In the semifinals, Isaiah faced Rock.
"I didn't expect to meet you here." Isaiah was wearing a white shirt and leather pants, as well as a light and exquisite leather armor. Although weapons were not allowed into the venue, bronze-level armor could be worn at will.
For ordinary people, bronze-level armor is quite good, capable of protecting against most attacks. However, for Sequence 3 Transcendents and above, it's merely icing on the cake, not particularly useful. Only when one reaches the Silver-level Transcendental Creation will an opponent find it difficult to handle.
"I'm surprised too, but it's okay this way. I've been displeased with you for a long time." Rock curled his lips.
“Haha, that’s true.”
After Isaiah and Rock entered Emenas, despite both being in the central campus, they rarely contacted each other. Isaiah was busy socializing and participating in club activities within the Griffin Duke's circle, while Rock, on the other hand, was always focused on training and never actively contacted them. As a result, now, over two months into school, the two had only bumped into each other once, by chance.
"How is your academic progress now? I heard that if your foundation is not solid, it will be very difficult to catch up and advance to the fourth grade next year. Some students will study for two years in the first grade to lay a solid foundation and find their own suitable extraordinary career."
"It's neither good nor bad, but you don't need to worry about it." Rock shook his head and made a sword flower with his hand.
"Let's get started."
"Tsk, you're quite confident. I was even thinking about introducing a senior to assist you with your studies." Isaiah raised his greatsword and started to get serious.
Following the referee's command, the two men approached each other rapidly, sword lights flashed through the air, and the sound of clashing continued to be heard in the air. After the swords intersected, a lot of wood chips were raised as they chopped and tore.
After the two men crossed each other, one could even see the charred marks on the wooden sword, and a burnt smell filled the air.
The two were very familiar with each other, and after fighting for a while, they could both feel that the other's strength had improved a lot compared to before.
"I didn't expect that you hang out with that group of people every day, but your strength hasn't declined." Rock swung the swords in his hands faster and faster, looking for flaws in the constant intersection.
"You don't understand. With the guidance of powerful seniors, we can avoid many detours." Isaiah said breathlessly, holding the greatsword, but his eyes were still full of excitement.
"Of course I don't understand. Who wouldn't understand what you're saying? But the problem is that you act so self-righteously, which is really annoying."
"Do you think everyone has such favorable conditions as you?"
Rock channeled his own magical energy into his swords, coating them in a dark crimson hue. As they swung through the air, they became silent, ghostlike, and their speed increased by two notches. His figure gradually faded into a dazzling afterimage.
Isaiah gradually became unable to block the attack, and various scratches and puncture wounds from the rapier began to appear on his body, and his leather armor became tattered.
He roared, his eyes blazing with white light, and a white aura emanated from his body. Rock's red sword, like encountering a repulsive force field, was unable to strike, and his thrusts were deflected. Simultaneously, the greatsword, imbued with the force field, swept across, and the air seemed to become extremely sticky, making it difficult to move.
With a dull thud, the greatsword shattered Rock's red sword, then struck his arm, sending it flying like a rag, showering the air with blood. Rock tumbled to the ground, vomiting blood from his chest. He tried to stand, but his body trembled, and he failed several times. Finally, a greatsword was thrust across his head, and the referee declared the fight over.
"I'm sorry, this world is so unfair. That adult gave me some extra gifts."
Isaiah, feeling somewhat dazed, dropped his greatsword, slammed it to the ground, and stared at his friend. Although he'd won, it wasn't because he'd outworked Rock. Their talents were practically comparable, but following the eldest son of the Griffin had recently exposed him to many advanced sword techniques and also given him a superb Purification Potion, which boosted his strength. This allowed him to unleash near-gold-level swordsmanship and defeat his friend.
Rock waved his fist and hit the ground unwillingly, then was carried away by medical staff.
After a break of more than half an hour, the final began, with Isaiah facing Bumansha.
------------
Isaiah was slightly surprised by his classmate, who looked like a girl next door. She didn't look particularly formidable. He considered whether to hold back, lest he end up getting slapped a dozen times by the beautiful girl, leaving red marks on his face and the next day being ridiculed by his friends and classmates.
"Rising Star Competition, the final match begins!"
Bumantha stood still, holding the wooden sword in one hand, like a tranquil autumn stream. Isaiah swung his greatsword, charging at his opponent with a fierce gust of wind.
So, is this the extent of the opponent? Bumansha was filled with disappointment.
As Isaiah approached, Bumantha could sense that he was full of flaws, and the magic and power he displayed were not strong. It was far inferior to the lovely girl, Aloy, whom she had met that day.
A very thin sword light flashed, and the big sword was directly cut off, and the leather armor on his body also shattered and scattered. Isaiah looked at the long sword pointing at his forehead in shock. It was extremely sharp, and a slight stinging came, making him dare not move rashly.
"I...I...I give up." After hesitating for a while, he finally breathed a sigh of relief and said he surrendered.
The sword, broken into two pieces, fell to the ground, bounced slightly, and finally fell silent.
He couldn't see his opponent's movements clearly, and the cut on the sword was incredibly smooth. The huge gap in strength made Isaiah lose hope and resigned himself to defeat. The Rising Stars Tournament finally came to an end.
Champion: Bumansha
The amiable-looking girl received a medal and carefully prepared prizes with the congratulations of several teachers.
[Gray Dove] (Perfect Pearl Grade): The blade is made of snow-silver iron, light and sharp, with a powerful soul-breaking effect. It also carries the power of ice, which can freeze and shatter enemies.
As the continent's premier academy, Emenas had no difficulty selecting a weapon suitable for this young woman from its treasure trove. Accepting the pearl-grade artifact with both hands, Bumansha bowed her head in gratitude, while also thanking Roland in her heart.
Although she claimed she didn't want to be famous, pearl-grade artifacts were incredibly rare, even some Sequence 6s might not even possess them. Coming from an ordinary family, Bumansa would likely have spent years in the Empire after graduation before earning a standard pearl-grade artifact through meritorious service. Yet, now she had easily obtained one.
She probably said that at the time to put her mind at ease. A warm current flowed through her heart, silently remembering this kindness. In response to the teachers' praise, Bumansha smiled warmly.
It seems that I can’t refuse the club’s affairs.
