Chapter 555 Tonight's Hero

Under the shade of the trees in the silvery moonlight, the two continued their conversation.

"After arriving in the new parish, he became just an ordinary priest in the local temple. Although he was quite powerful, as a wealthy city with a large gathering of nobles, there were many extraordinary people there, and a Sequence 5 Angel was not particularly conspicuous."

"What happened later was just as the old man said. Ryan's actions were discovered, and he begged Sibisi to help take the blame."

"Sibis silently accepted the request, and as a result, he lost his eligibility to stay in that city and was transferred to a remote area again."

"This time he stayed for another three years, but unlike last time, he quickly impressed the locals with his extraordinary strength. He then told them that if they believed in angels and gods, they would receive protection from the church, and that they could go to the church for treatment when they were sick."

"As a result, the small church soon developed and made a lot of money."

"It's hard to imagine what he experienced and thought in that isolated little mountain village. But from then on, his behavior became much more sophisticated and worldly."

"Then, relying on his reputation within the church, he quickly and easily made friends with talented and outstanding individuals. As a result, his reputation rose steadily and he was quickly promoted to bishop. Five years later, he took over a coastal diocese and became the local archbishop."

"And because I stayed indoors for so many years and lacked exercise, I gradually gained weight and ended up looking like I am today." After saying this, the woman sighed, as if she felt sorry for her experience.

"If Bines becomes Pope, what will you do with Sibis?" asked the silver-haired girl.

Bines stood in the shade of the tree illuminated by the moonlight, looking at the man in the fire in the distance, and was silent for a while.

"I'll probably let him retire from that position and send him to a remote place to retire."

"Is that so?" The silver-haired girl paused for a moment and continued.

"If it were me, I would have the Judgment Department review the mistakes Sibis has made over the years and punish him according to the laws of the church. Even if it means execution, I would order it."

"Beneath, you're still too kind." When Loran Hill said this, she felt a hint of self-mockery in her heart. You're sometimes the same. It's just that this time she was half an outsider, so she could see things more clearly.

"Sibis may have been a good man when he was young, with good ideals and good conduct, but when he committed evil, these could not serve as his protection."

"It cannot be said that because a bad person does a good thing, his sins are forgiven."

"Judicial injustice will lead to a sharp decline in morality, especially since he is the Wand Priest of the Ten Swords Palace."

"He used to be a genius with ideals, and now he's also a brilliant villain."

"He would use some of his good deeds to cover up for himself, to whitewash himself, and even to make those who suffered misfortune because of him grateful to him."

"If you look at some of these people's one-sided deeds, they appear to be good people, but this is just a fancy cloak to cover up their sins."

"He used various means to win over others, placing his cronies in positions of power, forming a community of shared interests, and squeezing out the development space of others. Then, he took out a tiny one percent of the vast wealth and resources he had embezzled and gave it to those struggling at the bottom, in order to demonstrate his own kindness and good reputation."

"If you are moved by this small act of kindness, believe that he is not so bad, and let go of your hatred, then his goal will be achieved."

"If this continues, the church will gradually become a private property controlled and owned by a few, rather than a universal organization that belongs to everyone."

"Why are so many people gathered tonight? Why are they so angry? Isn't the source of all this the unjust system and those vested interest groups?"

"Why should we be grateful for the crumbs that fall from the fingers of these hypocrites, since they are the ones who take the bread away."

"But now they have been bribed and deceived by Sibis with the smallest of benefits, and have given up on continuing the struggle and are now fighting among themselves."

"If Sibisi can get through tonight smoothly, then what happened tonight will be immediately packaged and publicized, promoting Sibisi's greatness and glory, and spreading it throughout the various branches of the church."

"By then, once public opinion and views have formed, anyone who expresses a contrary opinion will be attacked in various ways, and it will be very difficult to overthrow him."

Loran Hill looked at the noisy and stalemate scene in the night and slowly expressed his views.

Bines turned her head and looked at the young new witch with a hint of surprise in her eyes.

"I didn't expect that the wise man is more determined than I thought."

As a Sequence 9, she knew many things going on within Aquarius even without being present. Meanwhile, these days, Roland Hill's life had been like that of an ordinary girl: quiet, usually speaking softly, and sometimes shy and reserved. She didn't look like a wise man who would govern and lead a nation.

But what I didn't expect was that in tonight's events, she saw things so clearly and coldly. She was not as innocent as her appearance suggested, nor as gentle as she usually was.

Loran Hill looked at Bines's expression, guessing what the priestess was thinking. She shook her head slightly. Her usual behavior was just a matter of character, not necessarily childish or naive in such a matter.

If we were to discuss the nations of our past lives, which country had the most intense political atmosphere, it would undoubtedly be our former homeland. While you're eating noodles at the restaurant downstairs, you could hear several gentlemen discussing state affairs. The online world is even more intensely political. Every day, everyone longs to be the head of state and wield their power.
