Chapter 13: Mountain Climbing and Worship

The sound of drums was resounding, and the Panlong Society general walking in front had just taken the first step when he felt a heavy pressure on his body. Although he didn't understand the specific reason, when he looked up at the tall mountain gate, he could guess that this was a restriction and magic circle set up by the Tuositang.

"snort!"

Faced with such a situation, he was mentally prepared. He activated the extraordinary core in his body, then stepped heavily, leaving a footprint on the stone steps. Then the stone slabs cracked, and cracks spread from the floor under his feet.

In this way, step by step, the general walked towards the mountain gate under layers of pressure.

The body became extremely heavy, and the feet felt like they were filled with lead. Every time they lifted themselves up, it took a huge amount of strength.

After walking halfway up the stairs, the senior officials of Tuositang under the mountain gate archway frowned more and more, and their faces became gloomy.

Afterwards, several people looked at each other, nodded, and raised their hands to signal.

Soon, dancing lions with black stripes on a white background walked out from both sides of the mountain gate. They were in groups of two. The person in front held a lion head that looked like a mask. It was heavily decorated, but the forehead was extremely solid, with white fur and black spots, and the lion's eyes were filled with tears. Under the control of the two people, the lions came to life, dancing three times in one step. Their steps were as light as if they were doing nothing, and their flexibility gave people a sense of strong beauty.

These lion dancers first performed on both sides of the mountain path, then walked up the main steps step by step, rolled back and forth, and then jumped over each other. Their performance was applauded and praised by countless guests on and off the mountain.

However, for the Panlong Society members visiting the grave, these lion dances were not a good thing. During their performance, they had quietly blocked the road. If they were to break them open now, they would probably be despised and booed by the countless spectators. After all, they were here to pay their respects, not to destroy the temple. If they set this precedent, it would be a perfect opportunity for the Tuoshitang to come out in full force and apprehend them.

"Interesting." The leading general of the Panlong Society threw the blue dragon flag in his hand to his companions behind him, then jumped and directly into the lion dance team.

As the lion dance rolled and jumped back and forth, the general's eyes were sharp, looking for gaps, and then he kept passing through, walking step by step towards the mountain gate.

Just as this person was about to walk out of the lion dance group, the drum sound on the mountain gate changed again, and the white-velvet and black-flowered lion dance that was performing before immediately rolled over and leaped.

They suddenly retreated to the top near the mountain gate, and then jumped quickly while shaking their heads, layer by layer, with the lion dancers in the upper layer standing on the shoulders of the lower layer, and then repeated the process above. In this way, these lion dancers with white fur and black flowers formed a seven-layer high lion wall, blocking the mountain gate. The gaps between the lion dancers seemed loose, but they were tight, making it impossible for people to pass through.

Although stacked into a high wall, the lion dance did not stop performing to the sound of drums. It kept switching back and forth, shaking its head and tail, and the eyes on the lion's head kept blinking under control, making it look lifelike, which made many onlookers cheer.

Facing this tall lion wall that required looking up, the general of Panlong Society also stopped and stood still.

Soon, the members behind him also caught up, stood behind him, and looked at the Lion Wall that was as high as a hill.

"drink--"

The general, whose clothes were embroidered with dragon patterns, shouted loudly, interrupting the passionate drumbeats, and thrust the blue dragon flag in his hand into the ground. Then he jumped up, leaped high, and fell down again.

The members of the Panlong Society behind him were already prepared. They lined up to form a huge circle, holding each other's arms. When the general landed in the center of the circle, these arms were raised up, like a giant spring, sending the general straight into the sky.

The sound was whistling, like a flying dragon in the sky, rising thousands of meters into the sky, turning into a small black dot, and then falling straight down, carrying the power to pierce through the sky and split the clouds, and heading straight for the gate of Natuo Lion Hall.

"How dare you!"

A loud shout was heard from inside the door of Tuositang, and then the lion dance formation with white velvet and black flowers instantly dispersed. One group of lions jumped up, and the other group followed suit, tumbling in the air. The two groups stood foot to foot in the air, and after a push from each other, the upper group took off into the air.

But this was not the end. After that group of lion dancers leaped into the air, another group had already taken off, giving him just the right momentum. This group of lion dancers took seven consecutive steps in the air, flying into the sky step by step, and finally, like lightning, they crashed directly into the Panlong Society general who was descending from the sky.

As the two met, the heavy lion head with white fur and black patterns was held in the hands of the lion dancer and swung at the general like a giant hammer. The general of the Panlong Society was not to be outdone and launched a palm technique that fell from the sky. The sound was like a dragon's roar, and the red energy passed through the sky and collided with the lion head that was attacking him head-on, making a loud noise.

The lion's head was squeezed by the high-temperature fire waves and deformed in the iron palm. Then the general of the Panlong Society dragged the lion's head straight to the ground, creating a large pit.

"Hahaha, Tuoshitang is indeed hospitable. We will accept this lion dance gift."

After a burst of bustling noise, the members of the Panlong Society who were originally blocked at the stairs halfway up the mountain also crossed the scattered lion dance formation, came to the front of the mountain gate, and gathered again behind the general.

He handed the flame-ravaged lion head in his hand to his fellow disciple behind him, stepped forward again, stood at the foot of the huge mountain gate of Tuositang, and saluted with his fists.

"It's simply because I really like this lion head. My behavior just now was disrespectful. I hope you can forgive me."

"Oh."

The people in Tuo Shitang looked at the Panlong Society general who broke through the blockade and snorted coldly. Although they were not happy, they did not hesitate to stand in front of the door. After accepting the salute from this person, they made way for him to walk into the mountain gate.

Watching the intense scene of the grave-worshipping slowly come to an end, the pedestrians and spectators on both sides of the river were still hesitant, as if these few minutes had seemed like several hours. It took them a while to wake up and resume the noisy and lively scene.
