Two days have passed since Edren sent out the invitation, and today is the weekend, which is also the day of the party.
A large hall in the center of the city was used to hold the banquet.
As soon as it got dark, the lights in the hall were already lit. The beautifully shaped glass chandeliers, the golden dome murals, the neatly arranged chairs and the long tables covered with exquisite tablecloths, everything looked magnificent and full of luxury.
At the entrance of the hall stood six members wearing rose badges. They were dressed in well-fitting crimson uniforms with black and red scabbards on their waists. They all looked very handsome and were considered the face of the club.
Under their reception and guidance, invitees from other clubs began to enter one by one with their invitations, sat down and waited quietly.
At the head of the long table in the hall stood a red-gold chair, the seat reserved for Edren, who was currently in the adjacent lounge, not yet entering. Besides him, Ronald and another subordinate were in the room.
There was a slight creaking sound as the door was pushed open. A member in a red uniform walked in, stepped on the soft red carpet in the room, leaned over, and whispered a few words to Ronald. Ronald nodded, and then the member quietly left.
"What's the situation now?" Edlen leaned on the sofa, supporting his head with his right hand and holding a glass of red wine in his left hand.
"Your Highness, the number of people present is somewhat less than expected."
"Interesting, this is really interesting. It seems that I have underestimated this opponent."
"It has silently influenced so many people in the academy and slowly taken away our place." Edren looked at the red liquid rippling in the cup and slowly drank it.
"How did she do that?"
"It's surprising that such a powerful magic could make these people fall for it in such a short time. Even Miss Luo Lan hasn't reached the point where she can make people lose their minds."
"I'm sorry, Your Highness, I can't answer that either." Ronald thought of the fruitless attempts over the past two days and lowered his head in guilt.
-------------
In the hall, some seats at the long table in the middle were already occupied, while the rest, although not occupied, had signs with the names of the societies printed in front of them.
"I'm sorry, Bumansha, please come with me tonight." A girl with long chestnut hair said to the people next to her. They were standing by a long table. Unfortunately, only the club president could sit here, and the rest of the followers were sitting at the small round table next to the hall.
"It's okay. I'm actually quite curious about the food and beverages at the banquet."
Bumansa shook her head indifferently. Her background could only be described as ordinary, so she was naturally curious about what the banquets among the top nobles were like. That was why she followed the president of the 'Nectar Bud' club to attend it tonight.
"Hehe..." The president laughed.
"I'm afraid I'm going to disappoint you. In fact, banquets among nobles are not that interesting, and sometimes people can't even eat enough." She said in a low voice. Instead of sitting down immediately, she took Bumansha to a small table next to her and found a seat.
"Come to think of it, I have to thank Bumansha recently, because your joining has greatly increased the reputation of our club, and now we have more and more members."
"Would you like to consider becoming a core member of the club? After I graduate, this club will be inherited by you." She tried to invite further.
"Thank you for your kindness, President. However, I was already a core member of another club in my freshman year, and the school's rules state that you can only be a core member of one club, so I can't do that."
The president wasn't angry after hearing this, but felt a little regretful: "What a pity! I wish I had met you earlier."
After a while, she asked, "Which club is it? I don't think you've mentioned it before."
"It's called 'Black Water Lily'. Since there are only four of us, not many people know about it."
"I don't seem to have heard of it. Is it a newly established club?" she asked curiously.
"Yes, I founded it with a few friends in my first year, but the president is not me, but Roland." Bumansa nodded. In fact, this is not a secret. It is registered in the college's roster, but no one usually checks it.
"Loran, is she the girl who won the 'Rainbow Bottle' competition?"
"Well, our first-year dorms are right next to each other."
"Wow, this is really fate." The president was a little surprised.
"It turns out Miss Loran is also the president of the club. I never knew that before."
"There are very few people, so we were not invited this time." Bumansha said with a smile.
"Hehe, I guess Edren doesn't know. If he knew, he would definitely ask someone to invite Miss Loran over." The president naturally called Edren's name. It seemed that the two of them were old acquaintances.
"Okay, let's stop talking for now. I see he's here, so I'm going to take a seat first. We'll talk after the banquet." After saying that, the president stood up and walked to the long table and sat down. At this time, there were still many empty seats at the long table.
Edlen walked into the hall and looked at the many empty seats. His brows raised slightly, then returned to normal, as if he didn't care. Then he walked calmly to his own seat and sat down.
Ronald stood beside him and reported in a low voice.
"Only 16 of the 42 clubs we invited have arrived so far. Clubs with a large number of Demon Sequence members are basically absent. Only some clubs with mainly Natural Sequence members are present."
Edlen nodded slightly, and Ronald stepped aside. Then, with a raised hand, the hall quickly quieted down, and everyone's gazes turned to the prince. Their expressions ranged from admiration to curiosity, confusion, and even indifference.
