Beside him, several guests from the Southern Islands were asking the guards nearby about Solander's scenic spots and places worth visiting. A tall lion-mane orc walked in front of him. He was wearing sturdy coarse cloth clothes and carrying a copper-colored metal box on his shoulder. It seemed to contain his personal tools, and a smell of oil could be smelled. Some ground staff with long rabbit ears in uniforms were enthusiastically receiving passers-by and guiding them in the direction of business.
Following the crowd and the sound of the broadcast, Loran Hill made his way through the bustling crowd in an orderly manner, his nose perspiring the unique scent of summer sweat. When he left the station, a gentle breeze blew over him, and he felt a sense of sudden enlightenment.
Looking out from the square outside the station, to the north are the palaces situated on the hills, which are now the administrative center of Crancia. After exiting the train station and merging into the wide central street, one can directly see the tall statue of 'Loran Hill with a Lantern' located inside the palace, halfway up the mountain.
Amidst the discussion and voices of the crowd, Loran Hill lowered the brim of his sun hat, trying not to reveal his features. Then, with his head lowered, he walked quickly to a less crowded street, and only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.
"I almost forgot, there's a large statue of myself here." When Loran Hill thought about it, he felt like covering his head, but he couldn't say anything. After all, it was all well-intentioned, and he couldn't just turn it down because he felt embarrassed.
After searching for a while and finding the necklace that Titus gave her and putting it on, Loranhill relaxed a little and continued walking on the street.
The summer sky is very blue, and occasionally you can see airships flying from afar and landing and taking off in the open space outside the city. In addition to these big guys, you can also see sporadic Winged Guards patrolling in the sky, maintaining public security in the city. If there are some emergencies, they will drop from the sky and take action to resolve them.
Most of the shops along the street are doing good business, with pedestrians from all over coming in and out. Fans of various shapes are hung or placed in the rooms inside. They are constantly turning under the power of small alchemical devices, blowing cool breezes to relieve the summer heat.
The energy consumed by such a device is magic power, and generally only needs to be replenished by the store clerk every once in a while. It is very convenient and does not even require wires.
Compared to when I visited here many years ago, the clothes worn by people on the street today are much more colorful. They are no longer all made of coarse linen as in the past. Instead, they are mostly made of comfortable cotton and gauze, which are breathable and cool in the summer.
It was already evening when we entered the Hongzhen Palace.
As the secretary general, Palinsa brought several maids to help clean the place before letting Loran Hill in.
"Welcome back, Her Highness Loran." The former princess, now the head maid and secretary general, looked at the girl in front of her with joy.
"Yes, I'm back." After putting down the suitcase, Loran Hill hugged her gently.
"Thank you for your hard work over the years." After comforting the head maid who was taller than herself, Loran Hill let go of her hand after a while.
Palinsa seemed to have a lot to say about Loran Hill's return, but she didn't know how to start.
"Hehe, don't be so anxious. There's plenty of time tomorrow. It's getting late today, and you should get off work and rest." Loran Hill waved his hand to tell Palinsha not to worry, and then walked around the familiar house, his fingers gently stroking the furnishings and tables and chairs, before stopping.
"By the way, I also brought you some gifts." After walking around, Loran Hill suddenly remembered something, so he walked slowly to the gift box, opened the box, and took out an exquisite box.
"This is the specialty of the Emerald Forest. There are fine wines for maintaining the body, refined aromatherapy for calming the mind and healing the spirit, and finally, exquisite hairpins made by the elves." As he spoke, Loran Hill opened the box and introduced the contents.
"Would you like to try it on?"
Loran Hill took out the golden hairpin that imitated flowers. The flowers were made of metal filaments and dotted with light blue pearls. It had the complex and natural beauty of the elf style.
"Thank you, Your Highness Loran." Palinsa was surprised but also moved to receive a gift.
As the great sage of Clansia, a guide, and the object of everyone's admiration and following, I wonder how many people want to meet her, and how many of these people want to leave an impression on this princess.
It’s a pity that Loran Hill has always been free to move around, and few people in the country know where this silver-haired sage is living in seclusion now.
"It looks really good when I put it on." This simple compliment made the head maid, who always had a solemn expression, want to cry. She rubbed her eyes and blinked continuously.
"Why are you crying?"
“Because I’m very touched that I’m still remembered.”
Maybe, sometimes I just hope to be seen and recognized by others, and don’t want to be just a casual person in the background who goes with the flow.
"Okay, okay, don't cry. Palinsa was a princess before. You can't be moved so easily, otherwise you will be easily deceived." Loran Hill comforted the secretary general again, and the two sat on the sofa.
After a while, Palinsa calmed down and felt embarrassed for her behavior. She stood up and said goodbye to Loran Hill.
"I won't disturb your highness's rest today. I will come again tomorrow. Clancia also needs your review and guidance again." After saying that, she was about to turn around and leave. Fortunately, Loran Hill stopped her in time and let her take the gift box away.
