'Just because the past didn't exist doesn't mean it can't be born, and imaginary things aren't inferior to anything that exists in reality.'
This alone was enough, and for this reason I turned my back on Mr. Ludes's teachings, rebelled against my family, and joined Lord Jelann's army.
The past Western Territory cannot be said to be very bad, but this model is slowly coming to an end. Even compared with the past Western Territory, it is now the most powerful existence in history, but the road has come to an end. Maintaining it any further will only make people irritable and uncomfortable.
"I'm not some truly noble knight. I just want to end this painful era as soon as possible." Facing the familiar teacher in front of me, I raised my sword and spoke what was in my heart.
Griffins were flying in the sky, dragon-wing planes were flying back and forth, lightning spears and roaring bullets were streaking through the sky, fiercely and chaotically, and on the ground all around, knights in white lion armor were fighting with the landed griffin knights. Many of the two sides were acquaintances, and they even studied and grew up together.
"Oh, just for such a ridiculous reason, you are going to betray the Duke of Griffin. His Excellency has never treated you unfairly in the past."
"If you do this, what will your family think? Won't they be heartbroken?"
Mr. Ludes' question was so cold and strong that his companions behind him were unable to speak.
I took a deep breath, raised my head, and looked directly at the teacher riding on the back of the griffin.
"Yes, it will be very painful and sad. So, just because of their sadness, I must obey them forever!"
"Wouldn't I be sad? Wouldn't I be in pain? Watching disgusting things happen again and again, watching those disgusting faces succeed again and again."
"Although I am of noble birth, I cannot immerse myself in such a world like you. I am an outsider who is out of place and a fool destined to be unable to enjoy the glory of the nobility."
"Yes, that's right. The Lord of the West, the Grand Duke of Griffin, ascended the throne of the Empire, unifying the Empire. Many Western nobles gained greater lands and titles. What an honor, what a glory."
"But what meaning does all this have for me? Watching the old, corrupt system repeat itself once again, with tens of millions displaced, just to earn you a crown and glory."
"Glory, what exactly is glory? Fighting for power is glory? Killing enemies is glory? Taking pleasure in causing others pain is glory?"
"I hate this world. I hate your old, rotten thoughts, which always kill and oppress for the sake of pitiful titles and so-called wealth."
"I hate this world of rules and regulations. I hate this bullshit aristocracy. I hate this rubbish distinction of status. I hate using all sorts of things to restrict people, and then being complacent about it like a fool."
"But the problem is, there are too many idiots like you, and that's leading even more idiots to be deceived by you. I hate this stupid world, this world full of deception, and I hate this system that deliberately sets up rules and regulations just to satisfy some stupid hobbies and pleasures."
"There are too many fools and idiots. If I don't kill you all, I can't tell the story of my world, and I can't show the future I want. Now, do you understand!?"
Hoarse words gushed out of my lungs. I roared and slashed the sword in my hand again and again, just to express the countless anger and depression in my heart.
"You are a lunatic." Teacher Ludes' voice was still low.
"Yeah, just treat me as a lunatic. I can't be that rational and smart!"
The boiling magic power in his body resonated with the holy sword in his hand. The unspeakable boredom and depression in his heart burned and burst like a raging fire, and the sharp sword marks slashed down madly.
I hate such a world, I hate the so-called intelligence, and I hate those complacent fools. I am not a god who can change the world, nor am I a wise sage. I can only use the simplest and most violent way to explore the path in my heart.
The wind howled, swords danced wildly, and amidst the blood and killing, a glimpse of light appeared.
------Digression------
I was stuck for a whole day, but I finally finished writing it. I've been writing about rational and idealistic people for a long time, so I'll occasionally write about some crazy and stupid people, although they don't necessarily have to be really crazy or stupid.
There is also a special chapter about Frosia, and then the later part of the Empire chapter unfolds.
