Chapter 109: Summer Vineyard

There was a light rain in the sky, and the raindrops moistened the branches in the mountains, then slid down along the leaves, and finally dripped onto the hard concrete road, gurgling into the drainage ditch, and embarking on a joyful drifting adventure with fallen leaves, gravel, and peeling bark.

Although it is a city in the mountains, it is not backward. Neat houses are distributed on both sides of the road, with tiled walls and purple roofs of varying shades, which make these houses full of life. There are also tall trees planted in the yards of many houses, which bring some shade and uniqueness, and reveal a hint of tranquility and comfort in the neatness.

In this continuous rain, vehicles occasionally passed by on the road, and the sound of water splashed by the tires came from far away and then disappeared in the hazy drizzle.

"The Mountain Cherry Museum is just ahead. Please be prepared, kids. Follow the teacher and don't get lost." A young female teacher reminded the ten-year-old children on a bright yellow bus.

"Children who have umbrellas and raincoats can find them in advance. If you don't have any, please raise your hands. I have spares here."

She walked down the aisle of the bus, checking the children one by one. Everyone was chattering. Some said they were prepared, some didn't listen to the teacher and kept leaning against the glass window, watching the scenery outside receding, and some looked at the people around them anxiously, as if they had something to say.

After the two teachers had checked everyone one by one and made sure that everyone had rain gear, they returned to their seats with peace of mind. At this time, the bus slowly climbed up the slope and went deep into the mountains.

On the car window, bean-sized water droplets kept sliding down, making the outside world look cold and wet. There were fewer and fewer cars on the road, and thick woods appeared on both sides, with the ground covered with wet dark red fallen leaves.

The rain gathered into a stream and flowed down the hillside outside the road, carrying away a few wet leaves and rolling pebbles.

Unknowingly, the bus had arrived deep in the mountains, and after turning a corner, the scenery in front of us suddenly became clear, and a spacious open space and the ancient Western-style building standing under the big tree appeared in everyone's eyes.

"That's the museum we're going to today. It's said to be a converted Western-style house from long ago. It still displays many items used by past nobles."

"Oh, this is something used by nobles, it feels very powerful~" Some children looked out the window with envy and anticipation.

"Humph, the nobles are all ancient people. I heard from my mother that the things the nobles used in the past are nothing special now. For example, the ice cream and snacks we eat now, and the clothes we wear, are all things that only the nobles used in the past." A little girl in a red dress hummed with her arms around her, and the children around her looked at her with admiration.

"Xiao Ning is so amazing~" a child said this, and the teacher was laughing beside him.

Soon, the bus stopped steadily in the square in front of the huge western-style building. The staff in the guard room came out and exchanged a few words with the driver. Then the tensile fence in front of the western-style building gradually opened.

"Now, everyone, follow the teacher out of the car, one by one. Don't rush. Remember to wear your raincoat and hold your umbrella."

"Yes~" the children answered in unison obediently.

In the cool rain, the children lined up in a long queue, followed their teacher, walked through the closed fence, and entered the quaint and elegant Western-style house.

Climbing the marble steps, they splashed water with every step, then regrouped under the tall doorposts. They cleaned the water droplets off their umbrellas and raincoats, placed them in designated places, and then carefully walked into the quiet museum.

It is very quiet inside, with mahogany furniture and brass decorations everywhere. The ground is as clean as a mirror, and there are some signposts on both sides of the road.

Two museum staff members came over and told the children the origins and history of each object.

"This is a colored porcelain tea table used by the local Viscount Wenlani during the Green Empire era. It's said to have been custom-made from the East. It features sand red and light gold patterns, and was used by the Viscount to entertain guests..."

"Looks so good~" The children were lying outside the glass cabinet looking at the objects inside, but some of them were not interested in these things. Instead, their eyes were focused on

I walked around the museum, looking at the dome above my head.

"This is the full body armor used by knights during the imperial era. Next to it are the matching vests, lances, and long swords." As he spoke, the staff member introduced another item.

"Wow, this feels great." Compared to the previous tea table, the children were much more excited this time.

"Oh, this is plate armor, right? My grandfather told me that when he was little he envied the cavalrymen who rode horses. The empire used to have organized cavalry units, and they were magnificent."

"It's quite gorgeous, but didn't the teacher talk about the dark side of things during the Empire class? Maybe you're just a soldier following the knights around, working tirelessly. Hehe."

"Ah, you're always arguing. I won't play with you anymore."

"Shh, shh, if you don't want to play, then don't play. You still treat me like a kid, yeah." The child said this and made a face.

The staff took the children through various parts of the museum, explaining the objects stored there one by one. Most of them were from the Green Empire period. There were utensils used by nobles, armor and weapons, as well as some extremely complicated formal dresses, which caused the children to exclaim in surprise.

"Finally, before leaving the museum, we would like to thank the donor of this museum, the original owner of most of the items, Grandma Gweil."

As he spoke, the staff member came to the back door of the museum. Near the exit, there was a smaller room with an oil painting in it. There were some manuscripts and a few sketched patterns in the glass grid below.
