After everyone had introduced themselves, lunch finally began.
As the cart laden with delicious food came over, two teams of maids brought the prepared delicacies to the table, and then placed the tableware and porcelain plates one by one. Only then did the meal officially begin.
During lunch, Loran Hill felt a little uneasy, as if everyone was staring at her. She couldn't help but wonder if the price of fame was too high.
Fortunately, after lunch, many people left because they had other things to do. Looking at this sage who acted like a real girl, Palinsa found her somewhat endearing. Of course, she didn't show it on her face, but just stood quietly by.
After lunch, Pullman also had some things to deal with, so he asked a few others to accompany Loran Hill, and Parisa followed behind.
"Hello, sage~" A girl about 20 years old greeted Loran Hill. She had golden-orange hair and a shiny little star at the corner of her eye.
The girl's name is Sonia. She used to be a scout and painter, and now she is the leader of the Clansian intelligence department.
"plz follow me."
She walked in front, leading the way for Loran Hill, followed by two important officials who had just introduced themselves in the side hall.
"Here." Several people walked into a white palace that looked like a garden. There were clear bird calls on the branches, and a small table was placed under the flower vine rack.
Sonia asked Loran Hill to sit down before slowly explaining.
"I'm sorry, Lord Loranhill, today's ceremony was a bit sudden and frightened you." She clasped her hands together as if asking for forgiveness from the silver-haired girl.
Although it was somewhat unexpected, Loran Hill would not get angry about such a thing. He shook his head, indicating that he didn't need to take it to heart.
"Brother Pullman has devoted himself to military strategy and construction in recent years. He is not good at entertaining people and interpersonal relationships. I hope the wise man doesn't mind. In fact, we all get along well, hehe." The girl seemed to be born to love laughing, and under her influence, the atmosphere gradually became relaxed.
A few of them sat here for a while and gave a brief introduction.
Sitting on Loran Hill's right was Sonia, and on his left was York, a kind old man who was currently the archbishop of the royal capital. Opposite him was Leiden, the Minister of Commerce who had just been introduced.
"It turns out that we can relax more when there are fewer people around, haha." Sonia clapped her hands and asked the maid to bring some fresh fruits and snacks. Then the few of them had a brief conversation while eating.
"Actually, I first met Brother Pullman in the north. At that time, I was a newly promoted junior officer of West Wind, responsible for gathering intelligence on the northern Gufia grasslands." Sonia slowly talked about her experience of meeting and joining Clancy.
As a young genius of the new generation of the West Wind, despite being born a commoner, Sonya, due to her formidable personal strength (she achieved Sequence 5 at the age of 16), was highly regarded by a prominent figure and enlisted in the military. Because in the late West Wind era, even a genius without a good family background had little hope of success unless they achieved military merit.
In this way, she also met Pullman, who was a mercenary at the time.
That was Pullman's third year out of the forest. Despite diligent training, his talent was mediocre, and he was only at Sequence 3. At the time, he happened to be a mercenary squad leader, escorting a shipment of goods into the grasslands, and accompanying a merchant on a shopping spree.
This businessman was none other than Leiden, the rather handsome young man sitting across the table.
"It was a coincidence of fate. I had just left home to start a business on my own, and I needed someone with good ability and credibility to protect me." Leiden said, holding a folding fan. He was quite handsome, but the only flaw was his narrow eyes, which made him look a bit like a fox and untrustworthy.
"Then how did you two meet?" Loran Hill asked curiously.
"Because I thought this guy had bad intentions and must be a smuggler, so I followed him, intending to catch him red-handed so that I could make a contribution," Sonia said with a smile.
"Stop talking about my appearance, Sonia." Leiden was not angry. Instead, he took out a green banana from the fruit bowl and peeled it slowly.
"Haha, idiot, sage, don't be fooled by Leiden's appearance. He is actually quite stupid." Sonia also took out a bunch of light purple grapes from the plate and gave half to Loran Hill.
"It seems like you two have a good relationship." Loran Hill took the grapes and slowly peeled them.
"Well, it's okay. I often borrow money from him. Huhu." Sonia put a grape into her mouth.
"Actually, they are a pair of bickering lovers." Yorke at the side finally spoke. The old man had a long white beard and looked like Santa Claus.
"I followed this idiot all the way and saw him foolishly doing business. He lost a lot of money and I gave up. This guy is not capable of smuggling at all."
"You don't understand. That's called initial investment to build a good reputation." Leiden had to explain.
"Later, we happened to encounter a Sequence 3 monster. Brother Pullman defeated it, but this also attracted the greed of other caravans. They planned to attack while the grassland was deserted."
"The two sides were both badly hurt, and the other caravan also exposed some contraband goods, which we caught red-handed. That's how I got to know Brothers Leiden and Pullman."
"Since it was on the way, Leiden said he would pay us some more money to protect us, so we took a short walk around the grassland and came back," Sonia continued.
