Hill turned around suddenly, he saw two familiar elves, the forest elf princess Aitesi, and Irene with ice-blue hair beside her.
"Jia Lan is also in Luo Jing, that's great~" The forest elf girl was wearing a tight-fitting oriental dress today, holding a small lantern in her hand, looking very special.
"Jia Lan, are you talking about Sister Luo Lan?" Ye Ling looked at Luo Lan Hill beside him curiously.
"Yes." Loranhill nodded and greeted the two elves.
"I didn't expect to meet Xiao Jialan at the night market." Aitesi circled around Loran Hill with a little joy.
"Oh, it feels like little Jialan hasn't grown up." The elf girl commented on Loran Hill's figure with a little surprise and mischief.
"I won't grow taller." Loran Hill shook his head cutely, indicating that he didn't care about his figure.
"By the way, my name is actually Roland. The Jialan I mentioned before is a pseudonym." Roland Hill explained briefly.
"Oh, doesn't that mean little Loran is really a member of the royal family? That's incredible." After not seeing her for a few years, Atesi is still as lively as ever, although the elves' adolescence is indeed very long.
After chatting for a while in the street, a few people wanted to find a quiet place to sit for a while.
"Many places are packed now, and the streets and alleys are full of people." Irene shook her head slightly and talked about what she saw and heard along the way.
"Well, I have to ask our little local tyrant." Loran Hill held the Night Spirit in front of him and introduced the little dragon lady to the two of them.
"The child of the Ye family, so cute." Aitesi bent down and looked at the little loli who also never grew up curiously.
"Hmm." Ye Ling puffed out her cheeks. She would rather others describe her as handsome.
After thinking for a while, Ye Ling seemed to remember something and said, "Follow me~" Then the little dragon girl pulled a few people to the side of the street.
"Where are we going?" Aitesi and Irene held hands and looked curiously at the more prosperous pavilions and towers around them, from which the sound of stringed instruments could be heard from time to time.
"It seems that there are many music halls here, or places to watch dramas and dances." Irene analyzed it more seriously.
"It's not about that. Follow me." Ye Ling shook her ponytails in the night and suddenly led a few people into a dark alley.
With the occasional fireworks lights above their heads, the girls walked along the cold and desolate path made of broken bluestone, and after many twists and turns, they finally arrived at a river in the city.
The buildings on the other side of the river are full of lights, and the orange and crimson lanterns are reflected in the water. The reflections and the buildings complement each other, making the night scene even more prosperous and beautiful.
"Where is this?" Roland glanced at the willow tree beside him. Many of its branches drooped into the water, facing the river surface. A slight cool breeze blew, making people feel extremely comfortable.
"This is the Never-Sleeping River, also known as the Jade Belt River. It is a long river that runs through Luojing." Ye Ling turned her head and explained.
"There are many pleasure boats on the river at night, and you can also rent smaller boats and take a night cruise across Luojing to enjoy the beautiful scenery on both sides."
"Our Ye family also has a lot of properties on the Never-Sleeping River. I asked them to bring me a small boat so that we can take a night cruise."
After saying that, the eldest daughter of the Ye family came to the river, gently put her hand into the cold and clear water, and stirred it slightly. A burst of broken light spread to the opposite bank and far away along with the ripples.
"This river is also considered a tributary of Luojing's dragon vein. I am a dragon witch, so it is easy for me to use the dragon vein to transmit information."
Ye Ling shook the river water off her fingers and walked over with small steps. Her pair of dragon eyes looked like jade in the night, very beautiful.
Not long after, a pleasure boat slowly came from upstream. When the boatman saw the young lady on the shore, he ordered the boat to slowly dock and then came down to ask.
"Miss Fifth, do you have any plans?" A woman in a red-sleeved dress walked down from the boat, came up to the few people, and looked at them with a little interest.
"Yeah, yes, yes." Ye Ling nodded happily, seeming a little proud.
"My friend and I want to take a boat trip on the Never-Sleeping River. Please prepare a small boat for us and stock it with all kinds of delicious food and fun things."
"Oh, I see." The woman seemed to be very familiar with Ye Ling's way of speaking. She nodded quickly and went back to ask everyone to get ready.
After a while, a small boat was lowered from the pleasure boat. It looked like a larger version of a black-sailed boat, but more refined. The boat was made of fine wood, the color of rosewood. Lanterns hung on either side of the curved canopy, illuminating the sides and the river. At the bow, a small table and stools were placed, and a few food boxes were piled up on the side, many of which contained freshly prepared delicacies.
"Let's go up." Ye Ling nodded with satisfaction, and then took a few people onto the small boat.
My feet made a slight sound when they stepped on the wooden deck of the boat, and then the boat below swayed slightly, crushing the lights and starlight on the river surface.
Several people bent down and entered the round canopy of the small boat. After walking a little, they came to the bow and sat at the small table.
"The river here is relatively slow, so there's no need to row the boat deliberately. You can just go downstream." Ye Ling gave a brief introduction and curiously opened the food box placed in the boat.
"Ah, this looks delicious." Aitesi looked at the roast duck slices in the food box, which emitted a faint heat and fragrance, and the prepared dipping sauce was on the side.
