"Go inform Wyatt and have him lead a team of White Lion Knights to quickly attack the other army and try to defeat Blake beforehand and then capture him."
If he were caught by himself, he could still think of a way to save the lives of his two brothers, but if he was defeated by others, there would be too many variables on the battlefield.
He had already lost his father and mother, and his sister had long since turned against him. Only his two younger brothers had any chance of redemption.
They were still young, too young, and were ordered by their father to do stupid things. If I had taught them well back then, it would have been fine. I probably didn't make up my mind at that time.
After the coalition forces occupied the Griffin Territory, the core hinterland of the Western Territory, the battlefield of the entire Western Territory began to show a one-sided trend. Many soldiers of the Western Territory coalition began to flee, and even the dispatch of supervision teams by officers had little effect.
Everyone no longer believed that the Western Territory could win, and Lord Jelann was indeed the nominal heir of the Western Territory. What was wrong with pledging allegiance to him? So with this idea in mind, many soldiers and officers surrendered on the spot, causing the war situation to begin to change.
A few days later, the remaining troops from the Western Territory stopped to rest at a fortress in Grey Sparrow Territory. They had been marching for five consecutive days and were already exhausted.
The war horses were tied casually in the grove to graze, and temporary chevaux de frise were set up on the road. The original viscount of the Grey Sparrow Territory had already escaped, and the castle left here was just right as a stronghold and resting place for the remaining troops.
But before these people could stay for long, the sound of heavy horse hooves was heard in the forest. A team of knights in white armor crossed the road in the forest and went up, approaching here quickly.
The fence across the mountain path was easily crushed and broken by the lowered lances, crashing into the grass on both sides. Afterwards, the team of knights divided into two columns and surrounded the small fortress respectively. When the last ten knights arrived, they began to accelerate, and the classical lances in their hands carried spiral air waves and hit the city gate directly like a giant hammer.
With a loud bang, the thick city gate broke into several pieces, and collapsed with the broken wood and dust, revealing the road behind it.
Before the smoke and dust dissipated, several sharp enchanted crossbow arrows shot out from the front and pierced the chest of the knight in front.
With a few muffled groans, the White Lion Knights slowed down and moved to the side of the road to make room for their comrades behind them.
Several more White Lion Knights stepped forward, this time holding their shields high. At the same time, the lances in their hands burst out with light blue patterns. The glow of magic gathered and turned into piercing light spears, bombarding the front.
The sounds of explosions and collapses came from the front, and the scene in the fortress was also seen clearly by the White Lion Knights who entered.
More than forty elite remnants of the army were entrenched in the defensive buildings of the fortress. Some were firing back with crossbows through the firing holes, while others were on the city walls, seemingly urgently feeding and comforting the griffins. A slightly thin blond man stood on the top of the tower in the fortress, with a cold old man beside him.
"It's time to go, Your Highness Black. We can still buy you some time. If you continue west on your griffin, you should be able to reach Emenas in three days."
"That is the permanent neutral ground where the Sages' Society is located. Even the forces within the empire will not go there to arrest people."
The old man with white hair and beard was Ludes. After the Western Alliance suffered defeat, he, under the order of the old Duke of Griffin, brought people to support Black and prepared to take him away from the empire to other countries.
"Unfortunately, my brother won't let me go easily." Blake pressed the hilt of the sword at his waist and looked at the rising new star in the sky in front of him.
The holy swordsman, purple knight, and high-level transcendent who was approaching as quickly as a stream of light, carrying a frenzied airflow, was none other than Wyatt, the first knight under Jelann.
“Found it!”
His sharp eyes were fixed on the blond young man standing on the top of the tower, and the long sword with an arc blade in his hand swooped down. Even before he got close, he felt a sharp cutting sensation coming towards him.
"Back off! Wyatt."
Facing the purple-robed knight, Ludes took a step forward, drew out the two-handed sword at his side, and slashed down fiercely.
The exploding sword mark was like lightning, leaving a dazzling track in the air, slashing towards the approaching figure.
"Thump, thump—clang." The sound of fighting rang out quickly from the top of the tower, which was too fast to hear. The two figures that kept intertwining with each other were also too much to watch.
The holy sword in Wyatt's hand swung faster and faster, as if there was no resistance in the air, without any warning, but continuously.
Vision and hearing were no longer enough to keep up with Wyatt's frantic sword speed. Ludus was able to stop him thanks to years of muscle memory and his understanding of Wyatt. He had trained many knights in the West, including Wyatt.
After a round of attacks, the two were evenly matched, but the soldiers below were mostly eliminated by the surrounding White Lion Knights. Seeing that several White Lion Knights were already rushing out of the tower, Ludes, knowing that he could no longer stop them, ordered Black to leave quickly.
"Let's go! What are you standing there for?"
"I am a descendant of the House of Salus, I deserted the battlefield..." Although his body was doing as he was told, he was still hesitant.
"Stupid!" Ludes roared, and then a suffocating heat wave slashed down, forcing Wyatt away.
He quickly stepped back, picked up Blake, placed him on the griffin's back, and let it take off.
"Too arrogant, teacher." Wyatt rushed up with a sword in hand, and his figure passed through Ludes' blockade like an afterimage, cutting down the griffin. Then Blake fell to the ground with a scream and was caught by Ludes behind him.
