The next day, in a restaurant in Hopeland, several Chamber of Commerce employees were having a sumptuous lunch.
"Did you see that starlight yesterday?"
"I see, it's very beautiful. Is it the new fireworks developed by the alchemists? They love to make these fancy things." The tall and thin employee said casually.
"How is that possible? Fireworks can't fly that high." The slightly plump employee retorted.
"I've been to Lurna, and their airships can't fly that high."
"Perhaps a high-sequence magician?" one of the shorter employees guessed.
"It's hard to say. The airflow at high altitudes is turbulent and the air is thin. Many mages don't dare to fly that high."
"If you ask me, it must be an angel!" said the slightly plump employee with certainty.
"That must be the light shining when an angel fell into the mortal world and returned to heaven again." He was intoxicated in his own imagination.
"Hahaha, here you go again. If you like angels so much, go to the Sanctuary. It is said that angels really descend there."
The fat employee looked at his bloated figure and sighed, "Forget it. Mount Calenriel is too high. I'll probably die if I climb it."
------------------
Emenas College, a tower overlooking everything.
A tall tower built of white stone stands on the top of the mountain, and its upper part reaches into the sky.
The tower high above the sea of clouds overlooks the vast scenery of this world, the lush green rolling mountains, the winding rivers, and the huge valleys with steep cliffs.
Near dusk, the senior students who had finished their classes walked out from the observation deck on the high tower, and then jumped into the sea of clouds in twos and threes. Amidst a burst of laughter and jokes, they flew up into the wind and returned to the dormitories of their various colleges like tired birds returning to their nests.
Some of them are students in the magic sequence who can directly manipulate their own gravity and fall from high altitudes.
Some are students of the Dragon Sequence, with a pair of huge dragon wings spread out behind them, flying freely in the air.
There were also a small number of students from the angel and demon sequences, with translucent wings woven with magic emerging behind them, and then catching up with their companions in front.
Students in the natural sequence will be more reserved, wrapping themselves in air currents, like bubbles scattering from the sky.
Of course, there are also war sequences and ocean sequences that are not very good at flying. They can only look at their classmates with envy, and then rush down the long stairs, and their speed is not much slower.
But the most comfortable ones were some students from the original sequence. They sat among the soft feathers of magical beasts, some of which were griffins, some were giant falcons, etc., and then watched the sunset scenery comfortably.
A tall teacher walked out of the classroom, her sea-blue curly hair draped over her shoulders, and some students said goodbye to her.
"Teacher Elila, see you tomorrow~"
She looked at the group of happy students and smiled, then walked to the top of the tower.
The escalator surrounding the tower is thousands of feet high, and the atmosphere and valley are at your feet. The peaks and towers are so steep that it makes people tremble with fear.
But this mature and older sister-like teacher showed no sign of changing her expression, as if she had long been accustomed to it. She walked up the stairs and stopped in front of the exquisite stone door. She pressed her hand on the central gem of the stone door, and a faint light lit up. Then the stone door opened, revealing the scenery behind the door.
The wind in the sky kept rolling up the curtains as thin as gauze, and the sunset outside the window filled the room with golden light. There were towering bookcases in the room, filled with all kinds of books. Some of the books were very old, as if they were written by the elves in the First Age, and some of the books were very new, as if they were poetry collections published this year.
Several windows in the room were open, and the wind blew through them, turning the pages of books and making a rustling sound, but it also made people feel very quiet.
A black-haired girl sat upright on a tall wooden chair. She was wearing a black dress. Her pale, bluish skin matched the black dress. Her delicate collarbone showed an enamel doll-like face, making her look like a petite doll.
The teacher with azure curly hair walked up to the doll-like girl, bowed slightly, and then asked.
"Lord Si Ye, do you know anything about the beautiful sky and starlight last night?"
The black-haired girl flipped through the huge book on her knees and didn't answer immediately. She was silent for a long time before speaking.
"Don't worry, there's no need to interfere in this matter."
The mature female teacher seemed to have some doubts and worries that she couldn't let go.
"Really? Don't interfere? That starlight will probably change the current world forever."
"After the destruction of Xifeng, the Seven Kingdoms of Xuehua are likely to be taken advantage of by Cangcui and destroyed in an instant."
"That's its destiny. All I can say is that Yalin is better than Roland in the end." The black-haired girl spoke in a calm, even tone.
"Isn't it wonderful that a thousand-year-old disagreement can be brought to an end here?"
"But weren't you the one who had the highest hopes for Roland back then? Wasn't he your proudest student? Why aren't you sad at all?" The curly-haired teacher said with some excitement, for she was from the Seven Kingdoms of Xuehua.
"Why should I be sad? What can you understand about me?"
Despite saying so, the black-haired girl did not care about the teacher's rudeness. Perhaps it was because she had experienced so much time and years that she no longer cared about such a degree of offense.
"Both Roland and Yalin are my students. I know the origins of their ideas better than you do. Admittedly, I prefer Roland's views, but Yalin's ideas also have merit."
"Back in college, we were rivals. Like mirrors, we reflected each other. Through constant debate and clashes, we discovered our own shortcomings, stimulating each other and moving forward."
"Even before they graduated, many students rallied around them, viewing them as leaders. One headed east, the other west, and two nations rose up. The nations that inherited their ideals, just like they had in the past, were entangled in warfare."
"It may sound cruel, but life and civilization are both inert. If it weren't for the mutual competition over the years, the humans of the Western Continent would have long since fallen into comfort and decadence. I wouldn't be surprised if the Plantagenet fleet one day crossed the sea and unified the continent."
"But if Cangcui were to unify now, there would be no more changes in the future, and the world would become stagnant. This is probably not what you want to see, Lord Siye."
"Eriella, you are too absolute." The black-haired girl closed the book, let it float slowly, and put it back on the bookshelf.
"Why are you so sure that the Seven Kingdoms of Xuehua will fail?"
"Without Zephyr's leadership, won't the other six kingdoms be able to save themselves? Will the Southern Berry Kingdom just watch helplessly as the continent is unified by Verdant Green and they themselves become isolated? Don't forget, they are also descendants of the Land of Oz."
"Besides, it's hard to say who will win or lose."
"After all, she is a new great witch."
