"Did Angus have much contact with them before?"
"The master and the current head of the Yagtilin family are very good friends. They once went to the South Sea Islands to do business together and took great risks."
"Okay, I understand. After we get into the city and rest for a while, we'll go visit the Yagtilin family."
As the convoy of the Carites Chamber of Commerce slowly entered the city, several guards wearing green robes hurried to the city lord's mansion to report the situation.
Inside the city lord's palace, a white flag with green patterns of olives and shells was hung in the hall, representing the Yagtilin family.
A middle-aged man wearing glasses was sitting at his desk writing a letter when there was a knock on the door.
"Enter."
"Lord Jelinek, the convoy from the Carlites Chamber of Commerce entered the city today."
"Okay, got it. Angus should be here later. Let's prepare the feast."
The middle-aged man was still busy writing and didn't take it too seriously. He and Angus were old friends and they met often, so there was no need to be formal.
"But sir, it's not Master Angus who came this time, but it is said to be his daughter Lacey. And Master Angus was attacked on the way back and has died." The adjutant said a little nervously.
"What!" The middle-aged man tilted the pen in his hand, leaving a streak of ink, and then stood up in surprise.
"Angus is dead?"
"Yes, sir," the adjutant repeated.
"His daughter is the only one who survived?"
"That's what they say."
The middle-aged man began to pace back and forth in the room, and then gave instructions to his adjutant.
"Prepare a grand banquet tonight, and call Rachel over. She should be about the same age as Angus's daughter, so she'll be easier to get along with. Then invite Angus's daughter to your home."
"Yes, sir." Then the adjutant left the room.
Jelinek said in a low voice as he looked out the window at the sky gradually approaching dusk.
"Are you just going away like that, Angus... so suddenly."
